  1. Feeling very optimistic. Rovers to win and clinch a play off place. Who gave us a chance at Leeds or Leicester last season - this match reminiscent of the Leicester game with SU nowt to play for. A 90% and a few players rested SU 1, a fired up Rovers 3.
  2. The most likely scenario especially as SU will fancy their chances more against Rovers in play offs than against another opponent.
  3. Well done John Eustace - mission almost accomplished at Derby. Delighted for him after his disillusionment here.
  4. Leeds will bury them - they want the title.
  5. Preston in deep, deep trouble. Fancy both Luton (@WBA) and Hull (@Pompey) to avoid defeat - dead rubbers for opponents Bristol City will need a win to guarantee play offs and will see PNE off who are in freefall.
  6. Told injured in training yesterday and taken to hospital for checks. Rovers 3-1 today and to win next weekend so we all end up feckin miserable - so near yet so far.
  7. In my eyes, excruciating to watch and a car crash of an interview. IMO, Gestede is way, way out of his depth - seriously lacking in Integrity, nous and credibility. How can an individual who as a Rovers' player wanted a way out of the club after we resurrected a stuttering playing career 'preach' to the fans about trust and loyalty. Personally, I see Gestede as arrogant, hypocritical and untrustworthy. God help us if this man succeeds Waggott as CEO - think Rovers as a club will well and truly have jumped out of the frying pan into the fire.
  8. Excellent to hear! Good luck with it all. Hope 'the coalition' gets the support it both needs and deserves.
  9. Sadly, I think the last 4 results will have taken the heat off our 3 stooges, at least for the foreseeable unless Glen and co have something up their sleeves. If Ismael does have a three month break clause in his contract, think it's almost certain it will not now be actioned. So what next? Record low season ticket sales in the last 30+ years, messrs Brittain, Travis and Tronstad refusing to be 'tied down' and being sold off, Gestede succeeding Waggott as CEO as he retires to Kent with his riches and Chaddy eulogising all is well with Rovers and continually dreaming of his 'pacey wingers'!? Think the summer will be very eventful but sadly it wont be exciting!
  10. Let's not forget we had parachute payments but feckin blew it big time.
  11. Surely time for Mowbray to retire, spend quality time with his family and enjoy both his seemingly successful recovery from a major illness and the wealth he has accumulated. Personally, I never took to the guy. IMO, should have kept us up the season we were relegated where too many winning positions ended as draws and too many matches where we were all square ended in defeat - think his game management was poor. Think he held us back with 'a happy to to be a Championship side stance', coasting along - no real drive and ambition. I think a 'safe pair of hands' at Championship level was/is the limit of his managerial/coaching abilities. I didn't trust the guy and behind that 'nice, humble guy' image he liked to portray, lurked, IMO, a more cynical, unpleasant and maybe even nasty person who 'threw his toys out of the pram' / 'took his bat home' too many times during the course of games and hung a number of players out to dry during his time here.
  12. Rovers to win today - couldn't resist a cheeky tenner at 15/4. Sunderland 'coasting' in 3rd place and will be looking to avoid injuries. Just the sort of game Rovers win and we all start saying 'if only'!
  13. Very good win today, totally unexpected in my eyes. Been away all day and only seen highlights but spoke to a couple who went and both said we were very impressive with all contributing. So, so feckin frustrating when you think of recent losses in games we should be winning - we should have been right there in the play off mix, yet another great opportunity spurned this season. Seen it too often - far too little and far too late. Ismael is going to have to do a lot, lot more to give me even a degree of confidence.
  14. Derby are now done. Led twice last week at Pompey and came away with just a point, lost today to Luton. 2 points from last 4 games tells me they've stalled at the wrong time (Luton 9 points from last 6 games have the momentum). Plymouth, Cardiff and Derby for the drop.
  15. Think Dolan 'rolling the pitch' with that interview - he's going! We've seen a big effort from Dolan in recent games and a cynic would think that's all about putting himself in the shop window. By no means a world beater and under normal circumstances would be no loss but, sadly, the way the club now is, likely to be replaced by someone worse!
  16. Just how thick do Rovers think its supporters are!?: V12 Finance information V12 Retail finance is offering a repayment plan to pay for your 2025-26 Season Ticket spread over 10, 8 or 6 monthly repayments. The 10,8 and 6 month repayment plan interest rate is 0%, meaning you do not pay any interest but incur an arrangement fee calculated at 11.01% , 9.58% and 8.30% respectively of the cost of the Season Ticket. I think the club deserve to be where they are - IMO, an insult to its supporters.
