  1. Past hour
  2. Shearer, Faz, Sir Roger, Garner.
  3. It all went down hill for him after he left rovers. He did a good job everywhere in English football. He had a poor record in Scotland with livingstone but he got Wycombe to the semi finals of the league Cup got them to the play offs. Did a good job at Colchester where he left to go to Norwich. Then the villa job as I said he did ok with no money. When he left rovers he became a journey man
  4. Impossible to pick just 4 I'd say. Couldn't really differentiate between Crompton, Douglas, Clayton, Faz, Parkes, Garner, Shearer, Jack, Dalglish.
  5. Stoke looking strong and well drilled under Mark Robins this season, exactly as you'd expect really from his kind of team. Rovers will need to put in a similar performance to Ipswich and the first 89 mins or so against Birmingham. After the last two performances I am struggling to find any positives that point towards a home win. Think it will be another 1-2 defeat. Ohashi with the Rovers goal.
  6. We'll have to agree to disagree about Lambert. I think he's been poor everywhere he's been except Norwich, never had any intention of staying here more than a few months, and was only brought in by Pasha as someone who (at the time) had gravitas to flog Rhodes and create the impression he knew what he was doing.
  7. Id be surprised if much actual in the flesh scouting where someone with an experienced eye watches a potential target over a number of games takes place these days. The only one of the summer signings who passes the "eye test" is Alebiosu. He's looked decent since minute one of his first game and seems to be getting better. The rest not so much so - and that's being somewhat kind in certain cases.
  8. Lambert was definitely not in that category. He got Norwich two consecutive promotions to the epl then did a decent job at villa under tough circumstances. Though I agree about coyle
  9. Two separate things can be right at the same time. Few would agree with the second bit but that doesn't mean VI isn't also a very poor manager. I think he's terrible. One game and ten minutes of the next one to unravel all Eustace's good work. Eleven defeats from Twenty competitive fixtures. Arguably most important going forward, can anyone see what he's trying to implement on the pitch? You could maybe cut him a little slack if you could see any signs of a defined style of play or identity taking shape. Instead we were promised exciting high intensity pressing football and are getting the polar opposite. Needs replacing asap for me. Obviously doubtful whether he will be due to the length of contract etc but you'd have hoped a sensible Club would have inserted some sort of break clause somewhere along the way as insurance.
  10. Probably the only way they could attract him if the wage was poor.
  11. As you say so did Coyle. And Lambert. We tend to specialise in these sort of guys who primarily have been a failure but might have had a good season at some point because in general we refuse to pay the compensation for a manager in employment who's on an upward trajectory. Preferring instead to take a punt on someone who's either out of work or on the managerial scrap heap and desperate for work.
  12. Does anyone know whos in charge of the drum in the Blackburn end? I know some of the kids have go and love they are involved but doesnt half kill the vibe sometimes 😐 *awaits being pounced on 😆🙏
  13. In fairness it is quite funny when things get so bad even Chaddy starts to turn (eg. Ismael's first few games), everyone falls over themselves to praise and congratulate him, only to then react with shock and dismay when after a win he returns right back to his default position.
  14. Like when we ended up with Coyle instead of Warnock.
  15. Today
  16. Chaddy did have a rare moment of enlightenment at the end of last season and (quite rightly) wanted VI gone after the five successive defeats. Taking a critical stance obviously doesn't sit well with him though and he quickly changed his mind back again as soon as we won a few in what at the time appeared to be dead rubbers. Now things actually matter again, we predictably can't buy a result and are back to square one with chaddy now fairly isolated in his support of VI and doubling down by becoming ever more strident in shooting down any criticism of the fella.
  17. Set up the go fundme I'll support it obviously.
  18. Don't shoot the messenger here but I have been told that plans are being drawn up to play Old Etonians in a celebratory match to mark our 150 year anniversary. Rovers will be represented by a veterans team. The plans are to play the match at Ewood after the Derby County match which is a 12.30 kick off. Old Etonians play in the Arthurian League, something probably akin to the West Lancs League. https://www.arthurianleague.co.uk/etonians.html
  19. I'm too young to remember Iley, so while I can see his stats in black and white, I don't have to recall memory of watching it. I went for Ince, his tenure was dire on the pitch and comical at times off it. Was in way over his head, nothing was ever his fault and he just looked permanently confused. Awful. As others have mentioned, Ismael has been as bad, but Ince walked into a well run club so arguably had better infrastructure in place to succeed. Might have to come back and re-vote for Ismael if we're bottom on boxing day.
  20. I find it very strange how there has been no official mention of the U17s win over the dingles, I would have thought they would want some positive news this week, although maybe they have banked it to try and relieve some negativity if there is another loss for the first team this weekend?
  21. Pretty sure he would of been able to attend
  22. And maybe heavily weighted to an expected pay off at some point. Who drew it up and signed it off i'd like to know, are we back in Shaw/Berg territory here ? Did it go over Waggots head and straight to the desk of the other fella and Gestede....
  23. I imagine the Rovers job selection criteria is much like a phone in auction, but in reverse, where out of work managers keep undercutting each other until all of the competition has dropped out of the race and we are left with a winner No other consideration unless we just happen to have 2 or more guys who will work for the same low price
  24. Shame Gestede wasn’t pressed on this more by Radio Lancs etc, particularly when he slipped up in one interview saying the average championship manager tenure is much less (from memory he cited 12-18 months). As you say, what on earth warranted a 3.5 year deal. IMO a combination of agents and jobs for the boys.
  25. if I think Criticism is warrant I will post it, No I won't be on always on here during the week due to work commitments, family commitments, that's life in the coming months. I will do it cos YOU or OTHERS tell me do so. Its far too early to judge many of the signings as many of them haven't played much. Alebiosu has been best so far as he has played the most, McLoughlin look decent enough for what we want. Miller has done alright so far, the rest we haven't much off yet. Lets the play some more games and understand how they adapt to the UK and Championship football Its my choice to continue to be STH and to buy shirts, away tickets, etc My choice. exactly Joey Jansen would be working for Stockport County on Saturday
