  1. Past hour
  2. I would take him. But would have to be low wages or pay as you play.
  3. Our club leadership of Pasha, Gestede and Suki went for a walkabout in the Fanzone prior to the game yesterday to have chats with supporters. Maybe this is the new supporter consultation? I wonder if they release a video clip or a few photos of them all happy and smiles together?
  4. Any thoughts or observations on WHY he wanted out? Or does that just get swept under the carpet along with everything now he's the big bad wolf?
  5. The remedy is an active coalition to remove a gatekeeper who sells an impossible dream and find a new one who persuades the owners that some injection of cash is the only way to get promoted and bow out with some dignity of sorts. Never going to happen really is it? Sadly, that ship has probably sailed now given a wrecking ball has been taken to the squad and the only hope would appear to be a miraculous promotion with this squad. Not even sure that broadsword's divine intervention would work either, we would probably still be liable for the debt.
  6. Would anyone take Dennis on a free? Released by Forest. Obviously utter crap on his loan last year, but arguably a class above anything we have now and has some pedigree. Not sure I would but better than nothing and we probably couldn’t afford him. Intrigued and excited by the Gudjohnson signing. Gamble but hopefully it pays off. Pears - what the hell is going/has gone on there? Is he just gonna disappear for the season while we pay him. Not a sniff of a transfer, hardly surprising, but it’s a bizarre situation. My guess is he was one of the ‘core’ Eustace lads, most of who are now gone.
  7. Let’s stop this Derby Rovers bollocks before it becomes a thing eh.
  8. I have told you my opinion on Eustace and my feelings towards him RF99. He lied to the fans when Derby Rovers approach was, you make not a problem with that but I do. Eustace wanted out and he made his decision. if rumours are true, he wanted out for a while, don't let that door hit you on the exit. You still find excuses for Eustace now at Derby Rovers like I previously but slammed your own team you supported for similar reasons. I told you previously, Ismael will be judged on results and performances. so far, in the 4 league games we should be on 7 points not 3 points in my opinions, performances have been there, players understand how we wanted to play in the last 3 games. But unlike yourself an others, I not a Jekyll and Hyde opinion or overreacting to things. At the minute, Ismael is doing ok, let players settle in and see how the team is instead of this Jekyll and hype approach so many of you have
  9. On Gudjohnsen, no like you I havent seen him live. I was just passing some comments on the usual information we have, based on his record to date and opinions of the supporters of previous clubs. I have also never seen Morishita for example. Out of the 2, based solely on the same sort of information, I am much more encouraged and excited by his signing. Hopefully they will both prove to be good signings. We need a good striker as Ohashi is ok and Gueye is terrible. On Michalski, you are just arguing for the sake of it because you share my opinion that we need another senior keeper, which suggests that like me, you also share the opinion that such young untested keepers are not ready to be immediate backup to Toth at Championship level. Never once said he doesnt have talent.
  10. ‘Derby Rovers’. Like a 12 year old.
  11. they were lucky. we deserved to win. Said it all the time after the game, and nothing will change that opinion Mark we created 3 great chances. Karbgo with 2 and Hedges with 1
  12. just excuses after excuses for Eustace and Derby Rovers
  13. A few other teams in for him so I doubt it happens.
  14. LT saying Cadamarteri deal still possible, that's a deal I would like done, and sell Leonard. Happy to have Cadamarteri go back on loan too if we can bring in a loan forward from the Prem as back-up and shift Gueye.
  15. Have you ever see him play live? here is his goal for Iceland vs Scotland https://youtu.be/GtuQyVh2b_E?si=Qtq7VT-GN87_kzdI Goal for Gent vs Oud-Heverlee Leuven https://youtu.be/7OUVoYMo4bs?si=j-582icbJUwVKKvT Your are basing your opinion on 1 game, where it was his debut and probably nervous especially after his mistake. Given that he has been called to England under 19's show he has talent, so why shouldn't we develop that. back to the same old crap going on about we don't know if Ismael is happy with Michalski being back up, he has told he is and given that Pears isn't anywhere near the first team anymore is telling.
