Fair play to the QPR manager/coach. There's not much loyalty or integrity in football these days so it's unusual to see someone turn down the chance to manage in the Premier League at a bigger club when it is offered. He's obviously got QPR playing well and at the top of the league and his staying there will give them a big boost and doesn't help us or any of the other promotion-chasing teams

Sunderland's next game at home to Burnley. They didn't get the rub of the green against us so let's hope they get some luck in the next one Black Cats 2 Mongrels 0 -

Let’s face it, if that penalty decision had been us we’d have felt aggrieved too. Most refs would have given it. It’s the rub of the green; we’ve had some bad decisions against us over the years. Perhaps Tomasson is a lucky manager? We’ve been abysmal in the games I’ve seen this season yet we’re top of the league! -

Brereton worked very hard and scored a great goal but dearie me, he needs to work at playing a better final ball and weighting and timing his passes better. He should have set up at least 3 chances in the last 15 minutes but fluffed it every time -

I'd take Garrett off, he's one young player too many in this team and he looks overawed by it. Brittain can play anywhere because he's a good footballer but left back isn't like right back and he gets his angles wrong. They've sent in some dangerous crosses from his side -

Brilliant goal but Sunderland should have had a penalty -
I'm not surprised. I predicted months ago somewhere on the messageboard (maybe this thread, can't remember) you'd be easy top 6. It's not a strong division and the fact a misfiring team like Rovers are within reach of the top shows there's a lack of quality. Should be an interesting encounter at the Turf next month!!

When he was in the mood Rothwell was a dangerous attacking player. No many players have the ability to take the ball past opponents from deep. I'd like to have seen him play at Ewood under a different manager who either believed in him more or was prepared to crack the whip. We'll never know now but on his day when he's playing well he's been missed -

There's been a couple of occasions in recent matches where his touch has let him down and cost us a possible goal....... but I don't think it's his fault. Anyone who's played the game and been out for a lengthy period would tell you that regaining "match" sharpness takes a long time. I'm sure if he had a decent run of at least 10 games in which he started, his touch would come back. -

Formations don't matter. If we play the same way, with the same negative away from home mindset and the same ineffective passing from the back game, we'll lose. It's as simple as that. And assuming he's playing the immutable law of the ex says Lenihan will score -

I didn't realise George Hirst is the son of former Sheffield Wednesday striker David Hirst. All I can say is he's not good enough to lace his dad's boots David Hirst was an absolutely top-notch striker in the days when Wednesday had a very fine team. He had pace, height, heading ability, strength and dribbling and finishing skills and but for injuries would have won far more many England caps. He was better than Lineker IMO and would be an automatic pick for England today
