  1. Past hour
  2. Good riddance As always with Venkys, what is around the corner is over The end of Pax Mowbray brought with it tumultuous times.
  3. No doubt Glen will speak for himself specifically on this but yesterday his Twitter feed had a statement by the Coalition which included the following statement : " The very notion that anyone except the Rao family and Suhail Shaikh are to blame for their calamitous stewardship of the club should be rejected out of hand by the entire fanbase."
  4. We had Derek Shaw before Waggott If it's not Gestede it will just be another Shaw/Waggott. This move to get rid of Waggott is just an attempt to shift the blame onto him and away from Pascha and the owners
  5. That was my thought too. A lot of those cant possibly just be blamed on him alone. Was he the reason they were forced out?
  6. And far longer than what he deserved
  7. On here you'll find many who see through the veil, but generally? I think he's been able to convince the majority at Ewood that all is in hand. Let's face it, for most little more is needed than a handful of victories on the pitch for all to be forgiven, get behind the lads ffs, etc. I did like that JDT needled him about his stupid leased coach comment repeatedly, but I also saw a lot of our fans right after that interview posting about how much sense Waggott was making (on Twitter/X, granted, but that's sadly probably more representative of the average fan than the people who post on here and other more detailed football forums). I don't think Suhail and Rudy can even present a facade of respectability, though. Certain fans with the blinkers on will parrot the upper management's nonsense regardless of how vapid it is, but I think even a lot of casuals found Rudy's interviews in particular to be absolute nonsense.
  8. Well known he wanted another year so he's actually got the boot. Be nice to think for someone better but we won't get fooled again.
  9. Fantastic in isolation to get rid of such a waste of space. But I cant see much changing. Venkys are and have always been the problem, as others have said its just shuffling the deckchairs on the titanic while they stay. It will also inevitably lead to incompetent kiss arses like Gestede and Sufi moving up the chain.
  10. Glad he's gone, did nothing but lie and weasel his way around the club for years whilst dumbing down all level of expectations at the club. He has overseen a period of systematic cost cutting/asset stripping of all things Blackburn Rovers. Pasha next please.
  11. All that has happened under Waggott and would no doubt have continued under him though. I'd rather hope someone came in who wanted to try and grow the Club as opposed to shrink it and reduce it in size.
  12. don't you mean : He at least lied to fans.
  13. "Financially viable" ffs. Our owners are billionaires. If you don't want to support all areas of the club properly then SELL THE CLUB. Don't cry poverty whilst sitting in your mansions, jets and limos.
  14. As soon as he ever opened his mouth I just assumed he was lying and that the opposite was true.
  15. Not as much as if you voted no!!
  16. Think you're being too kind there. I don't think he did know how to do that, especially the arrogance part.
  17. This is cost cutting. Although Pasha and Waggott didn't get on particularly, SW acted as a shield for Pasha and he performed that role very well - to the benefit of Pasha and the owners, not the club. In terms of decision making, SW has been sidelined for the last 12 months with Pasha, Sufi and Gestede being the ruling gang. So possible scenario ( with added 'conspiracy theory' comments ) Pasha ( former Kentaro/SEM) COO Gestede ( recently played for S Kean in Australia ) CEO Adam Owen ( recently worked with S Kean at Hibs ) Head of Football operations
  18. Got to say, I'm happy Waggott is going. But it has to be tempered by the concern over who will be in his seat next. You have to hope for a competent, non-corrupt CEO, but history has shown that actually trying to get anything done as CEO here just gets you fired, or you get alienated and leave. I guess we can hope for non-corrupt and competent, but knowing when they'll have to keep their mouth shut and what battles to pick or else we will just get someone worse. As long as they don't treat fans like cash cows that would be an upgrade, but the real problems aren't going away until Venkys do.
  19. That Pasha's 'model' is put on steroids and enabled by Gestede. "We can't spend £10m on a player" becomes "we can't spend £500k on a player". Being in the Championship is not 'sustainable' so they're content to drop down the leagues and first team is purely a pathway for what's left of the academy to get some league minutes. Cut spending more, sell anything that looks like an asset, leave infrastructure to rot, minimise losses and keep their gravy train going. Gestede thinks he can do what Broughton and JDT couldn't and somehow perform miracles on no budget so he's happy to tow the Pasha line.
  20. Don't think it really makes much difference as long as Venky's & Suhail are around, but lol @ that statement, or lack thereof. Might as well have just read "GTFO". Waggott was the only one of the terrible trio who had any idea of how to speak to the media or fans without sounding exceptionally arrogant and/or totally clueless. Most of what he said was waffle, but it was - for the most part - the kind of waffle that experienced execs specialise in. Stuff that has no value, but on the surface sounds reasonable. Words that over tea and biscuits lead some people to declare that bright things are on the horizon for Rovers. It's a basic requirement if you need to do PR or stakeholder meetings somewhat regularly, but neither Suhail nor Rudy are any good at it judging from the recent interviews. Idk who comes in to replace him, nor do I care. All that matters is Venky's being removed.
  21. Broughton hired JDT He gets credit for Eustace. After that im struggling other than perhaps suhail has made that job virtually impossible.
  22. Suhail would have wanted Broughton out. Broughton recommended that part of the Wharton fee was used improve the squad. Suhail nor the owners wanted that.
  23. But what did Waggott do that long term pushed the Club in the right direction? ** Anything? We got lucky to an extent with Adam Wharton which kept the lights on for a bit but even he was sold at the wrong point for a pitiful fee. ** I'm guessing some people will say appoint two excellent Head Coaches in JDT and Eustace but as he then alienated them to the point where they both walked out, I'm not sure how valid that point is.
  24. Probably not under the new league requirements. The womens team would have to go fully professional, which without knowing exact details of that I'd estimate is close to a 500k a year commitment. And I think other expenditure was required too. On top of that, you can't just operate without a CEO. We will have to bring a new one in, and whilst I'm certain we would downgrade the pay, it probably won't be by 500k... Tbh the womens team ship has sailed, we have already confirmed we aren't entering the league again.
  25. He just can't handle bald lads from Accy.
