Championship Season 2020 - 2021
roversfan99 replied to Hoochie Bloochie Mama's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Makes absolutely no sense to spend more money once they are down, none at all. If I was a Norwich fan I would be fuming as to how the whole club conducted itself last year but this summer at least they are being proactive. -
My point was that I dont want us to loan a young goalkeeper in. We do not want someone in such a critical position learning on the job for someone elses benefit. Its an area that I would prefer someone with experience. We had someone very talented who made mistakes who was ours and we gave him away cheaply. To keep replacing him with young keepers who again are a bit raw who go back after a year is crazy. Oh behave chaddy. The only thing we know about this player of any expertise is a long analysis which does not paint him in a favourable light even in the Polish league where he was relegated and struggled to establish himself. Why would that provoke positive opinion? Dont think it means ill be booing everytime he got near the ball if he signed. Muric hasnt even been linked, you randomly mentioned him.
-
I suspect that money will be very tight but you do say this every single time to be fair.
-
Jesus. Lets hope we avoid!
-
Seems like a strange one. Maybe one for the under 23s, surely not as Adarabioyos replacement.
-
i suspect we are looking at loans across the board. For me though, barring exceptional circumstances, I cannot get on board with signing a kid on loan to put in net. Even more so after being stung by Calamity Walton who had actually favourable experience of first team football compared to most of the names mentioned. It is not a position where you want someone elses player learning the ropes making mistakes for you. Obviously we are only dealing predominantly in suggestions from supporters, with the occasional (most likely agent driven) rumour chucked in. The 2 players mentioned that I would like are Dillon Phillips and David Marshall. Both available you would suspect for low fees post relegation, whether we can afford even that I am skeptical of. Phillips has just had a very impressive personal season and is still young for a keeper. Marshall would bring plenty of experience and kept plenty of clean sheets. I think both would be the type of player we need, not random kids 6th choice at their parent clubs.

We might be looking for a keeper on loan, we might be looking for a permanent one, we dont know. I am just saying that I would not be happy IF we did sign a young goalkeeper on loan, ie the list of kids that you presented. Walton was young, but did have a few years of League experience, but was ultimately shite and error prone. You can understand it if he was our own, like Raya was. A random kid from a Premier League team in such a key position? No thanks. If you cant say a story then fair play, dont post it at all. Saying "we are busy" posting emojis and innuendo and claiming to know the inside track is not of use but just serves to wind people up because he hasnt actually provided any genuine information, any links, any names, anything tangible to discuss so its totally pointless, yet I suppose if people like yourself are hanging off his every word then it makes it all worthwhile. The vast majority of these transfer rumours that we have linked with will no doubt be total rubbish, agents provoking interest etc, I am still of the assumpton that Mowbray is trying to figure out his budget. As @Mattyblue says it is silly season and some people are lapping it up knowing that people get kicks off "ITK" transfer gossip.
-
Yes they signed him as number 1 and that idea soon went. Yeah I said I was skeptical but that I appreciated that he had not played in his correct position. We dont need another kid on loan in net. If it is our own ie if it was Raya then fair enough.
-
The reason that you are getting "stick" is not because youve come on with "actual info" but more because you come on dismissing people claiming to know exactly what is going on without being willing to reveal what it is. So it makes the whole thing pointless.
-
Surely goalkeeper is the priority position? Youve been saying for months how you expect a keeper churned out from our nice new scouting network and now a kid on loan will do you just fine ?
-
That Muric is absolute dog shit. I believe that Brighton have a talented young keeper called Christian something or other.
-
Where even is your "info" though, barring that we are busy?
-
Totally agree with @Mattyblue there is absolutely no point coming on here claiming this insight into the world of football as if you know loads of information that you are refusing to reveal. If you cant say, fair enough and dont mention it at all as it just rubs people up the wrong way. On the off chance that you do know, just makes you come across as desperate for attention if I am being honest. I suppose whilst people eat out of your hand then it is worthwhile because people seem to get very excited over the mere sniff of transfer gossip which I have never personally understood. But all of this crypticness makes Alan Nixon look straight to the point.
-
I think you may be disapointed. Id take our budget being sorted by the end of next week.
-
Absolutely. I suspect that the vast majority of supposed links are absolute bollocks.

Championship season 2019-20

The perfecr counter attacking goal by Brentford. Excellent claim and quick distribution by Raya. Superb pass by Jensen and then the finish by Watkins albeit questionable keeping for me at the other end. -
I dont understand the regular clamour to include coaching duties in the contracts of ageing players. Players should only be given deals if they warrant them solely on the pitch. For me, finances permitting Downing does. There is no indicator that Downing, or indeed Graham etc before him are either capable or willing coaches.
-
If a Premier League team comes in offering Armstrong football at a higher level for a bigger wage then 99% of people in that position would push for the move. The idea of him being unable to replicate his form under any other manager is madness. My main doubt regarding player sales is are any good enough to attract a Premier League team? Not sure. Maybe the relegated Premier League teams are most likely candidates.
-
I dont doubt that Mowbray has a real inability to select or indeed sign competent wide men but Nyambe is definitely a more defensive full back and indeed he has always been really reluctant going forward and lacking an end product when he does. My point was that the chance of signing someone at this time equally capable going both ways is incredibly unlikely and if Nyambe is willing to sign a new deal the obvious solution is to persist with him. The main priority is stopping us conceding so mang

No point having Brereton in a wider role. Him and Gallagher should be central players, initially backing up Dack and Armstrong. The only player that has scope to play wide out of the 4 is Armstrong, but ideally we should have him central and only move him wide if and when Gallagher or Brereton hit some form central.
-
With any minimal proceeds from a Nyambe sale (I dont see a market for him) we can get such a right back capable of doing both, as well as a left back. Besides, I thought that you wanted Rankin Costello to be converted to a right back. Nyambe is the best we can get at the moment, yes he cant attack very well, but he can defend which is the main thing we need to fix. If he wants to run down his contract, maybe, but that is total conjecture. Hopefully he will sign long term and carry on at right back.
-
I presume that you know and can share these 2 teams then?

Why is there this counterargument now that we are under no obligation to reveal our budget?! Who is asking for that? Saying "we havent had clarity on our budget" would not be necessary or relevant had we got a budget agreed, or even almost agreed, and wouldnt have been said. I think you are just believing every single rumour and bit of gossip that you read which is up to you but ultimately not proof that a budget has been agreed even if we have interest in each of these supposed players, which we wont. And then using these bits of gossip to speculate about our supposed transfer kitty. "Hanging on to the managers every word." He said numerous times including a week ago that he lacked clarity from Venkys and sounded frustrated. Made numerous references to them having other business interests which certainly did not indicate that the budget was sorted bar a few minor technicalities and just needed finalising, he sounded totally in the dark. Venkys past history of disinterest doesnt bide well either and certainly doesnt prompt the sane mind to assume that everything is in place and in hand but just not rubber stamped.
-
Yeah, saying that a budget is agreed does not mean disclosing how much the budget is. Strawman argument. Specifically and repeatedly declaring a lack of clarity tells its own story and its the same old story.
-
I dont think the only alternative to "ive had no clarity from India" is "i know my exact budget is £x."
