  1. Past hour
  2. Barcelona moved him back into midfield if I recall. It seems he was still a 1 in 3 striker when played up front, but spent a fair bit of time further back whilst at Barca Played as... Centre-Forward 39 13 4 Attacking Midfield 22 2 - Left Winger 6 1 - Right Winger 3 - 1 Central Midfield 3 - 2 Second Striker 1 - 1
  3. Ok, so here come the Canaries, flapping into fortress dilapidated and dated Ewood for a 3pm showdown with our ragbag of unknown unknowns, 'why is he here' stars, quiet as a mouse muscle-men, and I'll toe the line for Β£10k a week underperformers, all cobbled together under the vengeful and unhinged watch of Mr Sideline Shadow Dancer, Please sir can I go to the toilet Teaboy, and Cross Me at your Peril eyebrows Ismael. What are the expectations for the afternoon? A glorious reprise of a famous 7-1 demolition? A whingeing crowd murmuring in hollow discontent at the lack of anything to enjoy and an absence of A3 baggage? A salutory reminder of the vagaries of amateur football club management as a substitute for structure and strategy? Hmm..yesterday at lunchtime I was (for about a nanosecond) more optimistic that there might be an actual plan. Pasha, buffoon and clearly in need of a damned good enema, put paid to that (we are told) by taking a last minute.com dump on Harry Leonard's last chance saloon. So, back to square one, as the professional snakes (sic) and ladders player in me likes to revert to in times of great confusion, like the last 14-15 years under the absent shadow snake charmers. Quick question - what would you or I be prepared to do for a Β£500k per year wage? Rhetorical, of course (East Lancs wages have stagnated since the 1980s) but if someone gave you that much wonga and a script that said simply squeeze costs and say nothing, what would you do? (I'd probably squeeze costs and say nothing, to be fair). I digress. Looking forward to this afternoon (I'm not, of course, don't be silly!) My gut feeling is that the bad egg smell behind the curtain gets up the players' noses and leads to a less than carnival atmosphere for the whole game...('s funny, isn't that where that Pasha bloke stands..?) Canaries in a coalmine - Rovers 3 Norwich 0 Can air y pin drop around Ewood - Rovers 0 Yellowskins 3 Canairdly bring myself to type this - Reverting to tripe Rovers 0 Huffskipuffski yellows 0 COYB! VENKYS OUT! (naturally - they don't give a shit and don't belong here, and are a blight on football) Cowardly deal quashing-career stalling-prospect ruining SHADOW WANKERS OUT!
  4. Yeah his dad was a really good player. Was roughly a 10-15 goal a season man at Bolton/Chelsea then his goals really dried up when he got to Barcelona. I hope he's half as good as his dad if he was to sign as I really enjoyed watching him play.
  5. Copyright to Clayton’s Left Boot. The best player in the world and no 10, Pele
  6. Always good a football too, I used to play in same team as him at primary school 😊
  7. His dad wasn't a prolific scorer at all, but he was class! Tall strong and pacey with good technique, good ball control and intelligence
  8. Today
  9. I know it's easy to look at G/A from a players previous season, and judge, but there's good pedigree in Gudjohnsen. He came through academies like Real Madrid, Top scorer in the Danish league, experience in the conference league (including an assist) against Chelsea, full international with a few goals already...All this and he's still so young...He's got loads of time to develop and it simply hasn't worked out for him at Gent. If he'd scored a few more he'd have top European clubs looking at him. Taking all of the above into consideration, I find it slightly strange that others arnt in for him - Is he injured?
  10. I knew him too. Great when he acknowledged me at half-time when he was Accy manager.
  11. If a Venkys owned Middlesbrough were sitting nicely in January and TM was the manager, he is 100% picking up the phone and asking for more funds..
  12. Amateur hour all round here, Chaddy. The idea is plausible, but the evidence in support of it is not even paper thiiiiiiiiiinnnn! Yet Rovers still need to sign a striker. Enter Tea Boy - Superhero, to the rescue!!!! The tea boy, behind the mask..
  13. The other win was away in the Carabao at Watford
  14. Anyone awake with a miniscule of optimism this morning?
  15. Great result....but was horrible sitting in the rain that night!
  16. Not sure. Having looked it up it seems as though Terry Garbutt (who I thought was really ordinary) went to Sheffield Utd and Cosmos at the same time as Tony Field and also played with Pele.
  17. 11/10 The guy's a second rate plodder and should never have been anywhere near this club. Amazing how many got sucked in by him spinning a few yarns. Just happy turning up and clipping the ticket, you want to do that then go and work in a warehouse or some shit.
  18. Did he not score MOTDs goal of the season at Sheffield, beating about six players and rounding the goalie?
  19. Blimey, Id completely forgotten about that. There were three of them altogether weren't there including Smallwood who were in a similar sort of position and got extensions because good old Tone didn't want them to feel left out. Not quite as bad as giving Gladwin a new deal so he could use our facilities to get fit but still absolutely scandalous.
  20. Followed Furphy to 1st Division Sheffield Utd. Don't think he did much there but ended up at New York Cosmos who at the time had signed people like Pele and Beckenbauer at the end of their careers. Famously there's a picture of him with Pele, Id imagine he's the only ex Rovers player to have played with him! Not sure if any played against him when he was younger.
  21. I can’t agree with that, as his legs would be permanently wide open.
  22. interesting article on Venkys and financing Rovers. https://eflanalysis.com/news/venkys-to-surpass-150m-mark-at-blackburn-rovers-very-soon-and-it-raises-big-questions/
  23. It really doesn't matter whether our new signings are good or bad. If they turn out bad we'll probably be relegated. If they turn out to be excellent the best 4 or 5, will be sold off at the end of the season ,the bulk of the transfer money will go to recurrent expenditure and we'll start "the project" again. If they are mediocre, we'll just bumble along as usual. That's the reality of being owned by Venkys now and why I don't care half as much as I used to.
  24. Yesterday
  25. The funny thing with Graham is that he was crap at Sunderland, came here and was pretty solid, then went back to Sunderland and was rubbish again 🀣
  26. Went to primary school with James, used to give me piggy backs across the puddles 🀣🀣
  27. It's concerning that Gent want to ditch him after a year, for what they paid for him - but then again Alan Shearer isn't walking through that door. We'll just have to see if he's any good if he signs for us.
