2025 Summer Transfer Thread. ๐

There would be absolutely no viable reason to go for Dennis. He had one good season quite a while ago and has had various poor loan spells, was dreadul for us and is on massive wages. -

I dont think Gueye will leave but I would happy to move him on and replace him as he isnt good enough. Ismael has mentioned only signing 1 and replacing any outgoings but I wonder quite how that applies. For example, will Travis still be replaced as we are still one light especially with Baradji injured, or is he considered the replacement? I suspect the latter. And will players like Buckley and Leonard be replaced considering that they arent in the first team squad to begin with? We need more players but I suspect they wont be with that being the rationale. Maybe even Pears too. Hyam would surely be replaced but very difficult to get someone as good, especially when we cant offer competitive wages. -

New right back thankfully looks up to the task he's very Nyambeish ( you know that guy who was easy to replace for nothing but it actually cost a million quid at least). No fuss win the ball or the man and give it to someone else or get it cleared up the other end. Brittain last season was an elite Championship level performer, made a poor sideways move imo because if he signed again and bide his time a bit something better would've come along. However they know how much this club now lacks any ambition so it's hardly surprising he elected to jump to a club who doesn't first chance, plus probably a decent pay rise. -

Leonard has been told to find a new club, not just a loan, I think the decision has been made that he's never gonna make it. -

A psyop being used to flush out both sides before he goes back on frequent holiday jail time. Either way he's naff all to do with Blackburn Rovers FC and he isn't going to remove the regime here. -
It was around the time of the late equaliser so my assumption would be that we 'over celebrated' and wound up the cavemen. A friend said Wonstencroft is a Blackburn lad so he will know what it really means when we play that lot ๐. Or perhaps something after the final whistle.

A really good day for Rovers supporters particularly the 1000 at Hull who gave the team excellent backing. Yesterday was so reminiscent of West Brom last season when, almost against the odds Rovers players seemed to galvanise and show some solidarity despite the shenanigans behind the scenes. It was the perfect away performance for me in which we looked much better than Hull. Our tactics and game plan was really important and Ismael and his staff should take credit for this. Toth in great form, so solid defensively, industrious and skilful in midfield and up front which gave us the platform to achieve the result. Giving Cantwell the captaincy could well be a masterstroke from Ismael. He seemed to thrive on the responsibility and put in by far his best performance in a Rovers shirt. Hull tried every dirty trick in the book to stop him but simply couldn't. We looked a proper Championship team yesterday and the challenge for the staff and players going forward is to build on this and gain some momentum. -

I'm going to put Afolayan in the.same boat as Miyoshi. Nearly 28 and ยฃ2m, with other clubs interested. I just don't see it happening at all. -

The problem I have with him is that I'm not sure what his actual 'strengths' are. I know what his theoretical strengths are but I'm not convinced they exist in real terms. I'm sure we can replace with better. -

Still early doors in the season and Iโm impressed in how Ryan is adapting to the squad. Energy levels will get better and has the athleticism to recover if he makes a mistake. Pace and power in his favour and can be trained on other aspects. Big boots to fill as Brittain is the better footballer in my opinion but both offer completely different traits. Thought the team adapted well to the system against Hull and when the fullbacks were caught up field Tronstad and Taveres covered the gaps. The intelligence of the players on the field yesterday was spot on and the performance was a joy to watch. - Today

I guess PNE have both Leicester and Ipswich going through plenty of changes they probably played them at the right time. I agree that Selles was strange appointment but I do think he was harshly treated at Hull -
Don't get me wrong I really liked Callum fantastic player did his job well but feel like Alebiosu is stronger and quicker amd cam possibly offer us something sharper going forward

He wasn't his usual self in the post match interaction with the travelling support, that's for sure. Nice lad and a great positive around the dressing room, but no great loss if he was to move on. Maybe to a club that can develop him further, and polish out his obvious flaws whilst optimising his strengths. -

Afolayan seems versatile so Gueye out Afolayan out and he can play upfront if Yuki is injured or needs a rest. Or a PL youngster. Not the scenario I would want happen, but can see us bringing in someone on deadline day to fill the gap if the rumours of Gueye to Emirates are true. I'd take Dennis back if it's a cheap deal, I think he was poor last season but hasn't played much and there's a really good player there. Not sure if his attitute stinks or not, but Ismael will be the judge on that. Dennis can play out wide and upfront if needed too. We need to loan out Leonard in any case - he needs regular men's football, preferably in League One. -

I do think you make a valid point about Brittain one of the best right back in this league Alebiosu has impressed since coming into the team and yes there is player there, still learning about the championship but he appears suited to how we want to play which is very important. Might be better than Brittain in the future but we looked to pick up a bargain there for 500k -

Pleased Rovers won for you and those travelling supporters who went there yesterday lots of great points by you there. -
Spurs played very well against Man City. They pressed City and Trafford made the mistake he has in him. Its far too early to be talking about whether West Ham or Wolves will sack their head coach. Both teams need signings not sacking their head coaches. Its appears from media reports that Forest will sack Nuno after today's game. Not based on results but his comments over the lack of signings ad he has falling with the owner and sporting director. If it happens, then its a shame cos Nuno did a brilliant job there Villa problem is they need sell and sell to meet Profit and Sustainability Rules. Aston Villa: PSR or mismanagement? Bolton fans probably your best bet from his time there, always looked fast, good dribbler, questionable end product/decision making to me, a bit like Kargbo (not meant as a dig at either Afolayan or Kargbo) -

Just catching up properly on my last day before leaving the Florida sunshine, thatโs a stonking win. Really pleased to see Hedges silence the critics (me) this week, I hope he keeps proving us wrong! Feels like getting that first win is a huge monkey off our back
