I'm of the belief that clubs should be banned from these stick on logos etc. They should have to be an actual part of the shirt. Given what they cost it's a joke how quickly sponsors come off. I think I still have a Time shirt somewhere that has outlasted the company who sponsored it, because the Time logo was woven into the actual shirt. This should be mandatory. Clubs don't do it because it costs them a bit more and they want your shirt to look tatty in a year or two so they can flog you another overpriced one.

Macron’s deal is up at the end of this season. As of April 2025 Rovers were allowed to talk to other suppliers, but not before. As part of the deal Macron also have matching bid rights (they have to be told what any new offer is and be given the opportunity to match it). That’s the facts, but just MAYBE the following happened… MAYBEWaggott had been talking to adidas, largely due to Gary Aspden. MAYBE It was off the record but it got very clear they were very keen around October 2024. MAYBE Suhail got wind of Waggott talking to adidas and tried to tell him that Yasir would be doing the kit deal and not him. MAYBE Waggott told him no, as he had the relationship with Gary and subsequently with adidas. MAYBE As a result Suhail got in a strop and went off talking to Castore, and told Waggott to forget about adidas and that we’d be going with Castore “to keep the Issa brothers onside”. MAYBE Suhail then went to Macron to tell them he was negotiating a really good deal with Castore, so they would need to put in a much improved deal. And MAYBE Macron went mad as this broke the exclusivity agreement and MAYBE threatened legal action. MAYBE Waggott was planning on flying to Italy to smooth things over with Macron but eventually did it on the phone, but MAYBE they chilled out a bit. MAYBE Waggott explained the local connection to adidas and that they would be offering loads of things macron couldn’t match (Spezial kit, boot deal, exhibition at Ewood, new club shop, Spezial trainers). MAYBE Macron accepted that couldn’t be matched. In April they opened up to tender. MAYBE Macron, adidas and Castore put in. MAYBE Macron and Castore both offered an upfront payment - basically a guarantee of 400k, rather than an extra payment. MAYBE Suhail went to adidas and asked them to match it, MAYBE they said they don’t offer guarantees to anyone, not even Man Utd or Real Madrid - they just sell lots of kits. MAYBE Suhail then went back and told Macron they were going with Castore - MAYBE Macron said they wanted to keep Rovers and offered to match Castore. MAYBE Suhail’s response was “No you should’ve offered us more in the first place. We are going with Castore.” MAYBE Adidas were not getting good vibes since Waggott left, but MAYBE Suhail then reapproached adidas asking for a half million upfront payment to “buy out macron” - effectively pay them off cos they will sue. MAYBE Adidas reiterated their stance of no upfront payments - MAYBE Suhail said “Well Castore are willing to pay the legal fees”. So MAYBE Macron are seeking compensation for 2 separate breeches of contract. Castore have bought out Umbro and need clubs for their second brand. MAYBE we’ve agreed to being Umbro with off the peg kits slightly Roverized.

Ok seriously, what is wrong with us? Lad comes in, performs better than De Neve, we are short at LWB and we send him off on loan...to Barrow. So he can have himself a League Two relegation fight, if it doesn't just end with him not playing like most of our loans.

In the lifetime of anyone on the board, can anyone recall a professional football club being sued by their kit supplier. I imagine, like in all businesses, there will have been contractual disputes but unheard of to become public knowledge and end up in court proceedings. More shame brought on this once proud club by Pune and the local idiots assigned to the Ewood madhouse !

Imagine what a thankless task working in the comms team at Ewood must be. A new scandal every week.

My 24/25 home kit by Macron has lasted perfectly, and I still think it was one of the best home kits we've had for ages. The worst supplier we had was the Nike off the peg "design your own kit" kits in 13/14; they were crap quality and the RFS sponsor fell right off.

Had a pair of shorts and both the Rovers logo and the Macron logo came off after like 2 washes. I've got the black and gold training top, which is very nice but sadly the logos have stayed on that one, which means I have to walk around in shame.

Neil was a tough player without doubt but i wouldn't say hardman he was just physically very solid. Shit himself when Carragher and his boys were going to square up away from the pitch, couldn't see Andy Todd ducking a threat on or off the pitch. Real tough guys are a different breed than the flat track bullies who rely on size or image. Speedie was another you wouldn't want to mess with despite his stature, Hendry was a tough as they come on the pitch but no hard guy, Hughes as well. Was never a fan of Hanley but not many got change out of him physically on the park and he stuck me as the sort who could handle himself off it. That fat gimp Barnes wouldn't have put any of that lot into the back of the net with the ball.

At least that means they have an excuse for no striker being signed. We didn’t have a kit for him.

Yes. That is an absolute insboy errult in its own right, and sackable from my perspective. We are used to the term 'schoolboy error' being used for players, but such a basic inability to maintain the traditions of the club in it's 150th year smacks of both terminal incompetence and potential two fingered salutory to the fans. Bargain Basement specialists Blackburn Rovers. Bottom feeders, getting ready for the Bum's Rush. Bah!
