  1. Has to be the concern. Squad is really thin beyond the first 11 or so and we may need to peel too far beyond that main team on Saturday.
  2. Obviously the first goal is important but we lost v Swansea, Birmingham and Sheff United after scoring the first goal. And our only home win (and draw) came after conceding first.
  3. Hedges certainly suits the wing back role more than being a winger. He still isnt very productive in the final third but there is less onus on that in this system and he plays this position as if hes played it lots before.
  4. I thought the injury time was inevitable due to the injury to Toth, and to a much lesser extent to Wharton. Alebiosu I think got a slight touch on the ball, although it looked to be just outside the box anyway.
  5. I dont think anyone on here felt that he was likely to flourish playing at a much higher level. Obviously made the correct move as you should always strive to better yourself and has already played against some great teams and played lots of game time. But he was still undoubtedly a loss for us.
  6. I thought we did although it may have been a mixture of tiredness and poorer players coming on towards the very end. We just had to grind it out and get over the line whichbwe did. Obviously the fact we were ahead changes the dynamic but for example Alebiosu looked out on his feet, we dont have a big enough squad so its understandable as a few are being flogged, including Alebiosu. Wharton obviously broke down too, and I thought Hedges started to tire but we needed his discipline. Sinclair Armstrong is a really poor player, I was pleased when he came on.
  7. Fantastic victory, big achievement to win 3 on the bounce. And fair play to Ismael, a man who has had lots of fair criticism, but hes changed system, hes got a very limited squad available to him but weve managed to grind out 9 crucial points from 3 games. I though we looked good in the first half and perhaps with a bit more care could have been more than 1 up. The general standard of the second half by both teams was really poor, we just had to really dig in to get that over the line. I think the injury to Sykes leaving them a man short really helped because although we looked out on our feet. Performance wise. Ohashi was probably our best player, I think it suits him and Gudjohnsen to play together, although the latter wasnt as effective tonight. Miller I think clearly has very useful attributes and for 89 minutes did well, but his total moment of madness cost us Tronstad (who up to then was very good) and thankfully not a goal. Wharton and McLoughlin were solid. Alebiosu was excellent again first half then seemed to tire badly in the second. Hedges is best suited to being a wing back. Miroshita is a mixed bag but has ability and is a clear upgrade on Henriksson. The obvious worry has always been when you peel beyond our competitive first 11, we look really thin. That side that ended the game would really struggle on its own. Gueye up front, Pears in net, Forshaw in midfield, Henriksson in attacking midfield and Ribeiro in a back 3. God knows what sort of side will play at the weekend, I just hope that Wharton and Toth are ok and that we can get the others back after a much needed break.
  8. That would be a big problem.
  9. I wonder how Suhail and Gestede are getting on in amending the minutes.
  10. Not as much as Matt Le Tissier who is the obvious choice.
  11. I know its my opinion. Whereas yours is seemingly that £90 for a football shirt is reasonable.
  12. I havent, no. But the point is that £90 is an absolutely ridiculous price if its true.
  13. Id love to know how many sales are made at £90 a pop. Anyone that gets it has more money than sense.
  14. I think it will have been the Wolves fans comments that put him off!
  15. He was sacked last season with 9 points after 16 games. Pereira then got 33 from 22 games. How they can decide a year on that actually he is the man to take them forward is beyond me.
  16. Jamie Carragher has said that it isnt a surprise that O'Neil is set to be appointed at Wolves because, and its typical pundit rubbish, he "knows the club." He does know the club, he got sacked a year ago because he was failing with it. Surely even an unknown is better than someone who they actively know has already failed with a lot of the same players! Im sure it helps that O'Neil was apparently on Monday Night Football 2 weeks ago.
  17. He was doing terrible when they left, everything had gone into chaos, discipline had totally gone and they appeared doomed. Pereira came in and did a great job rescuing them which made him a candidate for manager of the season. Wolves fans appear to be absolutely fuming about his potential reappointment.
  18. Based on merit and current ability rather than nostalgia and cliche? A really unusual idea from me.
  19. Wharton has always had a mistake in him, hes not very good on the ball and turns like a milk float. Nothing to do with coming through the academy.
  20. Leonard and Dolan are not comparable. Leonard never really had an impact for us and has gone down a division. He was also never available. Dolan was always available, whether hes up to the standards of a far superior league is irrelevant. He was an important and had become a productive player for us and is a big miss.
  21. By affiliation, I am obviously referring back to the initial argument that a former player/manager shouldnt be automatically preferred purely due to nostalgia. Loads of poorer European leagues similar to the SPL have 4 fixtures against each team due to the league being smaller. I am sure lots also have strong religious links. Its irrelevant to the manager anyway, the job is the same, to win football matches.
  22. I bloody hope not. But none of them are similar to Tronstad.
  23. Hes not the same type of player, nor is he close to the same quality. He lacks Tronstad's ability to screen the defence, you saw that at the weekend when he just totally switched off at one point, stood still and a runner just ran off him so easily. He also isnt as good on the ball. And then who will replace TGH?
  24. Cantwell is out until after the international break anyway so we dont know if it will be a winning side.
