  1. It’s infuriating. How is Samuel starting for us if we have any ambition to get out of this division! Has to come off at HT
  2. Woods in the middle for them dominating our midfield.
  3. Can see a draw so we all know it’s over but Cardiff losing too so it’s still possible mathematically, leading to it all dragging on to the last week where we need about 6 results to go our way, rueing our missed opportunities.
  4. Let’s just hope for better than that FA Cup QF a few years back. Odds on to reach Wembley and we completely bottled it. To think, Wigan went on to win it all
  5. Their share price has also risen something like 250% since they bought us to today’s price (400%+ pre-COVID), yet has made no difference in how they invested over those years. I do agree that I’m expecting nothing positive due to the shit show that is 2020 alongside bleak FFP. They are as rogue as it comes though so who knows.
  6. For Bristol C, PNE and Derby to get to 70 points they need to win all 3 of their matches. (Derby play Cardiff and Leeds, PNE play Brentford and Bristol C and Bristol C play PNE and Swans) We’re guaranteed to finish above Millwall if we win all 3. So it’s Swansea and Cardiff realistically who could get to 70 and beat us if we win all 3 matches For Cardiff they need to win 2 of 3, their run in is fairly easy. Swans need to win 2 and draw 1 from 4 (including Leeds, Forest and Bristol C)
  7. Personally I think 69 will do it with a strong goal difference (so long as Leeds get a result vs Swansea today). If Swans win today then we are out of it. Beat Millwall and Reading and we will go into the Luton game with a chance regardless.
  8. Big day for Bristol C and Millwall. Top 10 all play each other while they have Boro and Hull. Both making the most of it right now.
  9. It’s something I’d love to see, but just cannot imagine Venkys being bothered about or even aware of (despite what Waggott says). Modernise with facilities within the stand rather than to the sides, local breweries and caterers, move the club shop inside and use the current space for better outside facilities. Perhaps a museum with old memorabilia. All things that get supporters to the stadium earlier and maybe get an extra £5 out of everyone each week on a drink or food as they’re arriving at 13:30 rather than 14:30. If they were really serious, I’d look at other stands too, much smaller job but space the rows out to increase leg room and comfort, easy way to reduce capacity slightly (maybe losing 3 or 4 rows per stand), but it wouldn’t affect our attendances at any stage
  10. Sam Vokes has looked really good in this opening 15 mins. Winning everything in the air and linking up play well. Good outlet considering they’ll be playing off scraps here. Looking every bit the footballer that Gallagher isn’t.
  11. Let’s be honest. We need to win all 4 games to have a chance, potentially 1 draw and 3 wins but that would rely on a lot of results going our way. It’s over, let’s just hope we can sort ourselves out in the short off season.
  12. All I can think is how did we come away from Wigan and Barnsley with 0 points. We’re going to beat West Brom and Millwall then bottle it to Reading/Luton aren’t we
  13. If Tony does go (I can’t see it happening myself) then I don’t want us to go anywhere near the revolving failures (Pulis, Hughes and the likes). It’s not progressive in any way. Look at Nuno and Bielsa who came to the Championship, albeit for much richer clubs, even Wagner taking Hudds up, or Farke taking Norwich up.
  14. There is a lot of deadwood to sort out. I’d be shot of everyone below if possible: Walton, Williams, Mulgrew, Bennett, Johnson, Smallwood, Rothwell, Chapman, Samuel, Gallagher. More likely to see more names above on new contracts with us next year than playing elsewhere though. That’s the reality with Mowbray
  15. Cardiff winning will finish the season for anyone who still had doubts. We haven’t improved on last year despite spending more than most and adding some chunky wages in SG, SD and BJ. Tony should walk, obviously he won’t. He’s not the man to take us forward and next season is going to be a horrible watch if we continue like this
  16. What do we think we could get for Gallagher and Brereton now? I don’t think we’d get £5m combined.
  17. It’s as if it’s the same names popping up game after game, who’d have thought it.
  18. Completely agree with this. He offers absolutely nothing but gets the most game time out of our strikers...only reason is an attempted justification on £5m and highest wages in the team. I give Samuel a lot of stick, but he costs a fraction of the amount and offers similar.
  19. Millwall have a nice run of fixtures, whilst Derby have a horrible run in. Personally I think it’s between Cardiff and Millwall. As for ourselves, to have a sniff we have to beat both Cardiff and Millwall away as well as at least 2 others, very slim indeed. 3 points from Wigan and Barnsley and who knows, I fear we’ll be looking back at that week for a few gloomy years to come as our best chance in a long time. Reminiscent of throwing away a 3-1 lead to draw 3-3 with Sheff Wed and then 0-0 at home to Yeovil back to back in Bowyers years.
  20. https://mobile.twitter.com/marksparko/status/1279000646335836163 A good thread here about just how corrupt the whole thing is. EFL are such a shambles
  21. Maybe we should spend money in the right places then... How are those £12m strikers going (+ their wages)? I’m not even sure what you’re arguing.
  22. Fair enough Chaddy, looks like a few contact extensions given they only signed a handful of players that year. My point still stands. They had exactly the same squad bar a keeper on a free, a championship striker for £7m, a loanee from a Prem club and a LB . (sounds like Walton, Brereton, Tosin and...(we didn’t get a LB?)) Yet he still took them from mid-table to 3rd and then promotion. He didn’t even need Tony’s transfer budget!
  23. “The club's total wage bill was £20million, with about £16million being spent on the first-team squad's salaries. Again, this is another area which will change dramatically next season, as the wage bill has increased by approximately £8million this year.“ Taken from a Leeds newspaper on the back of their 2017 figures, so not sure where £46m has come from.
