  1. Past hour
  2. Rowett would be an obvious candidate if nobody has come in for him and Ismael leaves. Well, he would have been if Waggott was still picking managers. With the current lot at the wheel we'd probably hire some absolute rando who'd been sacked from a Belgian second division side a few months prior.
  3. Yep, Carl Leaburn’s lad, his name was mentioned a number of times on here over the last couple of years as being the sort we needed who could have been plucked from League 1 at a small investment price. As always, missed the boat !
  4. Despite having no back up, I'm overjoyed to not have to see this clown in our strip again. The anti-forward. The defenders best mate. The jester. See ya.
  5. We aren't going to pay any fee for a manager or head coach in the form of compensation package to another club. Last 15 years will give you an idea about our new 'hiring policy': - Sacked Allardyce in December 2010 and hired Kean (internal recruitment). Relegated less than two years later. - Sacked Kean in September 2012 and hired Berg in November 2012, who had been out of work for over a year. He was in turn sacked 57 days later. - Hired Appleton in March 2013 who was on a one-year rolling contract with Blackpool. Sacked 67 days later. - Hired Bowyer (internal recruitment having been in charge of the reserve team). First as a caretaker manager after Berg and Appleton and later signed initially a one-year rolling contract in May 2013. Sacked in late 2015. - Hired Lambert in late 2015 who had been out of work for nine months since his spell at Aston Villa. Didn't even last a year as Lambert himself triggered a release clause in the contract before end of season. - Hired Coyle in June 2016 shortly after he ended his last contract by mutual consent with MLS side Houston Dynamo. Sacked by mutual consent in February 2017 after poor results which would ultimately lead to relegation to L1. - Hired Mowbray who had been out of work for five months since his spell at Coventry. Left at the end of contract having been five years at the club and getting them back to the Championship. - Appointed JDT in June 2022 who had been out of work for roughly six months after ending his contract with Malmö FF. Left by mutual consent in February 2024. - Appointed Eustace in February 2024 who was sacked four months earlier at Birmingham. Left a year later after Derby triggered his release clause. - Hired Ismaël in February 2025 who had been out of work for almost a year since being sacked by Watford. So you're either going to see an internal recruitment (Johnson? Vignal?) or someone who's been out of work for a while once Ismaël leaves.
  6. Gone for an afternoon at the races to blow his signing on bonus.
  7. I bet he's gutted about missing the English weather
  8. Just seen Jordan Slew is still playing professional football, maybe we could tempt him back
  9. Total loss pre player trading for 5 years prior to Venkys = £9 million Post player trading = £5.6 million
  10. It’s a perfect opportunity for them, given that the reporter is currently banned from the ground. A groundswell of support for the boycott, could be tied in to a theme. Ban the local paper and we come out in solidarity.
  11. Haha, both me, my girlfriend, sister and brother in law did the same for my folks, so you’ll be fine!
  12. Another FA Cup game here from 1950’s, this time away at Cardiff with Rovers taking 4000 fans. I was surprised to read 5 aeroplanes carrying 200 supporters each taking fans too! You don’t associate away travel with planes back in the day, or I don’t.
  13. Hasn’t stood out of did anything of note in league one which likely is the reason why
  14. That original post would be ideal for the LT if they had the cajones to print it - which they won't.
  15. Yeah Surprised a championship club hasn't taken him at that price, he was out of contract at the end of the season I think
  16. The original post must be the most liked post on here ever, or very close to it. Can the mods print that and all the comments off and send it recorded to Pasha Gestede and Ismael and ask them to comment on it in the local media. I know they won’t, but let’s do this and get the story out, as it is all heartfelt and it would be a shame to waste it.
  17. Today
  18. I’d persuaded some of my school team mates to come along on the strength of the 7-2 thrashing of Spurs and the thought of seeing Stanley Mathews. We’d played that morning so we’d be there in our school uniforms, probably minus school ties though. Young people today don’t realise that the modern fashion for casual and sporting clothes hadn’t been invented at that time. Nobody there would be wearing a replica shirt. Same goes for club branded clothing. It hadn’t been thought of. I was one of the first lads in Rochdale to get a pair of training shoes in about 1966. . They were a blue “ Adidas “ pair. One summer night we’d been training and after we’d got changed I kept the trainers on. We decided to go to the nearest pub for a shandy. When I walked in the pub everybody looked at me like I had two heads. That’s how things were then !
  19. Good on you. Needs more to have the guts to make this stance. I did the same about three years ago. We need these scabs out of our club
  20. Not in the least bit sad to see gueye go, I thought he looked like a footballer on his debut right up to the point he tried to strike the ball, he couldn’t shoot. Got the odd goal with his head but he wasn’t particularly good with that either
  21. that is so depressing, could have been competition for both wing back spots, and also on the wing should we switch back to a 4 man defence seems a very good price too
  22. Bali mumba signing for Huddersfield for £1 million
