  1. Past hour
  2. I get not liking a kit or kits but to completely ignore how subjective their appeal is and to call for heads to roll is laughable, sorry. The home strip looks cheap and uninspiring, but I think the away and third are gorgeous.
  3. Think Mcloughlin is a solid replacement for Batth. Similar players but younger and more mobile. Still think we need one more center back considering Carter’s become injury prone and Wharton only just returning. I hope we bring another on, more likely a loan or a foreign import.
  4. A deal has to be done for Brittain with either Middlesbrough or Derby. Think his heart is no longer with Rovers now and doubtful it will be again. No doubt sales' proceeds will just finance the 3/4 deals so far with any residual trousered.
  5. I don't disagree, but I think it's just a very average quartet at this level (presuming they all keep fit). What Eustace did well was develop a shape with two midfielders who were well capable of protecting the space in front of the defence. The shape of the team was a contributing factor almost as much as the players. In JDT's final season, Wharton, Carter, Hyam were fit and partnered together for the vast majority of the season and conceded the 3rd-most goals in the league (74)
  6. Queen - Seven Seas Of Rhye
  7. Only concern is that Carter can't stay fit and Wharton will take a lot of time to get match ready again. Think young Atcheson will be appearing on the bench quite a bit, especially early doors.
  8. On the young players, of course the better ones should be in the squad. If you think they are good enough now, or will become good enough over the next season or two with experience, then they should be included. This is why the re-signing of Forshaw was bizarre unless we are expecting more departures. That does block their pathway, especially if Montgomery is seen as any good. Experience isn't really relevant when Trosntadt has played almost as many senior games and Travis isn't too far behind. They were the experienced pro's.
  9. Before he left at least he was a better defender than Brittain. We'd need a good RW but we need one of those anyway with Dolan leaving. Incidentally I noted a site online estimating Nyambe was on 4k p.w. when he was here. No wonder he was desperate to leave. I'd imagine Dolan was on something similar, maybe adjusted upwards slightly for inflation.
  10. Any news on when the meeting notes will be available?
  11. I was about to say, I thought we were supposed to be commemorating 150 years of Blackburn Rovers, not 150 years of the Borough of Blackburn with Darwen…. Suppose it’s telling that they are steering clear of celebrating the actual football club they’ve completely fucked over.
  12. Nyambe was a useful one on one defender. However offered very little going forwards, and has had recurring injury issues. 3 separate injuries restricted him to just 17 league games last season. In fact, in the 2 years he has spent at Derby, he has played in only 40 games in all competitions, so he has genuinely missed more games than he has played
  13. Wharton wasn't good enough before he got injured IMO... Now he's been out for over a season I can't imagine he'll be coming back an improved player.
  14. Today
  15. Also, it's a football kit, I dont want a pictorial representation of the town on it, but if they had decided that images were essential they should have related to our footballing history, Bob Crompton, Clayton and Duggie, Faz, Simon Garner, Tony Parkes, Jack, Kenny, Shearer etc. Not Darwen Tower and the fucking Wainwright Bridge. They really couldn't have got it more wrong if they'd tried.
  16. Cheer Mark, sounded great.
  17. A centre back with pace and power is still needed. Fairly certain Ismael will want that but it will cost you more than Β£500k.
  18. Think with the hull lad coming in the four centre back options of Wharton, Hyam, Carter and McLoughlin have plenty of Championship experience and are a decent mix.
  19. Unless he's regressed massively he's far quicker than Brittain and a much better one-on-one defender. Nowhere near the attacker though.
  20. We will need to replace Brittain's crossing ability, so whoever comes in needs to either be very good technically or extremely quick instead. Nyambe is neither, and is a downgrade.
  21. Not for me. Loved him when he was here but his weaknesses are too limiting.
  22. In a normal year the home kit would have been OK apart from the changed halves but the lack of reference to the Anniversary is an absolute disgrace. The Green and yellowish kits are absolutely hideous. No proper badge on either, they might as well be cheap imitation knock offs. I completely disagree with the poster above - along with the pink kit last year these are 3 of the worst kits we've ever had. Macron/whoever is picking them need sacking off. Sorry if it sounds like I'm picking on the FF again but did they get chance to pass comment on this year's kits?
