Aye, I think it's just the nature of having a deadline. Whenever you have it, this will happen. Because clubs try to play brinkmanship games with each other, or they completely run out of their main targets so make a desperation bid at the last minute (or even a day or so before), which starts other dominoes moving. It's wild, of course, but if you really think about it, it's pretty much inevitable. Only a club with infinite pockets wouldn't have to worry about it and could do their business ahead of time, and thanks to FFP and P&S, even they do now. Or a club that gets lucky and just manages to land all its targets at fair prices punctually, and isn't subject to late vulture bids itself.

My thoughts as well, if we'd added to the squad with some of these signings I'd be pleased but we've replaced proven championship players who composed the spine of the team with cheaper alternatives from minor European leagues.

Fair play. Do you still believe everyone is totally aligned? Do you think Ismael will be happy? Ismael wanted to change 6 or 7, we will have signed 10 and still are short in certain areas. He wanted to keep Travis/Hyam/Batth/Brittain/Weimann/Dolan and hasnt kept any. Didnt want loans and now weve resorted to 2 including one on deadline day scrambling around for bodies.
