  1. We'll be lucky to spend £700k - £1m this summer. We are absolutely not spending £10m+ this summer. People need some serious re-evaluation of their expectation levels.
  2. Playing him in one of the wide attacking roles is borderline criminal, not only does he offer nothing as a winger but it means we'd be neglecting to buy an actual one as we'd be just dumping Gallagher out there.
  3. Giving Gallagher a new deal, dreadful stuff. Absolutely sums up this regime, just the easiest, laziest solution to any problem.
  4. He'd probably play better in a JE setup, as opposed to JDT's as well, tbh.
  5. 100%. We are set for a summer of further cutbacks and no money to spend. Probably why the rumours of signing Fleck and Fadz back up are swirling. Looks like we'll get the job done proper next season, bottom 3 no doubts. FFS the season finished a week ago and we are already a fucking shambles.
  6. Broughton has been on borrowed time for a while now. After ballsing up 3 (3!!) transfers under his watch it was only a matter of time till he was sacked. As others have said, a clear (and clever) power grab move by Waggott. If they replace him, it'll probably be a Waggott recommendation, which will undoubtedly be lower in the food chain than he is.
  7. I've not watched the interview but saying he'd jump at a prem move sounds like a come and get me plea, probably his last/only chance of a move to a PL club. The point about Eustace is a concern as these types of managers tend to start well and end badly, over a reasonably short period of time.
  8. Was going to say, letting Gallagher go and bringing in another injury prone, 5 goals per season striker, is exactly what we need to avoid.
  9. Certainly not if those 3 clubs are genuinely interested
  10. There was no timescale on Flecks latest injury but he had to go and have surgery for it. I can't imagine he'll be back anytime soon, he's 32 years old and has played about 2 games in the last 2 years. I can't for the life of me see why he would get a new contract.
  11. Jesus wept, what a start to the summer window. If this is where we are at, another relegation battle looms. When is he even back fit? (Never, I assume)
  12. I know who's tweeted it but assume he's got that stat from somewhere else.
  13. They spent a bit of money, didn't they? Assuming the owners wanted playoffs as a minimum.
  14. Will we be hearing anything from Gregg the Egg, or will it be radio silence until the window shuts?
  15. His lack of consistency is exactly why he isn't good enough. For every good save he makes (against Leicester & Leeds), he makes an absolute clanger (Sheff Wed & Ipswich). He's still poor on Crosses and doesn't command his defence like the better keepers do.
  16. A new No.1 should most definitely be a priority for the summer. Pears isn't good enough. I noticed that after the Leicester game, the interview with JRC, Szmodics & Pickering, they were all quick to praise him. I think the players know that the fans don't rate him and they're trying to get him some backing via the interview.
  17. I'm not convinced by Eustace but to be fair to him, he had 1 task and that was to keep us in the league and he did it. Managed to pick up wins in the 2 hardest fixtures of the season but dropped points against lesser teams, probably not the most straightforward of routes to safety but we stayed up. As noted by others already, he'll need to change his approach next season or it will be much of the same. A lot will come down to recruitment, which is likely to be another summer disaster, so that will hamper him even further.
  18. Shame, a promotion winning manager saw something in him, I would have him starting every week tbh.
  19. We need an entirely new attacking lineup. They'll sell Szmodics at the first opportunity as well. They are an absolute disgrace of an ownership.
  20. Absolutely delighted we stayed up and won today, as every result went against us. If Venkys don't invest though, it's just delaying the inevitable.
  21. Agreed on the no pressure bit. They will probably play their best football of the season against us.
  22. It'll be mildly interesting to see which club Szmodics ends up signing for. That's as good as its going to get this summer.
  23. It would just be typical of having the curse of Venkys over us that there 81 possibilities, only 2 result in relegation for Rovers and yet we still go down.