  16. Come on now ‘99, he was ‘King Eustace’ to you as you had his pic as your avatar all last season… of wait, don’t think that was you actually.
  17. Chaddy, you were forever a huge fan of Eustace during his time here. You were (briefly) fuming at the club that he was let down enough to seek alternative employment. Your call to sack Ismael in isolation, fine. But now youve spun to the point where he is better than Eustace and you wont even accept criticism of him. You wont however commit to saying that you feel like he will be a success which is telling. If you think he is better than Eustace who you rated too, then why wont you put it out there that you think Ismael will do a good job? I was skeptical of Eustace at first as results were poor. He did however turn it round to the point where he was doing an excellent job, straight from the start of last season. Yes, Ismael may turn it round, but I have very little confidence that he will. I am happy to say that, knowing that there is a chance (small IMO) that he may make me happily look like a fool and turn it around. But from what I have seen, I am happy to put it out there that I sadly dont think he will. Last week we did well and he deserved praise for how we set up. But its the exception so far with 4 losses around that. I can praise him for one game but think overall that so far this season, its been poor. I consistently praised Eustace last season whilst he was still employed here. I was like you fuming that the club let him down. Im not going to suddenly pretend that he isnt as good as he is because he isnt employed here anymore.
  18. There is no chance in today's football to get a proven striker for this level for 2 million, they will all be a gamble. Modern football with just one striker has limited the pool significantly as it also puts higher demand of the attributes to fill the role. Another aspect is that the extended European competitions has caused an influx of more money to sub-par leagues which has increased the transfer sums and especially for strikers. Gudjonsons profile is very similar to Aune Heggebøe, who WBA picked up for 5+ mill this summer. He's a 24 year-old striker with a 1 in 3 goal ratio including spells in the second tier in Norway. Judging by the top scorer table in the Championship last season, finding a 20 goal striker looks pretty grim: - Not a single player scored 20+ - Only 2 strikers hit 15 or more (Piroe and Sargent, both expensive transfers when bought)
  19. Hmm...Starting to feel like we've been here before..... Gordon Greer, Hope Akpan, Tommy Hoban, Wes Brown, Derrick Williams, Chris Brown etc
  20. Hasn’t the league position always been irrelevant under these owners? Difference being some managers still railed against that, as well, after all it’s supposed be to competitive first team football with a place in the Premier League at stake, not ‘development football’… however they seem to have a pliant one this time.
  21. Everything you see and hear down there just stinks of corner cutting, cost cutting, going through the motions The photos of Ewood, flaking paint, ad boards, naff attempt at installing safe standing rails, just cheap and tacky. The Blues Bar stuff - tells me that they have this in their crosshairs as the next mothballing exercise. Keep on reducing it until most people don't bother going, tell them to go into Jack's Kitchen instead. They've already done it during the week, match days will be next.
  22. Today
  23. Never said Birmingham were any good. They were poor, didn't look like scoring for 90 minutes and still beat us. What does that tell you? We got exactly what we deserved against them, nothing because we can't defend properly as a team. Norwich should have been at least 3 up before half time before the penalty. They deserved the win based just on that half. We created one really good chance and made a huge mess of it, then rest was just them sitting off us letting us have the ball as they knew we wouldn't score, because we have no goalscorers in the team.
  24. Derby are fresh out of League One and survived last season by the skin of their teeth. We are an established Championship side having been in it for 7 years and should have finished in the top 6 last season Notwithstanding that Derby have had a tougher run of games than us - Stoke, Coventry, Bristol and Ipswich - why are you attempting to use Derby's results so far as a metric? Should be embarrassed given the head start we've had on them over the last 5 years.
  25. I imagine Ismael has been told that league position is irrelevant this season. He seems far too relaxed at the moment for someone as fiery as he is whilst overseeing this shit show. The goal is to polish some of these turds into profitable assets and reduce the amount Venky’s need to send over when the rest of the transfer sales runs out.
  26. This filling the squad with your own cheap buys and youth is fine if most of them cut the mustard but if they don'y you are stuck with them. If you get relegated they are then mostly worth less than what minimal fees you are paying for them. I suspect should that happen the ones who brought them in will be long gone though with a few years wages and commission in their pockets.
