I was willing to overlook the first squad being regressive, as it was his first one, but both of Tuchel's squads have been disappointing in my view. Some past it players included and some bang in form players overlooked, pretty much the opposite of how it should be.

Because he has absolutely no experience. I think Waggott did a terrible job and I'm glad he's going, but Christ, things could get far worse with someone less experience.

Owning a football club is an exercise in philanthropy, unless you’re 1 of about 5 clubs in the world, who actually make money. If you aren’t willing to fund heavy losses, it ain’t for you. It typically appeals to egos too, hence the likes of Ryan Reynolds at Wrexham.

If nothing else, the goal from Palace was an antidote to aimless passing for the sake of it, with some quick wing play and a smart finish. Moving the ball quickly with purpose, been a while since I’ve seen that at the top level!

It's great that we want to promote academy players and it's something I fully support. With the added caveat that they have to be good enough, otherwise, unfortunately, they'll drag us down.

Thanks for the update Captain Obvious 👍. I know that, but the owners should be putting more money into the club. If they aren’t willing to, then they should sell. It’s not that hard to understand.

We should have the money, our owners are billionaires. Even aside from that, we’ve sold all our best players and not spent anywhere near all of it to replace them with, so we absolutely should have the money.

Mr Miller made this point very well as the Fans Forum meeting, last time out- but basically saying, that he was buying a season ticket for the first team, not the under 23s. First team prices, youth team football.....

But then, I guess this question could be flipped on its head too. What's the point of a professional football club, if promotion isn't even a short-term goal?
