  1. Past hour
  2. Can understand the Plymouth - Rooney thing as he was a big name and that brought a bit of profile to a small club from a rarely mentioned non footballing area. He worked for the wage they offered and walked without a pay off so in terms of a gamble it was probably worth it for them it just didn't pay off. Bit different to bringing him in here.
  3. Mrs Shoelaces will be there. I only go to Hornets home games these days.
  4. In a drizzly Colwyn Bay today as a neutral for Crusaders v. Rochdale. Thankfully the stand is high as well as covered, as I have forgotten my glasses so wouldn't have seen a thing pitchside ๐Ÿ™ƒ
  5. His decision making is his major failing. He gets as many wrong as he gets right. He โ€œ doesnโ€™t know when to stick and when to twist โ€œ.
  6. They were at Liverpool FC at different times
  7. Looks hope for a good Spanish Grand Prix. Monaco race was boring and not a great race
  8. This Plymouth link smacks of another Silvester type appointment. He was also previously involved at Liverpool. If I was to have a guess, I'd say the same people who 'found' Silvester back in 2011, are the ones trying to link this Plymouth fella to the CEO vacancy here. No thanks.
  9. I don't see Gestede being made the CEO for us this summer. If so, the owners would have done it straight away. They don't care about bad press otherwise they would have made a different decision over the women team and actually invested more than the minimum and they could have made some investment in the women's team and got promotion plus good PR from it. If I was the Rovers owner I would have invested a couple of million into the team and go for promotion, the interest in the Rovers women team isn't alot but having a better overall strategy to increase attendance but also make good PR for the club and the women game interest and popularly is increase even tho it isn't for myself. On the CEO, Parkinson's CV is more than decent enough and understand the role and his previous role at Liverpool means he understand how a football club is run but also been part of Plymouth's success. Nicko says Venkys has appointed a headhunt agency to find a new CEO so that's rules Gestede out surely.
  10. have their owners invested in the club and funding it properly plus wasn't their chairman of the company that owns the club at the stadium and part of after match celebrations.
  11. much rather be in the stadium supporting my team than watching on home even tho I can watch plenty of fixtures on TV. You can't beat being there watching your team. I much prefer being at Ewood Park 23 times a season then sat at home watching from my armchair every single time.
  12. yet again, never comment on Nicko's record have I or have I said he gets things wrong but people don't read the story properly. Just to be clear, Nicko's story hasn't said he is coming here but he is early front runner. Clearly other clubs will be clearly interest in our best young players just we were when Eze and Tyjon were at Stanley and Rochdale. Did anyone moan or complain when we took their best young players
  13. Like to think I'm the resident pasty expert on here ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ as I live in the land of the pasty (see my avatar). It's a pastry wrapped item, but so is a beef Wellington. ๐Ÿ™„ It should never be referred to as a type of pie! ๐Ÿ˜‚
  14. It was Former Plymouth director of Football Neil Dewship who was behind the Rooney appointment given Dewship was his youth coach at Everton when Rooney was coming through the ranks at Everton. None of us complained when we take Stanley or Rochdale brighter young players for our academy.
  15. Today
  16. because paris has an immigrant problem that makes ours seem a tiny dilemma ,anything for a riot, they were at it a few summers ago when the outer suburbs were ablaze inter wer`nt very italian were they, there were massive gaps in their backline for the first two goals
  17. lovely with some wigan caviar
  18. Never heard of that but now I have I want one.
  19. Go and have a listen to his first 2 albums, if you havenโ€™t done already Ups. Greetings from Asbury Park. NJ and The Wild, The Innocent, & the E Street Shuffle. Knowing your musical tastes from reading on here, I think youโ€™ll at least appreciate them. More recently, the Wrecking Ball album was brilliant, Bruce was angry with those robbing bankers, capitalism and the burden being placed on me and you to bail the swines out.
  20. For a little balance, he also was CEO when they went from league 1 to championship. Decent CV, Director of Operations at Liverpool. From my recollection it was the owner who wanted Rooney. Talking of the academy, we also poach from other โ€˜smallerโ€™ clubs and itโ€™s the way of the world. Very disappointing but itโ€™s how the football food chain works ๐Ÿ˜ž
  21. I don't, and I appreciate people's situations and the struggles they have, but there will never be a better atmosphere until people turn up, it stands to reason.
  22. And are a sportswashing project for Qatar
  23. You miss the point here by a large unit of measure.
  24. You can watch them all for free on the stick, and if they're crap you haven't even had to leave the house. AND YET, like others you still choose to buy a season ticket, because no matter how comfy your seat at home and how bad the weather is getting there, you just can't beat that big screen experience.
  25. The pies over here are made with the flaky pastry. It's just wrong. They're alright though. At the end of the day you can't beat a Wigan kebab.
  26. The whole search for a CEO is likely to just be another sham media performance before they appoint Gestede as "no one else wanted the job". It's a funny one as unlike the other positions they fill with nobodies who are totally unqualified and inexperienced, CEO is a position that carries a certain weight to it and a level of expectation as to what powers and responsibilities an individual in that position would have. Anyone we get externally will just be another gravy train rider who is willing to just be a sham CEO and take orders from the guy beneath them.
  27. Just what the feck is the point of our academy if all we are going to do is sell any gems we unearth before the fans have even had opportunity to see them grace the blue and white shirt?! Not interested in, IMO, shite like Buckley and JRC but I do want to see the likes of Dunn, Jones, Wharton etc Sounds like a Rovers' appointment! Just why the feck do we want a CEO who thought Rooney was a good appointment just months after his Brum disaster. I think we really are owned and run by muppets.
