Well tbh its what you expect at a world cup to have to play at least 3 top teams. England have been very fortunate in recent tournament draws. Great opportunity to improve our appalling record at major tournaments against the top 10 or so sides. Think if you go back 30 years we've managed to beat those sides 5 times (Spain & Netherlands in 96, Germany 2000, Germany in 2021, Netherlands in 2024) In that time we have managed to lose to the top sides 10 times (Germany x2, Argentina, Brazil, Italyx2, Spain, Portugal x3)

I think we'll have too much for Pompey tomorrow. We look a different team altogether on the road. Baradji is just getting into his stride and if he's paired with Tronstad, I can see us dominating the midfield. Even if he's on the bench, Tronstad and TGH are a good enough pair for tomorrow afternoon. Morishita, Cantwell, Ohashi. There's plenty for Pompey to worry about, I'd say. There's talk about their vociferous crowd from some of the fans and from Val too. They do have good support, true. Their team isn't much cop though. I've seen a post via the x page of kidderstnoise suggesting ticket holders for this (presumably if you didn't then take a half price ticket for the rearranged game) are entitled to a 40% refund as per the efl policy. I've emailed the club who state that's not the case, has anyone had any success with this?
