  1. Past hour
  2. Ok. We're going round in circles. The fact that the Club want to loan him out suggests they dont feel he's good enough for their first team. In those circumstances I'd say "the majority of the time" the parent Club would prefer a deal where there's a good chance of selling for a realistic fee at the end of the deal than an out and out loan. In fact maybe the story does ring true. We're probably wanting to loan him with a view to buying him for a half eaten Mars Bar and an empty Coke can at the end of the loan in our usual style.
  3. Covered this summers transfer business and then some in one fell swoop that Brittain deal. Pasha and Gestede will be laughing there heads off.
  4. Im pretty sure that Mercer said Derby.
  5. He's going to go so get it done ASAP imo. If its left to later in the window then the club will claim they tried to get a replacement in but couldn't get it done in time. Then they hope, once again, it becomes yesterday's news and fans don't shout about the money not being re-invested. We're still waiting for the Wharton and Szmodics money to be re-invested! We saw a top-ish level striker as a priority in Jan and were linked with some good names, yet come the summer we're not even targeting a new striker. How does that work?!
  6. I would also hazard a guess that if we could use up to date figures, and then take out Rotherham, Plymouth, Huddersfield etc, and replace them with Wrexham, Charlton etc, we may slip another spot or 2
  7. Think sports Pete is awful although I think there could be some substance to this given the massive Hackney windfall pending
  8. As mentioned by Mercer. Terrible. Duru and Ryan to step up. I personally liked the look of Duru, but seems he had bad luck with injuries last season?
  9. The below is from here https://www.matchdayfinance.com/post/championship-financial-results-season-2023-24
  10. πŸ˜ͺπŸ™ƒ at least it's not to Derby.

  12. They've just managed to appoint a new manager. No idea why anyone would take that job on right now.
  13. "Quite often" is like asking "how long is a piece of string?". I would envisage that your scenario more applies to senior and/or highly paid players rather than youngsters But the majority of the time, (in well over half of cases), players are loaned out in order to develop and improve them
  14. Quite often when you want them off the wage bill but there's no takers on a permanent basis.
  15. That's 6 points for us then! 😟
  16. Thanks, do you happen to know when β€˜til?
  17. CCL. Gone. End of. Time to move on, even if he does rock up on our 150th birthday celebration game and piss on our chips.
  18. Iv not said he is any good I know the square root of fuck all about him. The link probably is bullshit but your point that it makes the link less likely due to his club only wanting to loan him rather than with a view is what I'm disagreeing with. Why does any club loan a player rather than just selling them?
  19. A real end to end match with Rovers coming out on top. Well done Ian and Scott for keeping the blue flag flying high.
  20. So why dont they play him in their own side if he's that good? Let's see if it happens anyhow. You can be linked with anyone but it's irrelevant unless they actually end up here. Im calling BS on that particular one with the mock up of him in last year's kit as well.
  21. Today
  22. Because he is a young player and maybe they see a future for him there and only want to loan him to gain experience and playing time?
  23. Yes but generally to Clubs below us/them who think the loanee could improve them. Are this Club so far above our level this guy could make a massive difference on loan?
  24. Rovers will loan out several players this season with the intent of improving them rather than selling them, other clubs do the same
  25. All very true but these businesses are like super tankers once they start moving in a particular direction it takes a long time to turn them around. All the recent evidence suggests things are declining at present
  26. Maybe with the second one, first one, just play him in your own team then! Until it happens as with all transfer rumours involving us I'll take it with a lorry load of salt. If there's any mileage in it though, not for the first time this summer we seem to be seeking a deal completely different from what the selling Club want. "Β£4m ? How does Β£1.5m sound?" "We know we agreed a deal but our medical has uncovered a minor problem that might flare up in future. We'll offer a pay as you play arrangement." "You'll ONLY willing to let him go out on loan? Can we have a loan with a view?" Creates the impression of activity I suppose.
