  1. Past hour
  2. Problem with him now as i see it is he knows he's a back up player and his attitude matches that, how often does he give away needless free kicks or open his mouth at the ref when hes committed one ? 5 year contract tailed him off imo.
  3. Any good transfer rumours with some solid links?
  4. By the same token, Rovers weren't playing against the best players and managers in the world. If reaching the quarter and semi of the world Cup and both European finals open to him, making him our 2nd best ever manager, whilst overseeing the whole system from first team down isn't a successful period, we'll have to agree to disagree.
  5. It isnt, its just an opinion. You are fixated on policing negativity beyond having a reasonable discussion. His best spell came further up under Mowbray (ie away from his own penalty box) but it was only a brief period. When he moved back he regularly lost the ball dawdling in dangerous areas. He obviously has some technical ability but he doesnt have a picture of what is around him. This wont suit the idea that I am only interested in negatives but Tronstad rarely loses the ball in those areas because he plays quickly and knows what is around him. I also have not seen much evidence of him being a "fantastic passer." There is a reason that he has failed to keep a regular place for a nunber of years under numerous managers, that he was loaned out and that he is now totally out of favour.
  6. If Buckley doesn't have the physical tools to handle the Championship he certainly won't be able to hack it in League 1. A similarly technically gifted player like Dack was a decent blend of both which is why he was able to handle both the Championship and League 1, and probably could have stepped up to be useful in the PL if injuries hadn't wrecked his opportunity to do so. Idk, feels like Buckley's skillset would be better suited abroad. Or as he is now - a second string Championship player who can give something different from the bench when players are tiring and the game is a bit less physical.
  7. Well there won't be 100,000,000 of them i can tell you that.
  8. Buckley is a moron, plain and simple. Big ego bad attitude, something was off when we he started arguing with officials and it just got worse and worse. He is his own worst enemy
  9. Complete nonsense, all of it. Can’t take the ball on the turn is a line you repeat often. It’s drivel. And he’s a fantastic passer of a ball when he’s in his game. You should pay more attention to what is actually going on instead of just focusing on the negatives all the time.
  10. Im not sure I have seen many of these 40 yard passes from supposedly someone who can play these passes as well as anyone in the league. I suspect most players could at this level with enough time. But he has no awareness of what is going on around him, he takes far too long and cant take the ball on the turn. Im not saying that his application isnt in question but it isnt just a case of that stopping him from being a really good player at this level. He has been consistently poor in a deeper midfield role and he isnt productive enough to warrant playing further forward.
  11. The only reason they don’t invest is by choice and not by impediment. Their wealth means they can easily afford to support the club with modest investment (eg a couple of decent signings and new contracts for our better players). If they don’t have the desire to properly fund the club then they need to sell up. It all makes zero sense.
  12. Christ people have been saying the same about Buckley for years it's about time the penny dropped. He's had numerous chances to stake his claim but never has he's now on the 3rd gaffer who'll likely see him as 3rd or 4th choice back up.
  13. It is, cos he’s as good a long-range passer as there is in the Chamionship. Even Adam Wharton can’t ping a ball at pace like Buckley can over 40 yards onto the toe of the winger. He’d actually be a great asset to Val who seems to like to play with quick wingers so there may be a chance for him. It’s just the rest of Buckleys game has gone massively backwards. He also doesn’t move, he just shuffles round asking for the ball. Only Tugay gets away with that! Shame cos I really rate Buckley. He just needs to pull his finger out.
  14. Middlesbrough red card ruined him...He looked on good form in games before and even in that game alone. He's not done anything since.

  17. It’s a shame how Buckley has tailed off. As you say, he certainly has an eye for a pass and I had very high hopes for him, at one point.
  18. I’m ok with saying he looks like he can get about the pitch 👍
  19. They TURNED DOWN an offer of outside money to run the women's team these people WOULDN'T be redundant if they'd taken that on board. They've relegated their own women's team into the 4th tier pull your head out your a##.
  20. I'm fairly sure those clips are sped up a bit, some of them don't look quite right. So I wouldn't read too much into the tempo.
  21. God only knows what side we will be able to put out come first game....grim stuff this.
  22. I agree. The impediments in place, don’t prevent them from sending funds, but whether it’s semantics or not, there are impediments and that’s a fact.
  23. I think the club sees this summer as a chance to reduce costs and renew the squad. Players like JRC and Buckley, whilst both being technically very good IMO, just don’t have the physicality to provide what Val is after. He appears to want hard-running players to go along with high-tempo style and it’s already been stated they are after a box-to-box midfielder. Buckley couldn’t be further away from that profile but he’s still a fantastic passer of the ball when he’s on his game. But it’s probably time he moved on. I don’t think Val wants someone shuffling around the centre circle at 4mph! JRC looked really good in CM under JDT, and was making really good runs into the box. He could fit the Box-to-box role easily, cos he’s no slouch when he’s fit and he’s a nasty fucker when he wants to be, as well as being a really intelligent player….but sadly he’s just of glass. If he could stay fit he could be a real asset again. They are both Championship level and should get a club. Not sure how much they’re worth though as I’m guessing they’ve only got a couple of years at most left on their contracts.
  24. Are Rovers the only business to declare a redundancy situation?
  25. Ironically the one given 5 years to secure the asset was the one who almost instantly fell away the most and i personally think there is a connection. It did come under the Mowbray and Venus regime though so not that surprising.
