  1. Past hour
  2. Lewis Miller would be a great signing, probably the best name we've been linked this summer. The only problem is think it's highly unlikely, especially with Charlton flexing their financial muscle too πŸ₯²
  3. Myers who is normally on the ball has stated it’s close - in the midst of the doom and gloom it’s certainly a signing I can get behind left footed can played centre back and left back if needed (although plenty of options there) experienced knows the league happy β€˜if’ it happens
  4. I can see the upside to McLaughlin. An experienced Championship defender, good age, left sided, and fairly well regarded. Decent on the ball too. We will be presumably going abroad again for players further up the pitch so some extra Championship know how to build upon would be useful. There are question marks on quality. He wasnt able to start regularly at centre back at Hull and was shunted to left back where seemingly he did well. The reaction fans from Hull is mainly positive although it seems partly based on him playing at left back and leaving them short there, factoring in their transfer ban, rather than his abilities at centre back. Hes not quick either so it might be a problem if we want to play a high line. Certainly doesnt seem like part of the plan of what they wanted to be honest. All of our main targets were abroad and it may be that we stumble upon needed experience somewhat by chance. I think back to when Broughton tried to bring in Batth, that seemed to be when we had identified the need for experience and all planned out, until Venkys meddled. Obviously this is assuming he signs, which we dont know. Advanced means nothing here and the source is flawed. If he is now our target, just get it done soon because he will need to go straight in.
  5. rovers version of "advanced talks" is ringing up the club, putting a derisory bid in then claiming the talks are close to an agreement,we only agree terms with desperate clubs who want to get rid of their dead wood
  6. Just a word to all who have a British passports. My wife and I are due to go away at the end of the month. We were filling out our boarding passes on line when my wife noticed what she thought was a problem with my passport, Although the date of expiry was the 3rd of June 2026, the ten year anniversary of the passport being issued was the 3rd of September 2025. That is a couple of days before we are due to return to the UK. This was because back then if you renewed your passport early they tacked on the extra months onto your new passport. Since Brexit this no longer applies ! I looked at the ABTA advice on the internet and it said if your passport is valid when you enter an EU country it’s OK as long as you have at least 3 months left on it when you come back. I looked on a UK government site and it said more or less the same thing. I thought I was in the clear. However I thought I’ll just check. So I went to my local β€œ Hays β€œ travel agency - the girl says - I think you need a new passport but I’m not an expert, see the Post Office. So I go to my Post Office - the girl says - yes, you need a new passport ! So today I’ve been over to Liverpool to sort out an emergency passport for twice the price of an ordinary one ! The woman at the passport office counter said - I definitely needed a new passport. Everbody out there beware of this anomaly.
  7. So with Rovers, does advanced actually mean close to missing out on him.
  8. Sometime wonder if we find out what a player is selling for and offer nowhere near the value just so we can say we tried. Nah we would'nt do that would we?
  9. Played 39 games last season.... 6 years younger than Batth. I prefer the guy from Hull.
  10. mclaughlin is a good solid centre back who`d be a good signing, however, when he hears the wage we offer him,he`ll decide to stay in hull
  11. Is he quicker than Batth? I suspect Batth was going to struggle in Ismael's system. He was fantastic under Eustace, but was very protected.
  12. Is the guy grom Hull any better? Clearly wasn't first choice, will cost a fee and likely to be a similar wage to Batth anyway.
  13. Usyk v Dubois 2 any predictions ?
  14. Today
  15. The Lovin’ Spoonful - Darling Be Home Soon
  16. If they replace him with the guy from Hull and don't sell another of the centre backs then we might be able to finally argue there was some sense in it. Until then though.....
  17. I'd rather him be brought along slowly and build up his strength etc then come into the team than be chucked in through necessity and struggle. He'll get his chance at some point and lets not rule out Rovers might have to pay another big chunk of money for him once he plays Championship football. If he isn't going to make the grade and someone lower down offers a few quid there's no harm done.
  18. John D. Loudermilk - Darling Jane
  19. Scrabbling round trying to sign a champ centre back. Losing Batth looks more stupid by the day.
  20. It’s as well the championship doesn’t be played out on paper then. Not many if any would have had Luton relegated last season and us and Millwall fighting for 6th
  21. We wore our away kit at home to Basel in the Uefa Cup in 06/07 - not sure why. Looks like Basel were in all white.
  22. Don't tell Gestede and Suhail or they'll really take their foot off the gas if they think we're basically safe already.
  23. Those 2 teams may well be our saving grace this season given their transfer bans. However, the 3 promoted teams look stronger than their equivalents in most other seasons, so unless the transfers team bring in a lot more Ohashi's than Telalovic' s, (without our owners selling off too much more of the family silver to keep the lights on) we are still looking for at least one more team to have a terrible season
  24. It seems to me that it's an arrangement that suits both parties - Everton have what they want and it's a perfect marketing opportunity for Rovers to play a game in the kit we will have launched 24 hours before. Of course it wouldn't be acceptable if it was a competitive game but for an early pre-season kickabout? Although I'm somewhat confused by the Everton post above in that case.
  25. Have we not played a competitive game at Ewood in our away kit once for some reason to do with the away side (either both kits they brought were a colour clash or they forgot one or something)? I feel like it's happened in the last 30 years at some point.
