  1. There are medicals and there are medicals ranging from the 'can he walk' to the most stringent. Parts of medical judgements are subjective - it's down to the judgement of the practitioner. Why do you think Rovers sought a second opinion on Hedges' injury? And then you have the competence and abilities of the medical practitioners. The competence and abilities of doctors and physiotherapists, as in most fields of life, vary widely. I've seen two physios over recent times - one was abysmal and the other one was superb. Perhaps Rovers should review their medical screenings because it would seem Ennis was signed when he was far from fit enough to start and complete a full 90 minutes and it would seem we will be 3 months into the season before he might, and I think it's a big might, be ready to complete 90 minutes. Rovers simply can't afford players on 3 or 4 year contracts who are unfit for purpose.
  2. Well perhaps Proctor needs sacking as his judgement seems awry! Seems he was never going to be ready for the season's start - farcical.
  3. Think this and the QPR match are going to be much more difficult than some think. Not certain we do too well when up against teams that scrap portraying their managers' image and Robins and Ainsworth fall into the scapping category. Coventry had a confidence boosting win at QPR on Saturday with Simms netting twice. QPR have gone 9 home games without a win and we all know who's up next down there and what frequently happens when teams are searching for a win or a striker is searching for a goal. Sadly, I think things are going to go from bad to worse.
  4. Watch the Ryder Cup highlights, closing speeches and presentations - should give you a clue. Really ?!? Some of those lads in the Ryder Cup have just played up to five four hour matches in the space of three days with huge physical and mental demands.
  5. Been watching the Ryder Cup since 11.00 and thank goodness our magnificent golfers have given us cause for cheer. Quite simply, golfers are a different class to footballers in all aspects. Therefore, just catching up with events at Ewood and it sounds as though we were dreadful. I have recorded the match and will watch if I'm unable to sleep in the early hours of tomorrow morning! Make no mistake, the alarm bells are ringing loud and clearly. Our club is at a crisis point and that is not alarmist. I think there are so many deep rooted issues and problems that it is difficult to see how we move forward. Don't be surprised if Neil Warnock gets a S.O.S. call before Christmas!
  6. Pretty sure you'll come to regret that remark. Yep, most keepers make mistakes when they are learning but they also show an ability to make match winning saves on a regular basis which Pears only manages infrequently. IMO, he simply hasn't got it and whilst this selection lunacy continues, we'll continue to ship goals and points. So am I. A Rovers' win coupled with Europe lifting the Ryder Cup will prove to be some day!
  7. FFS, Pears again. Unbelievable decision. IMO, masochistic management.
  8. Needless to say, a real toughie. More so than ever, team selection key. Pears and Dolan MUST NOT start. Don't blame Leo at all for Cardiff's first goal. Think Pears is a busted flush. Time for Leo to sh1t or get off the pot. As for Dolan - we have far better options and the sooner we get this, IMO, big headed, useless upstart out the building permanently the better. Head says Leicester (3-1), heart says we will see some magic from Moran, Szmodics and Sigurdsson with Leonard proving again he can be 'our Johnny on the spot' (3-2 to Rovers in a goal thriller).
  9. Terrific stuff. Went shopping with the missus today on condition I could have a glass of red for every Rovers' goal. Two happy bunnies tonight!
  10. Interesting and decent line-up. 4-1 to Rovers with a brace for Telalovic.
  11. Interesting that within the relatively small confines of this MB, three have already declared they will not be at the match owing to the BE being closed - think the BE absentees will be in the hundreds. In fact I reckon it will only take circa 150 Blackburn Enders not to attend, who would otherwise have done, then Waggott's decision will be in the red. Waggott, I think you are a right plonker and rather than save Rovers money, you are going to cost the club money - moronic absurdity.
  12. IMO, Pears and Dolan should not wear the Rovers' shirt again unless we only have 9 fit outfield players and no other goalkeeper. Pears - have stated time and time and time again, since he first played for Rovers, IMO, he simply hasn't got it, never will have it and is a very poor goalkeeper. This season's debacles merely confirm it in big bold capital letters. Also, almost every time he concedes, it's arms outstretched exclaiming 'It's not my fault, what are you doing' - I would be livid if I was a Rovers' player out there on the field. Again, stated time and again, IMO, there is a big issue over Benson's abilities. Also, does he wield too much influence over goalkeeping decisions? We saw Mowbray jettison Raya and replace him with Walton who was abysmal with Rovers. We saw JDT choosing Pears over a fit again Kaminski last season. We have seen JDT's moronic faith in Pears this season, despite having cost us goals and points even prior to yesterday's horror show, - you wouldn't have thought we had recently signed a full Swedish international for almost £1million when we are almost borassic. IMO, Benson has to go - I think I am right in saying he has never played football at a professional level so where the feck does his expertise and knowledge come from? From what I have seen, he has no personality and presence and from what I saw in pre match and half time routines with Raya, there was little respect there for Benson. I think Dolan has regressed so much he offers nothing. I would drum him out of the club if we could find a wide enough exit door for what I would argue has become one big head (don't think he's worth a new contract let alone an improved one). We have problems and that is an understatement. JDT needs to get a grip and make some ruthless decisions with Leicester, Coventry and an improving QPR under Ainsworth up next. These next three games are season defining. We need to play Hill as Carter is struggling. We need to play Tronstad as defensively in midfield we are inept. We need to give Semir more than 5 or 7 minutes. There is something amiss with Wharton - possibly not fully fit but a mere shadow of his supreme best last season. There are some chinks of light with Szmodics, a returning Sigurdsson and an increasingly promising Leonard but we need much, much more from JDT and the rest of the squad.
