  1. Past hour
  2. Yes i'm all for protecting the assets but they jumped the gun there based more on the hype than anything, he obviously looked good in training but had about half a dozen good first team performances to his name. Can only assume it was on modest money and that's why he's still here.
  3. He did play at Accrington for 45 minutes in pre season and went off injured (I saw him post match in a protective boot - really over the top). He scored in the first game against Derby after coming on as a substitute and started against Stockport scoring twice. In both appearances he was the fully committed player he always was. To compare him to Gestede is totally unfair in my view.
  4. Just because he hasn't yet doesn't mean he won't do as long as it's on the table.
  5. Think it was utter lunacy to hand him that contract - his form and abilities never warranted it. Posted almost a fortnight ago that I'd heard Rovers keen on Ryan Cooney (right back and God help us) and Ricky Jade Jones (striker). Think we all know what happens when a player has an alternative move.
  6. Refusing to play in the hope of forcing a move - it's probably not unusual. but I have to say I find his admission selfish and appalling. Rovers were paying his wages and he's effectively gone on a one-man strike. - I wonder how the rest of the squad felt. There was no reason why he could not have trained as usual for the start of the new season while talks between the clubs went on in the background So yes, he's in the same bracket as Gestede and no doubt many others who behaved similarly - and he's gone down in my estimation. If he's still at Ipswich he should be getting a (not so) warm reception at Ewood next season
  7. Plymouth have appointed Tom Cleverley. Their fans seem overall extremely happy with the appointment. Seems like a good opportunity for Cleverley to prove himself, and potentially get back into the Championship as a manager.
  8. Aren't quotes normally cleaned up a bit in articles to read in an easier fashion? That article is more like reading a stream of consciousness. Anyway, whatever. He played in competitive matches and continued to be our best player until he was sold.
  9. Chaddy liked this post, unironically it would seem.
  10. At least he refused to play for the team whilst off the pitch, rather than Brereton Diaz who refused to play for 6 months whilst on the pitch.
  11. The support for the side was huge in the Sven era too, and he achieved bugger all. Just think of the atmosphere around the country for the Japan WC and Euro 2004 when Rooney burst on the scene.
  12. no. He scored in both games he played in and his performances was still very good and no dropped off in standards or work rate
  13. Is Southgate a failure cos he didn't win an international tournament with England? Not at all, he was huge success and brought the national pride and support for England team back to the level we witness in Euro 96. People might want to say he was lucky with the draws but he produced our best tournament results since 1966 and that people can't take it away from him and the players their achievements
  14. He was grafting his arse off in a first round Carabao Cup tie days before getting sold (cup-tieing himself in the process.) No complaints from me.
  15. Not really no.Szmodic refused to play in pre season, he took part when the league kicked off again.
  16. We’ll sell c8,750, they’ll sell c11,000, but revenue wise it will probably be similar. So shrugged shoulders all round from the powers that be at Ewood.
  17. Today
  18. Think we all knew this, don’t know why he had to come out and talk about it though
  19. Frightening yes, but completely inevitable as a direct result of decisions and steps taken by the ownership and their regime. There are consequences to everything in life. Yet I still get the impression there are people employed down there who genuinely don't understand this and think that they can just rely on and take for granted that people will just hand over their hard earned cash without question every year whilst this lot take the piss out of them. A look at the Ewood seat planner suggests breaking point has been passed for quite a few.
  20. lets see who we gets in first, who and what qualities they have. some people are waiting till we don't make every signing before pre season and then they can say told you so and I was right and others were wrong. Batth hasn't sign for Derby yet and if they were offering a 2 year contract he would be sign up there.
  21. So Szmodics admits he refused to play for the team to force through move to Ipswich Does this put him on the same level as Gestede then, or is all forgiven? https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25239630.sam-szmodics-blackburn-rovers-exit-ipswich-transfer/
  22. er yeah,ok,if we sign 7 players in the next fortnight,i`ll handglide off the blackburn end roof using a binliner
  23. A tag from Chaddy? Mum..Dad...I've made it.
  24. Buckley in the last 2 years he hasn't develop and he has backwards in terms of playing time and influence on the games. @BankEnd Rover is right on when Buckley starting going backwards
  25. i really thought he`d be picked up by a mid table championship side.i.e us,preston, stoke etc
  26. We wanted 6 or 7 according to Ismael although that was presumably before we knew that Batth and Weimann were not staying. So up to 9. So I expect 7 signings in the next 2 weeks with Ismael wanting 90% in by pre season and considering his full alignment with Gestede, should be a cert.
