  1. Past hour
  2. And yet some think we wouldn’t be better off with our (amazing) owners. Says it all really, doesn’t it?🙄
  3. Or he chose the wrong club to go to.
  4. The talk i saw from Stoke fans was that they would love to have him back in any capacity if possible, but there was no way on earth they could afford him "our primary target has to be replacing him with another behemoth, either permanent or on loan. Without that Phillips replacement, we're gonna leak goals like an incontinent pensioner." "Good CB and big career ahaead. Good luck to him. Seemed he cared when he was here to. Which i like." "Would love to see Phillips back next season as he was the stand out defender last season IMO. Can’t see it happening though, however would hate to see him team up with Souttar at Sheff Utd as we’d be looking on thinking of what might have been."
  5. stoke did`nt think phillips was worth putting a bid in and they usually spend in the off season, not going to be the star that was claimed is he
  6. People were talking about this lad being a generational talent before he left us. Clearly not even close.
  7. Bit of window dressing going on with this move.
  8. A brilliant performance by the Celtic fan.
  9. Today
  10. Well thankfully Rod Stewart can still sing, I was worried it could be another Diana Ross shambles. 80yrs old and rocking the place.
  11. Kaminski for the price we got Walhstedt and Toth. Nice one.
  12. LT has an interview with Fosu-Mensah, talking about looking for a new club after sitting out for a year. Pretty sure we were linked when he left Leverkusen last year, so perhaps a hint of interest? Especially if Kapuadi is going nowhere. I always rated him but his injury record is terrible, though that might mean he'd take a low wage to get back into game.
  13. I’d go with 3 but wouldn’t be surprised by 4. I’d go with 3 (I think they’re a text book example of the sunk cost fallacy) but wouldn’t be at all surprised by 4.
  14. Charlton another club been through the mire and now emerging the other side.
  15. Which is the most likely scenario for not selling and therefore carrying of funding silly amounts to keep the club afloat? 1. We want revenge for the snowball 2. it’s the only thing we haven’t succeeded at. 3. We believe we will eventually recoup our losses. 4. We are hiding something.
  16. In 2013- 2014… £6.6 million payments were made to achieve player disposals £6.2 million provision was made for onerous player contracts £3.2 million impairment of player registration values was made. That’s £16 million of losses ‘just like that’.
  17. Or also hypothetically if some who were involved in the sale process and running of the club from the very beginning managed to wangle a clause they're entitled to X amount should the club be sold on....
  18. Obviously settled down South so won't have to move far if at all. Unlike the ambitionless Venky Rovers Charlton might fancy trying to do a Luton or an Ipswich.
  19. It is. Surprised, thought he would have got a better move than that.
  20. Purely Hypothetical, but it a prospective buyer approaches the owners, and did look at the books and found liabilities still existed from 15 years ago, would that either put them off buying or put the owners off admitting to this? There is a reason they keep on saying, we are not Interested in selling and that would be more credible then their version, which seems to be, we want to get back to the premier league and make a success of this project.
  21. I think the Best deal alone cost the club about 10 million, chuck in the rest and that's another 20 million and there's way more than that lot. So it should not surprise anyone if the club is still paying off some of that dross.
  22. I would be very surprised if a lot of it is for the agents, manager and even players from the very beginning. Imagine how angry people would be, if Kean, Myles and his Dad and players, like Best, Ethuhu, Murphy and the likes were still being paid.
  23. Yeah. I'd have him back over either of our current keeprs tbh.
  24. Kaminski going to Charlton. Very good signing for them.
  25. I console myself that i don't support Sheffield Wednesday. That is a storied club about to disappear before our very eyes.
  26. Tomasz Włodarczyk reported that Legia rejected Blackburn Rovers' offer, which amounted to less than two million euros in transfer fees. Blackburn? Maybe it's even a bit too late for this question. Honestly, I don't have much to comment on here - says the defender in an interview with TVP Sport. - What is my transfer situation? I can't say anything special. I'm in Legia and I try to enjoy every moment of my life. I can confirm that I received an offer of a new contract from Legia. Everything is possible. I've been playing in Warsaw for two seasons and I'm enjoying this time. The subject is open. Steve Kapuadi joined Legia in the summer of 2023 from Wisła Płock. So far, he has played 78 matches for the club and scored 6 goals.
  27. Seems the remit was buy a development player for a few hundred grand every window and just pray they click sooner or later. I assume there'll be add ons if he started kicking a ball for us regularly but they've realised pretty soon he's miles off it so have punted him out again. Very much looks like he was just another box ticking signing.