  13. IMO, the decison makes no financial/commercial sense. The financials are chicken sh1t in the general scheme of things. The only thing the decision will do / has done is to irritate and alienate fans - I really wonder if Waggott has an ulterior motive? I really hope those Blackburn Enders in the JW for the Cardiff match vocally make their feelings known to Waggott and hugely embarrass him so much that he sits there squirming in his seat for the entire match.
  14. Ask him for the financial analysis behind the decision and what the projected savings are. My 'back of fag packet' numbers show we will actually lose money on the decision! Challenge Waggott hard to prove me wrong.
  15. Because both individually and as a pair down that right hand side I think JRC and Brittain offer more than a Brittain / Hedges combo. Hedges' decision making, judgement and execution are awry at critical times whether it be in front of goal (PNE away last season, Plymouth away this season) or when defending (Sunderland the other evening). JRC's best spell for Rovers was as a rampaging full back last season. Brittain is very good going forward with good delivery - IMO, better than Hedges and would provide much better cover for our full back than Hedges (as seen in that rash penalty conceded on Wednesday). We need more 'impact' players and JRC / Brittain tick the boxes and would make our right hand side much stronger both defensively and going forward - Hedges at best is average. A 'no brainer' for me.
  16. It's time those who meet Waggott put some serious challenge in. Prior to the meeting earlier this week, I would have asked Waggott for the cost analysis behind the decision. I've no intimate knowledge of operational costs at Rovers but some 'back of fag packet' stuff shows, IMO, what a ludicrous decision it is not to open the BE. Suppose 300 adults who usually sit in the BE decide not to attend the match - loss of ticket revenue net of vat £2.5k Saving on operational staff (stewards, caterers, cleaners etc) in BE - say 30 @ £50 = £1.5k Saving on utilities - say £0.5k Extra resource in JW (stewards, caterers, cleaners etc) given increased number of fans - say 15 @ £50 = £0.75k So, if 300 adults decide to miss the match because the BE is closed, it will actually cost the club £1.25k!!! I know this is 'back of fag packet' stuff but its unlikely to be too far adrift and if Waggott reads this MB, I challenge him to correct these financials if wrong. IMO, it's a feckin ludicrous financial decision - add into the mix the further alienation of fans and loss of goodwill and future revenues and it confirms, IMO, Ewood is a nous free zone. Overall, the financials are chicken sh1t in the general scheme of things and it just adds to the bewilderment.
  17. Push Brittain up to where Hedges plays and play JRC at full back where he's excelled.
  18. In just over two and a half seasons at Sunderland he played 70 (56%) games out of circa 125 league and cup games. To miss 55 games (44%) through injury is very significant and not what you want from your main striking man.
  19. Ipswich is one tough one - McKenna has done a great job there, talks a lot of commonsense, has an edge about him and is one to watch. Pears, Hedges and Dolan must not start. Pears - IMO, should have stopped Sunderland's all important second goal. Think Pears has already cost us too many points this season, he's a third rater. Arteta has shown how it's done - Raya over Ramsdale and having said that, Ramsdale is an England goalie! Unbelievable if Leo, a full Swedish international, not now given the gloves. Hedges - a liability. Doesn't take responsibility, poor judgement, makes rash decisions and misses too many golden opportunities. JRC back to full back where he excels and Brittain (who has found his feet and can play further forward) in place of Hedges. Dolan - IMO, he's utter dross and offers nothing, get him and his big head out the feckin building. Would start again with Leonard up front. Has shown he gets in the right places and last night's finish was very clever going back across goal. Should a change be necessary, a striker for a striker with Semir replacing Leonard. I shudder when I look at our next three games - Ipswich (a), Leicester (h) and Coventry (a). More likely to be in the bottom six rather than the top six after that little lot.
  20. Think there are leaves on the line and train will get derailed in Ipswich: LWLWLL
  21. Started well and should have been 2 or 3 up. You have to make it count when on top. Stupid Hedges challenge - makes too many rash decisions and misses too many chances. Travis good until I think his injury caught up with him. Wharton doesn't look fit and suffering from not having a proper pre season. Leonard took his goal well heading back across goal into opposite corner but should have netted at least one of two good second half chances. First thought was that Pears should have stopped Sunderland's second goal. Crazy substitutions - we need a goal and our new striker is brought on as 5th sub with minutes to go - think Semir showed in one 'opportunity' there is something there. Dolan, IMO, is utter sh1te - get him out the club and Garrett is simply not yet at the races. Sunderland have some tasty players in midfield and up front and, sadly, as I thought, had too much for us. To me, the alarm bells are ringing. This season is going to be tough. Three poor transfer windows are about to catch up with us. Think we'll be lucky if JDT is with us come Christmas.
