  1. Past hour
  2. What I find most extraordinary about the whole farce is the immediate (factual) pointing to the river levels as if that absolves us of all responsibility for our own ground. Random football fan/website - "What a joke that Championship Blackburn can't keep their pitch drained in this day and age!" Ultra-defensive Rovers fan - "I think you'll find it's not our fault because river levels..." This argument completely ignores the absurd point that our drainage system will only work during those periods when rain is not heavy enough to fill a small river. Now it could have cost us valuable points. Just perhaps we need a new system. Wonder if they'll stump the necessary cash...
  3. A non return valve allows flow in only one direction. It is at work all the time, It never shuts off flow from the ground to the river, but does not allow a flow from the river to the ground. The venturi effect of the positioning of the outlet allows for the flow into the river, when the river level is above the outlet.
  4. The problem seems to be getting the water into the river when the river level is too high. It would seem obvious to install a sump with a pump(s) close to the river and pump it over the top when needed.
  5. The cost (positionally/points wise) isn't an issue, the opportunity to bring another 4K+ away support is a financial bonus for SuFail. A moral victory for the players but the Ipswich players will be having a better night than our lads. Sickener.
  6. I thought our match performance was very good, players playing to tactical plan. was surprised when Ismael went to back 3 against 10 men Wharton was excellent and Cantwell led the team again. Toth is such a good keeper and showing us all why we were wrong to write him off like I did so I'm pleased he proved me wrong.
  7. Frustrating as would have been a promising result and put us in a good league position. Lots to play for ofc but a big game to win. Guaranteed to lose replay
  8. Very surprised how defensive City went so early in the game. Wouldn't have taken Haaland off at all. Thought Pep got that wrong. Pep is building a different type of team with less focus on possession and better transition team I thought Arteta picked the wrong starting eleven cos I would have picked Eze in place of Merino and Martinelli for Trossard
  9. Today
  10. I very nearly said something similar in my post but decided against it. I do rate Leonard a little higher though, mostly because he would actually work and didn't act like he didn't want it. Vale was frequently lazy in a Rovers shirt.
  11. Yeah, I was mixing the two up. I thought they were both equally ineffectual to be honest.
  12. I’m not an authority on non return valves but I’ve fitted a few. How would yours work. If it shut’s off when the height of the river reaches the out let pipe where does the water on the pitch go ?
  13. Just the 7-0 loss today against Leeds
  14. There’s all sorts of ways you can get injured on pitches like that. How many long distance sliding tackles did we see ? No way to control those. You go flying after a ball near the touch line and going sliding headlong into the boundary walls. You take an almighty swipe at where you think the ball is going to be and it isn’t there = muscle injuries etc. I would imagine most of the players were glad to get off. Plus the fact the non - swimmers among them could have been in danger of drowning.
  15. What's a 'barm cake' and why would you want to eat chips with any kind of cake? But yes, the John Bulls from Hollytree are ace. Manxman chippy used to do a good one, many years ago - I think Hollytree is the only place you can get one now.
  16. In society in general. Anybody's fault but mine.
  17. I took it a different way. Just another example of the farce that is Rovers -the players clearly knew, so why weren't the freezing cold fans told quickly in an announcement? And I just thought that their players were praising their fans for giving good support having travelled a long way in crap conditions. Sammy, nice touch from him and the BBE as well.
  18. Because Pasha is a brain dead dip-shit
  19. Indeed, just a shame we didn't get our just desserts. Would have been interesting to see if Gudjonson and Kargbo could capitalise on the situation. Thought the word team summed up the performance yesterday, and at Watford to be fair.
  20. Just feeling, I just don't see anything else
  21. We could try the magnanimous approach… ’The abandonment removed Ipswich’s chance to rescue a point in the final ten minutes with only ten men. We are happy for them to be afforded this opportunity at a date of your choosing’.
  22. I believe the decision to replay it has already been made. Just going through the motions listening to both clubs before making it official. There is no way anything but a full replay happens, they won't want to set any kind of precedence.
  23. Expensive, and needs quite a bit of maintenance. The club is not very good at maintenance.
