  1. We needed a win, we got one, I'm happy about it, as any other supporter of this fine football club of ours should be. If you're not, what's the point? Anyway, a victory on Saturday is much more important. Let's hope we follow this up with another. Winning is a very good habit to get into.
  2. Most seem to double up as Chinese takeaways these days so while the Chinese grub is quality, the fish and chips can suffer imo. That being said, my local Kam Po is great at both!
  3. The manager needs to know his best XI and pick them whenever available as far as I'm concerned. Changing for the sake of it upsets the rhythm and over-complicates things. Incidentally, I do think Mowbray seems to be doing exactly that and looking at things in too much detail at times and Blueboy is right, it is a bit of a worry.
  4. How the roles are reversed, some gimp famous for appearing on a dreadful TV show is more famous than a footballer.
  5. They've finally got a good manager in Rowett, I think this will be his platform to thrive. They've always had a good squad and I think he will get the most out of them.
  6. I can't see 'Boro winning the league tbh. I can see Monk getting until about Xmas, getting found out, then getting the chop, maybe the new man will get them into the play-offs. Villa and Derby for automatic promotion. Fulham, Norwich, Wednesday and Hull for the play-offs most likely. Millwall to go down, can't say re the other two......
  7. Ha, I find the casual culture quite interesting tbh. There was (maybe still is) a documentary about the casual movement on Netflix and features Darwen's very own Gary Aspden (brand manager or something like that at Adidas).
  8. Moncler has become the 'new Stone Island' if you will IMO. I've only got one item of Stone Island clothing, which is some jeans that my ex-girlfriend's brother gifted to me because he didn't want them any more. Luckily for him, I gratefully accepted them as it's great quality clothing that does go the distance in fairness..... Good article that, though. The amount of North Face and Patagonia stuff you see around these days is nuts. AAAAND, I've gone off topic!
  9. The agents' fees of Mino Raoila, Neymar's wages(don't forget these will likely be a lot higher than he receives due to the high earners tax in France)/transfer fee and the other complete rubbish sideshow that you see in news media all over the gaff, these are the things that have really put me off. Rovers being absolute toilet is the best supporting actor. 'The beautiful game' has got the ugliest soul nowadays.
  10. In July, I've been to Beat Herder and Kendal Calling festivals and had a great time at both, even if Kendal Calling was a bit too muddy. I reckon I'll turn my phone off until the end of August now... I've got a few minor complaints about Kendal Calling as a festival in that the headliners are too big and there aren't that many medium sized bands. Also, The Glow Tent (Dance area) is always too full later on and I went to the bar from there when watching one act, returned to it and couldn't get back in! Though, I did meet Thomas Turgoose (Shaun from This is England) at the latter, which was quite funny. Nice guy. (There is photographic evidence of this, I'm just not au fait with uploading photos on here). Next month, I've got Mr. Jukes (ex-singer of Bombay Bicycle Club's solo project), then the newly Mercury Prize nominated Loyle Carner and Little Dragon in October.
  11. £3k in assets, but he lives in a gated mansion. I suspect the latter will be the first to go (assuming he owns it).
