  1. Past hour
  2. He'll increase his wages here and play a level above where he's currently playing at. Next chance might be in the summer, then there's the risk of injuries, form drop etc. If another team offers better terms, then that's probably where he'll go. As for long term, why would he care if we're just a stepping stone on his way to the Premier League. Do you think anyone will pay £5m for him this window? I can't see it happening myself, but it will probably drag out until next weekend before this one is resolved one way or the other.
  3. Sounds feasible. Still don't agree with it - you should be picked on merit alone and in the long run we're better playing Pratt. And if you're that worried about costs, wouldn't cost any loan fee at all.
  4. Pretty sure they wouldn't have at the time. They might be worrying about it by now. Of course proper owners would be ringing the stooges up about now playing holy hell because we've recently dropped into the bottom 3. Whether our lot care enough or have even noticed is of course very much up for debate.
  5. I would be very surprised if we got him as in surely other teams would be interested that said thre must be some indication from player/agent/club the deal could get done add to that whilst we are in an awful position Barnsley are 4 points from relegation to league 2 form like our own has fell off a cliff and he simply could just want out
  6. You positive bugger! 😄😉 On the boycott, I will say fair play to those that give up their time and energy to do what they believe is right. I've criticised it, but I do respect those who volunteer their own time for something they believe in. I do a bit of volunteering for perhaps lesser causes, and I know even a small amount of effort can take a lot out of you. My criticism might come across as "it's pointless", and perhaps I do feel that way, and perhaps I'll be wrong. I'd actually be glad to be wrong about it. I, like the rest of, probably hope for owners that care and are involved with the club, rather than treating us like a disowned child that needs a monthly allowance to survive (OK, that's one perspective, it could be framed differently). If everyone thinks I've done something out of turn, I won't fight it. That's what you think, and I'm not going to change anybody's mind. I might have said a few things with a dash of emotion or laziness. I don't think I'm the only one guilty of that, but I think most of us do it, and it's a silly cherry on top of our arguments or whatever. I do think because of my stance (which I would class as "on the fence, not sure, etc."), there is a tendency to view it with extra cynicism. And perhaps I do the same to you. Perhaps there's a lesson in there somewhere that, rather than "you" being at fault, or "me" being at fault, we're all a bit guilty of adding to division. On fault, though, none of us are at fault. Not those staying away. Not those attending. To blame one or the other isn't right. The faults lie elsewhere, and those faults have divided and conquered us. And I bet our overall feelings to the Venky's, at least on an emotional level, are no different to each others. So... Group hug?! Hopefully I'm not repeating myself... But I would like to see owners that are more involved. For all the mismanagement by the Venky's, I could perhaps stomach it a bit more if they were actually here, getting involved, making decisions, making us feel like we actually have an owner. That's gone on for far too long, although it's worth remembering when they seemed fairly involved right at the beginning, you could argue the decision making was much worse. And what does that say? On the basis alone, I want them out and replaced with owners that are involved more with the club, have their finger on the pulse, and yes, show some care. There is a practical side to it, and I think that's where opinions differ. But that's my general take.
  7. @Vinjay you not agree with this?
  8. Ismael signed up for the project. If they change him then Suhail & Rudy have to indoctrinate a new guy…too much like hard work that, so keep the current guy.
  9. I’ve heard it said on a number of podcasts that loan deals are often structured around the fee being determined by appearances made - so more games, lower loan fee paid. Rovers will no doubt be balancing that given the urge to cut costs everywhere…
  10. Thanks chaps and to Frosty in particular (very handy site that). I was interested in what the league as a whole defines as a firing level of incompetence and how VI compares. These were the points when Championship managers were fired compared to us at the same time. Watford had 5 more points yet they still fired Pezzolano Swansea had 1 more Yet they still fired Sheehan Leicester have 11 more than us now and they fire Cifuentes Southampton had 1 less than us when they fired Still, so virtually level pegging Norwich had 7 less than us, so Manning deserved it! Seems we don't hold our manager to the same level scrutiny. Other boards look to have more of an idea as to how to manage a club - especially when you see they are all ahead of us now.
  11. Weirdly, I have a gut feeling that we are going to win. They weren't any better than us in the cup and I believe that'll be the motivation to drag a result over the line. Yes. I know it won't REALLY happen but I am trying to focus on the wise words of the legendary Kriss Akabusi - PMA. Positive, Mental. Attitude. Therefore, Rovers 4-0 Hull City.
