  1. Filbert St? We were lighting up the Kingpower! Tonight was a reminder of why you love football and keep on going match after match, year after year, even when it's rainy and cold and the team's rubbish and you hate the manager and the owners - it's all worth it when you get nights like tonight Tonight was a throwback to the mid-1960s, the 1970s under Kendall, the glory days of the1990s, the Cardiff league cup win in 2002, the Cup semi-final against Chelsea at Old Trafford in 2007 - the atmosphere the fervour and noise of the fans driven by the excellent performance of the team was from another era A brilliant night for the club and the fans and I won't let Jack Vale spoil it except to (if I could) ask him if he really wants to be a professional footballer Rovers have set the standard now. Same again against Sheffield United please.
  2. Stunning win. Best I’ve seen us play in a long time Should have scored more. 4-1 and Leicester couldn’t have complained Whatever pills Gallagher took before the game he needs to take them again Rovers fans in great voice. brilliant night all round
  3. The League cup debacle in Cardiff cost me about £250 in tickets, petrol money, food etc. I might as well have burnt that money - it was a total waste. Even with the weakened team, it was clear the Rovers players couldn't be bothered - and that came from the manager. I was angry but disappointed most of all for 3 youngsters with me who were let down by the club. Tomasson isn't a useless creep like Kean but the same thing must not happen at Leicester and Rovers field a weakened side that surrenders tamely. We've a big following going down there and they deserve to be treated with respect.
  4. The wheels are coming off Bazball very quickly tonight
  5. Hedges for Thomas, with Hedges playing the winger's role, should be the only change from the QPR match
  6. Nah, he just cashed in on it as an after-dinner speaker for decades Allegedly
  7. Would Burnley give Rovers a guard of honour if the circumstances were reversed? Of course, they wouldn't, and you wouldn't expect them to either Some people have mashed potatoes instead of grey matter
  8. We're not going to make the top 2. We've 12 more games left, 36 points at stake. When we've thrown points away already in so many games, one game over the course of the season is unlikely to make the difference between reaching the play-offs or not. Teams chasing honours don't rest their best players, and the best players would want to be playing anyway Tomasson has a moral duty to fans and the integrity of the FA Cup to field his strongest team
  9. Disagree. League points dropped can be retrieved This is a one-off game. A quarter-final of the FA Cup is at stake. The last eight. Two games from a Wembley FA Cup final for the first time since 1960. The chance to make some club history Nothing should be more important than that.
  10. We've got our tickets and are looking forward to this one I hope and fully expect Tomasson to play a full strength team, and in view of yesterday's performance that means, barring injuries, starting with the team that played at QPR I do not expect to see fringe players picked and to do so would be an insult to Rovers fans who have made the effort to attend and the competition Leicester have some very dangerous players such as Maddison, Barnes and Tielemens and it will be a big test for the team Predicting a scoreline is futile. The pressure for league points is off and I'm just hoping the Rovers players give a good account of themselves. A repeat of the excitement and fun at West Ham in the league cup would be jolly good
  11. Championship: Two strikers and midfield tough guy / playmaker. Possibly better left back Premier League: Virtually a total clearout bar one or two and a Forest-style spending spree
  12. Possibly. Thomas isn't great but he gives the team width and Gallagher obviously has his limitations but is a more conventional centre forward than Brereton. We certainly played with more freedom and looked more potent in attack yesterday than having to rely on long balls into the left hand corner for Brereton to chase.
  13. First goal was a header from a couple of yards. He was in the right place but then a decent centre forward should be. 2nd goal was laid on a plate by JRC Let's not get carried away. He had one of his better games but his all round general play was again not very good. He needs to score more regularly to make up for the deficiencies in the rest of the game.
  14. There were several horrendous away performances earlier in the season - some of the worst I’ve seen from a Rovers team. Tomasson deserved criticism for those and he’ll get it again when our fortunes take another dip which they inevitably will. Looking at the big picture though performances are improving lately and he got a lot of things right yesterday.
  15. Chair going off made a big difference. Up until QPR had been playing quite well but they had little to offer after that and we totally locked them out in the second half. Gallagher continues to frustrate despite his goals. He’s got all the physical attributes yet still gets knocked off the ball easily and doesn’t win as many headers as he should. You do wonder about his football brain sometimes. He had a break down the right in the second hall on his own and still crossed the ball despite their being no Rovers players in the penalty area. Why? Perhaps it’s a lack of confidence. Thomas had an indifferent game too and is still nowhere near the player who fired Huddersfield into the playoffs. Perhaps he needs time Overall though we put in a very decent shift and were so much better than previous away games we’ve attended this season. We looked like a team chasing promotion. The players have set the standard now and they need to keep up that level of performance for the rest of the season
  16. Yes and very enjoyable it was too QPR were poor but Rovers played well. Should have been more than 3 Rovers fans in good voice. Gareth Ainsworth reminded of where his heart really is 😀
  17. Gallagher what a good player Never doubted him
  18. Bad news - we weren't going but now we are Our record in 7 away games is 1 point from 21 Good news - with a bit of luck we can win this one
  19. On present form, they can't, Bairstow blow hot and cold though, and has persistent problems with his technique. This lad looks a much better player so far. As always, openers still open to question. Crawley players only one way - which is to attack. You can't do that all the time and any decent bowler will get him out.
  20. Brilliant recovery from a perilous position. I haven't seen alot of Brook but the lad's record since he came into Test cricket is outstanding and in the bits I've seen he looks the real deal as a Test batsman. Pity he's a Yorkie 😄
  21. The walking wicket that is Zak Crawley out already
  22. How are ticket sales going?
