Here's the ball hitting the post. The goalscorer is the guy behind Miller. He wasn’t running past him at the time. His reaction to the ball coming back out was far better than Miller. That's not luck. -
You'd have to imagine that he'll be in with a shout this time, based on who we are realistically likely to attract. So many reasons to be pessimistic about that, but I cling on to the 'but he's a Rover and a Blackburn lad' bit with disproportionate amounts of blind hope...

Thought that for awhile has some team selections bit bizarre Did VI disobey his superiors with the side at Swansea ? -
"Two main issues left to resolve" So apart from the fact we're miles apart on length of contract and transfer budgets, it's in the bag!

I actually thought Carter looked like he was complaining about a problem and expected him to go straight down the tunnel for treatment. It's possible he was feeling something.and it was precautionary so he was just frustrated. -
Typical Nixon Rovers set to offer Rowett deal in shock move! Next day......... Rovers move for Rowett breaks down in shock development!
-
He should become as unemployable as K**n.
-
Just our luck that the only one who you could trust to pour his heart and soul into it like one of us and would take it tomorrow is Ainsworth. Sadly he is the one with the worst football and one of the most likely to fail at this level but there seems an air of inevitability he'll end up here one day.
-
Don't think it's worth pursuing with if we're the ones approaching... Desperation if true and likely he'll go Leicester. Unless there's anyone good that's even applied, may as well get Cifuenetes in
-
It's as daft as the no one will buy us bull shit. Loads would take it in a heartbeat but their reasons and whether they are right for us is the real issues because the pond we are fishing in is more of a rusty old bucket where not much lives.

Another disappointing result on the road again but I wasn't entirely disenchanted with the performance as I was at Ipswich and Swansea. The game had 0-0 written all over it and I really felt comfortable and the draw was certainly achievable. The turning point was taking Carter off for me. The 66th minute was far too early given how he was playing and he didn't look tired in any way. He was pretty much the rock at the back so we were really surprised that he was taken off so early. I also struggled with taking Miller off and putting Alebiosu back to right back. Neither were needed in my opinion. I do wonder how much the medical and sports science staff played Carter going off. In the ground we were really surprised. I was told on the train home from other Rovers supporters that Carter looked really dispirited to be taken off. Along with Carter I thought Miller, Cashin and Tronstad were outstanding but once again Cantwell was largely a passenger. He was better today than he has been recently but still isn't doing anywhere near enough in my view. We don't have much pace in the team but when Cantwell is on the ball it really slows down to his pace. Clearly scoring goals is a problem going forward and it will be a real conundrum going forward for the new manager. He will have to somehow get the right formula of players to get these otherwise we will go down. For me that's the stark reality. -
Had to post this...Mr Blueandwhitehalves resident of you know where strikes again with his wisdom: "As depressing as it is for Rovers fans, you have to factor in that the job is unattractive too. The anti-Venkys fans will say its unattractive because of the owners. I say its unattractive because we've very poor attendances and a very small fanbase that's ever shrinking as Blackburn becomes a Muslim town. But whichever the reason, its an unattractive job."

That will be what happened but apart from goalkeeper the substitutions you don’t want to make at 0-0 is either of your centre halves. That combination is critical. It just shows how desperate we are that we’ll play a centre half knowing he’s only got an hour in him. I expect that it will be the same when Wharton comes back. Imagine having to sub both centre halves on their hour -
There is no long list. There is no short list. No one wants this. You'd either have to be: - insane - given up on your career and need a pay cheque - a fanatical Rovers supporter. Cue Gareth Ainsworth.
-
Whoever it is, the negotiations will be long and hard. Big bonus for Rovers staying in the championship. Guaranteed investment in players either in the Championship or Division 3 Longer than a short term contract. All terms that are alien to the Bank of Venkys. No point in counting our chickens…

This fella isn’t a million miles off Steve Kean levels. A slimey, snake of a man who you wouldn’t trust to run a bath let alone a championship football club. I will love watching his eventual downfall.
-
Exactly if offered Rowett will take it he isn't going to wait around in the hope Leicester or West Brom will come in for him I think out of the options he would be a sensible choice but he has not long since been sacked by Oxford I don't see a queue of clubs making him their preferred candidate in the summer when teams start afresh. To get back in it will be a team like us struggling at the bottom looking for a rescue. If west brom sacked their new guy he may be considered there but I don't see Leicester having him as their preferred candidate

I really admire the optimism of those who don’t think it’s done and dusted yet. I wish I could see where the goals and wins are coming from as I’m struggling to see either being remotely close to the required rate. -

One for @StubbsUK - but he’s in Norwich…probably feeling quite miserable… -
I’m assuming he may take a training session or two between matches… just a hunch though.

I see it the other way - 6-12 months of easy salary, topped off with an early pay off. He's sat on the dole queue at the minute, there won't be many other jobs out there for him right now where he can make such easy, quick money.

Long list my arse. Let's give DJ 2 games, put it about we have a hughe short/longlist and then we can bring Chris in.
