That's an odd post from you Parsons to say the least.🤔 The whole organization of this event smacks of cheap,shoddy desperation....the vast majority of fans expected better tbh. Everyone to their own I suppose.

The LEAGUE match is the Anniversary game, just as the the 100th and 125th Anniversaries were League games. The Old Etonians seems to be an added extra. There is a book, just as there was for the 100th and 125th. Sorry, I just don't get the outrage over this particular point.

I did 1988/90 before moving with work to Birmingham. Wormwood Scrubs on a Sunday morning was quite the thing!

FWIW my take is that by tacking on a “celebratory match” of this dubious quality is symptomatic of the typically half-arsed efforts of the current regime who seem to know the price of everything & the value of nothing. The constant tinkering of the home kit to make it look more like a Grasshoppers or Feyenoord variant, the removal of the historic timeline outside Ewood, the shockingly bad 150th merchandise…the overwhelming sense is that nobody in charge cares enough. A match to celebrate the 150th…against a team that actually beat us in an FA Cup final…it just feels…shoddy.

For our 100th Anniversary we played a League game v Bolton. For our 125th Anniversary we played a League game v Wolves. For our 150th Anniversary we have a League game v Derby County + the Old Etonians game. Not sure why the uproar about this game when the previous two anniversary games took place without comment at the time.

It isnt a simple question. Its one 9 months in advance where in a number of positions, there is no clear stand out. Gordon's decision making often lets him down in the final third. Rashford will forever have ifs and buts surrounding him.

I thought it will a simple question to answer but clearly not. Gordon overrated? Really? Class player and shown his worth at Newcastle.. Rashford again get him on form, you have a really good player and I think the move to Barca was a smart one.

I dont know who would be at left back, a weak position. Not 100% sure at right back although James seems the strongest choice, but again, made of glass. We need a quick player wide left but not convinced by any option, Gordon is massively overrated and Rashford is not one youd want in the trenches with you. No one has proven at the top level that they are the stand out choice, I like Anderson but would still sway towards Wharton. And Stones would play if he could be relied upon but he cant, so if he isnt fit then Konsa. Bellingham, Kane, Pickford, Guehi, Rice and Saka are clear guaranteed picks.

Whole thing just reeks of unorganised chaos. As Rory said on 4000 holes pod, after Rovers game, if we win I wanna head out n go for a pint and a chat if we lose I wanna head out n go for a pint n a chat, I don't want to have to sit there for another 2 hours after potentially getting beaten. I mean I want to stay, I want to stay and celebrate but. I wanna watch the game and head out. Just utter madness