  17. I wish were going to be in the PL next season even if it meant taking "a clobbering every week"! A 'yo yo' club should get stronger with every PL season - build, build and build (the infrastructure et al). With the right management (from executive through to coaching) you can establish a sustainable position - Brentford and Bournemouth being just two examples.
  18. Incredibly difficult game. Millwall win their final 4 games and 72 points might just be enough to get them into play-offs. A well drilled, competitive and ambitious outfit to comfortably see Rovers off. Understand Alex Neil close to becoming Rovers' boss at one time but couldn't get the assurances he wanted (sound familiar?). Still has his family home a short drive away from Brockhall.
  19. We could end up needing at least 10 new additions plus 2 new goalies to replace, IMO, the calamitous Pears and Toth (on evidence of his handful of games, Toth is another Wahlstedt). Loanees all heading back: ACD, Beck, Dennis, Sanderson and Woodrow. Only Beck would be worth trying to keep though with Ribeiro now contracted, an unlikely pursuit. Contracts up: Batth, Dolan, Forshaw, Hedges, Weimann. Think Dolan will go and is clearly putting himself in 'the shop window' as opposed to a new found loyalty for Rovers otherwise would have agreed a new deal 12-18 months ago. Batth and possibly Weimann (subject to him proving his fitness following knee surgery) worth keeping. Forshaw and Hedges should be shown the door. Contracts up in 2026: Brittain, Hyam, Travis and Tronstad - tbh, could see at least 2 of those leaving if their agents can get them the right gig as difficult to see our 'better' players staying based on what's happened this season. I think we are in the deepest of shite and unless Ismeal is binned, I can only see us cut adrift at the bottom of the Championship by Christmas with a team made up of loanees, cheap signings and desperados. Enjoy the sunshine whilst it lasts!
  20. A surprise and unconvincing win but omg what an abysmal team Luton have become so quickly. We rode our luck with 2 stunning Luton strikes hammering the woodwork but guess we are due some luck. As for Toth, haven't seen a Rovers' goalie so unconvincing on crosses since John Butcher! Neither Pears or Toth are good enough. Question for anyone at Luton today - did Ismael acknowledge and thank the fans having at long last managed a win?
  21. Strange that Pears' injury not mentioned in yesterday's presser?! Wouldn't surprise me if Pears dropped and thrown a tantrum. Whatever has happened, we need to see what Toth has in his locker.
  22. IMO, our product in the market place is sh1te ie our football, our results, our football management, our executive management and our ownership and as such, trying to grow and expand your supporter base is well-nigh impossible. The simple facts are under current ownership, we have gone from a top 8/10 Premier League club to a club that has not even reached the play-offs in 12 Championship seasons and even suffered the ignominy of being relegated to the third tier of English football during that time. In addition, under current ownership, our attendances have plummeted from an average of 25,000 (2010/11) to an appalling situation where on Tuesday night I would not think there were more than 5,000 Rovers' fans in the ground (I would love to see the official police numbers). To have just 4,000 adult season ticket holders this season is in my eyes an abysmal embarrassment and next season that number could conceivably be 50%+ LESS. IMO, we have seen a substantial dumbing down of management across the whole club and, sadly, the consequences are plain to see. Before you can even dream about rebuilding the fan base, the fundamentals of the football club need to be right. You need an ownership that lives and breathes ambition and passion and you need a management from top to bottom that also lives and breathes ambition and passion allied to huge doses of integrity and nous. Without change, I think we are beyond withering on the vine and we are close to dying on our knees.
  23. Will a win not merely paper over the fractures which are in danger of becoming fault lines?! You yourself have stated CHANGE is required at Ewood and I think the only way that happens is by poor results and fans voting with their feet (which they did on Tuesday). I think change is required from top to bottom including owners, exec. management and head coach. I am happy for some elongated pain and suffering if it gives us a REAL OPPORTUNITY for change. IMO, continuing with the status quo is not a viable option and anything which brings the breaking of a new dawn nearer is welcome - scraping a win or two before the season ends will not bring about any change.
  24. I think the majority of fans want a new number 1 goalie. Under normal circumstances, a 'normal' club would have Toth in for the rest of the season, now our season is over, in order to see what he really is capable of. However, if Glen is correct about a 3 month break clause in Ismael's contract, Ismael, desperate for points to 'solidify' his position will go for what he sees as the least risk option. Tomorrow, we face a team battling for their Championship lives and on seemingly a decent run, unbeaten in last 5 games with 9 points added which is feckin brilliant in comparison to our 4 losses in 5 with only 1 point earned. I would be staggered with any result other than a Luton win, more so if any of our players don't fancy Ismeal next season and are presumably now aware of the alleged contractual break clause. Luton by at least 2 or 3 clear goals and if they get a couple early doors, I could see the roof really caving in.