  12. I think this lot - Pasha and Gestede - are arrogant They have seen what Waggott and Mowbray were doing, and to a lesser degree JDT and Broughton, and think they can do as well if not better than them on a lower budget. I think this arrogance continues today - a refusal to backtrack or make changes despite it leading us into the bottom 3, a refusal to seek a change of manager or change in transfer approach. I think they think that we genuinely are in a 'false position' based on injuries/back luck/statistics and that we will eventually get enough to get us over the line and they'll get a pat on the back from the money people running the show at the other end. As you say - this is playing Russian Roulette with the club and its future. If it works then they get another year on the gravy train, a bonus and they can argue it was worth getting rid of Broughton, Eustace, Waggott and all those players because we've still got Championship income and significantly reduced costs whilst bringing in millions from sales. But if it doesn't - and I don't think it will - we go down and there's another £10 million gap in the finances to plug. I don't think the owners or stooges will have seriously thought about this
  13. I dont know if it's true or not. I've always thought it's more likely with these things that rather than a written agreement that "player X will play a minimum 80 minutes every week" etc there more of a general understanding that said player will get a good amount of games time every week or any privileges will be withdrawn etc. Im not in favour of either. The fact Cashin was brought straight back in after just one game out does nothing to persuade me that something fishy isnt going on frankly.
  14. I think its the wrong way round to suggest almost as if the stooges have convinced Venkys to cut back like we have. Venkys have no interest in the club. Ive no doubt that Suhail and Gestede are happy to oblige as is clear. Championship clubs lose money because wages are so high and more often than not outstrip all income before considering other cost. Wages would massively come down further if we went down. But again, I am not convinced thats the aim, just an inevitable symptom.
  15. Don’t forget ‘bovine tremblers’
  16. So they just cut playing costs accordingly. In my opinion they couldn’t care one way or another as long as they don’t have to pay a £1 more than they need to.
  17. Presuming all people that bought tickets and had season tickets attended those games 😉
  18. People are free to use the other forum as they wish, I’m not their boss. But using that platform to slag people off from here, when they’ve no right of reply is the bit I’m not comfortable with.
  19. Maybe swap Diamini and Powell around ?
  20. If we're the only suitor for him maybe. If not and If we're going down, (which I think we are) what's the point in him moving unless we're a better long term prospect? (eg Derby v Rovers) Im not even sure we're that at the moment either. All likely to be hypothetical debate anyway as we won't pay the fee for him.
  21. Today
  22. That was what I was asking, it just seems like one of those rumours that is put out there, then 6 pages later becomes fact. it may well be true, having said that, for me lit's only really a problem if he doesn't earn his place
  23. I don't think so, get a better wage and play at a higher level for a few months, and put yourself in the shop window even more. At best we stay up and he either moves on after impressing or he has another season with us to show what he can do at this level. At worst, he ends up back at the level he was playing on anyway, for more money I presume. If Barnsley were in the running to go up, then maybe it wouldn't be worth the risk. I suspect other clubs will be in for him this week anyway so it won't matter.
  24. It seems that way. Joseph on the bench for when that proves to be ineffective Michalski Houghton Carter Pratt Batty Vare Garrett Doherty Powell Dlamini Tyjon
  25. I think it's more likely that the owners don't WANT to be relegated but that Pasha and Gestede (and Waggott when he was still here) pitched them this masterplan about how they could reduce the age of the squad with a view to selling players on, save a shitload of costs in terms of wages and STILL retain Championship status! (Cue £ signs!) In short the stooges have played Russian roulette with our Championship future and probably failed. The live bullet is about to go off. I still dont think either that anyone has accounted properly for the loss of Championship TV Revenue if we go down plus all the other associated loss of revenue. The net position will be we'll be a lot worse off.
  26. Barnsley are 15th in the table in League One. Why wouldn't he come here on higher wages and a new showground before the next step up? So much negativity on here, a lot of it is justified, but c'mon...
  27. There is no chance we get Cleary. But assuming he is a target. As much as he looks a real talent, its another example of us trying to build a squad without a plan. They cant seem to decide on a formation and seem to not strongly consider signing square pegs for square holes.
