  1. Past hour
  2. Im with chaddy on this one. Thought it was a strange move for Edwards to make. Other than a short term boost to his finances, couldnt really see any upside to it and he might end up making himself unemployable in the long run.
  3. Keep up the good work. The latest abandonment was manna from heaven for you in finally getting the EFL to sit up and take notice Id imagine.
  4. Im not deflecting from the owners. That's all in your head. Everything that happens is ultimately the owners responsibility. Im not sure though why you struggle with the concepts that: a) The owners aren't hands on and half the time probably dont have a clue what's going on down at Ewood. They do allow a degree of latitude to those on the ground and let them get on with running (ruining) the Club. b) Generally they employ incompetent people and/ or willing patsys. Just because they are incompetent or compliant doesn't mean they should be absolved from any or all blame as you seem to think nor that they shouldnt be removed if we've to be any hope of being successful. Once again, just for the avoidance of any doubt as you're struggling to grasp it, it's the owners fault for employing this calibre of person and their fault if they fail to remove them. Said people shouldnt be immune to criticism or stay in situ however.
  5. Could these strategies be outlined further? I do not think everyone is fully aware of why this would follow.
  6. Agree with that although based on his goal return at PL2 level, his correct current level is the U21s 3 goals in 3 this season 4 goals in 7 last season
  7. Im not convinced he would have taken Boro up either way. And certainly, I dont think he would have then attracted a bigger club. I think theres a naivety though about the fact that football management is still a job. They wouldnt do it for free and wont be so flippant about money just because "they arent short of money."
  8. They struggle to score, we struggle to keep clean sheets. Their form isn't great, our away form is good. We struggle to score two. Im predicting a score draw. 1-1. Which is not a lot of use to either of us. We most certainly don't want to lose, nor experience a 96th minute calamity. COYB.
  9. In my opinion Tyjon was in and around the first team to try to persuade him to sign for us. When this hasn't worked he has been dropped to his correct level.
  10. Rather have another promotion on CV and the opportunity to move onto a bigger club than money. You talk like Edwards is short of money. Maybe you are his financial manager the way you talk.
  11. We certainly don't think the owners are part of the solution. However, if certain people leave. We’re very certain the owners will follow. Hardest part is pleasing everyone. We’re trying our best
  12. Except if it is the Rovers, on recent experience.
  13. Today
  14. He cant (legally speaking at least) sign a pre contract with another English side until the final month of his deal (its the final 6 months of his deal if he went to any other country) Not that I am disputing that he may well end up at another English side
  15. Nah, that was because he wanted to be closer to home or something...
  16. If he doesn't sign another contract in the EFL where he can easily get 15k a week, and instead chooses to earn a quarter of that in Norway hats off to him. But im fully expecting him to sign a pre contract with Derby, Watford, QPR, Middleborough in feb. The family thing I am sure is right but no one walks away from a million quid extra on a two year contract. We really are absolute specialists in giving our best players away for free. Must be the best the division has ever seen?
  17. A big contract paid up and having to do nothing for it. Not a bad consolation prize.
  18. Obviously, but still, if the coalition believes the current owners could be part of the solution then the group is unfortunately misaligned with my view. Venky's have had fifteen years and the only constant is failure (17/18 aside, but we were in League 1). They will always be part of the problem. The call must be for them to go and nothing else, in my opinion. Of course, the coalition can do as they please and if the idea is still to engage with the owners, good luck.
  19. Who scores the first goal will be crucial.
  20. That’s pretty poor. I expect most decent amateur players would be able to get through the first round at least.
  21. The way Gueye hit that when compared to pretty much everyone else just sums him up. No footballing intelligence at all.
  22. I fear the worst this afternoon , good away form does not last , it is not as though we have a team full of good championship players .This squad of players is very poor to say the least ! Put into the mix injuries and a very poor manager , it does not bode well .. I hope I am wrong !
  23. Well it should be a relatively decent atmosphere which the players have mentioned now multiple times helps them, so let's hope we nab a win. Our form is much better than theirs on paper although we're drawing too many, and that often leads to relegation worries. Ribeiro has looked very rusty lately, but he will do after bot being featured very often so hopefully he perks up a bit today. They've failed to score in 6 of their last 8 games now so it's obvious where their weakness lies, of course we do have a habit of helping teams out in such circumstances so don't rule put a 3 nil home win. In the interest of optimism 2-1 away win with a Gudjohnsen brace, we're capable of it but certainly need an improvement on Oxford....
  24. I am one who doesn't use the numbers for positions but he was deeper than I would have expected. He was usually at the forefront of the midfield when we were pressing which likely was tactical. He got on the ball more and played more advanced after their player was sent off and Southampton sacrificed one of their midfielders. They also played on the counter attack after the red card.
  25. Our very own @rog of the rovers was on Radio Lancs Sport last night - 37:30 in… https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m002mygq?partner=uk.co.bbc&origin=share-mobile
  26. I have a good friend who is a Portsmouth fan. I met up with him at the same fixture last season, which was a horrible away day for us Rovers. He is dreading today's game (and every game, currently). Like us, injuries have hit them hard with no squad depth and defence a particular problem for today. Goals are there for our taking. His view is that if opponents can nullify the pace and creativity of Josh Murphy then Pompey have nothing at all going forward. His predictions is a Rovers win. I'm feeling similar in that a failure by Rovers to win this one will be a big disappointment and concern for the rest of the season.
