  1. Dear me. I hope the club do a bit of digging and issue some bans… mind you, often the gobbiest fans on social media don’t go to any games.
  2. It’s scandalous really that a Rovers player can get his head turned by bloody Bournemouth. Time to redress that and crack on with getting promoted. Giles plus another 1 or 2 in, with no first team outgoings would be a phenomenal window and give us every chance.
  3. Bournemouth appear to be doing exactly what we did in 1992. Bulking out their squad with anyone and everyone, targeting and sometimes getting players from promotion rivals. We finished 6th. Just.
  4. The worst possible scenario here is that we end up stuck with an unhappy and resented Rothwell, and we end up forcing through the sale of a different key player to finance deals we have lined up.
  5. I will post more after I’ve slept, but Vince, Bruce Prichard and Kevin Dunn need removing from their positions immediately.
  6. Yep. Vince is definitely regressing at this point.
  7. I hadn’t paid much attention to the other matches. Amazing how far Doudrop has come, wasn’t long ago she was regularly trying to coax passable matches out barely trained girls in Evoque for PCW!
  8. Took a fair bit of scrolling to find this thread! Royal Rumble time! I haven’t watched any WWE apart from the odd clip in ages and I’m completely out of the loop. I love the rumble though, and with it being a Saturday I’m going to attempt to stay up and watch. I’ve put a few bets on to keep it interesting. Hoping for some surprises! Big E looks to be a good shout, but I noticed earlier it’s in St Louis so Orton could be a good outside pick. Apparently Rousey is back, so can’t see beyond her in the womens.
  9. This bit is the worry for me. The entire structure behind the scenes seems really convoluted, and remits unclear. As much as I’ve criticised the pair of them in the past, Mowbray and Waggott have got me believing a return to the top flight is possible. Venky’s need to show them some trust and let them get on with trying to succeed in that. If Mowbray wants him gone, he should be gone, and he should be allowed to reinvest the funds.
  10. If there’s anything in the Rothwell to Brentford rumours I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Marcus Forss come on loan the other way. He’s HSH’s golden boy.
  11. Maybe Mowbray has been inspired by Dyche’s use of Cornet? If so, never admit it Tony! Pretty happy with that, all things considered.
  12. Alongside a Travis I definitely think so.
  13. Try reading the post I was replying to. It specifically mentioned Harrison Reed as a player we had supposedly failed.
  14. I said Van Hecke was a better loan signing for us than Elliott, not a better player than Elliott.
  15. “Any loan signings should benefit Rovers more than, or as much as they benefit the player. Van Hecke is proving to be a much better loan signing than Reed or Elliott, we look to finally have cracked it.” Elliott’s spell with us did wonders for his Liverpool career, but not a great deal for us as a club.
  16. One played an integral part of a 15th place finish, the other is playing an integral part of a real promotion push.
  17. Couldn’t give a toss about nurturing Harrison Reed. Not our player, no point. Any loan signings should benefit Rovers more than, or as much as they benefit the player. Van Hecke is proving to be a much better loan signing than Reed or Elliott, we look to finally have cracked it. I’d have agreed with you on Nyambe up until 12 months ago, might agree with you again if he is dropped tomorrow. Spot on with Raya, but I don’t think Rothwell can have too many complaints. I think the fact it’s took him til this season to consistently perform is largely on him.
  18. Anyone else heard a whisper about Everton?
  19. Facebook reports a few weeks back had Nyambe “saying his goodbyes” at Brockhall. Fingers crossed there’s as much truth in this latest story as there was in that.
  20. Obviously I’d prefer that we didn’t. But if Rothwell doesn’t make it, it’s a tight pitch, and promises to be a physical game, I’d prefer Zeefuik to start over Johnson.
  21. The improvements in both Lenihan and Rothwell this season have been enormous. I thought they’d probably both plateaued in terms of their development, but at 27 they have both really pushed on. Any contracts they were offered 18 months ago definitely need revisiting and upping. I’d disagree with your assessment of the Nyambe situation. It’s well documented there is a real issue in terms of contract offers for academy graduates. Nyambe is now a well established first teamer and an international who will be nearing 200 first team appearances by the end of the season. He shouldn’t be bracketed in with players like Butterworth, Rankin-Costello and, as good as he has been, Wharton. He’s been paid less than Davenport and up until last summer Chapman, and all the whispers I am hearing suggest his offer (again put on the table 18 months ago) was a poor one, certainly not in keeping with his position in the squad. We may well see a similar situation with Travis next year. Anyway, it makes little sense for the club or players to arty too much about contracts right now. Revisit it when next season is a bit clearer.
  22. I’ve been saying for a while that Butterworth just needed a goal and that would calm him down, take the pressure off, help him make better decisions, and he’d be away. That exact same incident on Monday stood out to me too though, it looked like he couldn’t be bothered. He bottled a 50/50 too, and it really wasn’t the game for shirkers. Still think he has the potential to come good, but needs a marked improvement in attitude and application from what we saw against Boro.
  23. If they haven’t they never will! I hope that Waggott has stressed to them that this is their best chance of turning Rovers from a liability to an asset overnight.
  24. I’m pretty sure the powers that be would’ve bitten their hands off if we were sat 12th in the table. Looks like the promotion push is being taken seriously.
