I seem to recall the last time we played in Melbourne it was much the same? We were bowled out for around 70 and lost the test in 3 days. Its clearly not a wicket that should be anywhere near a test match.

Leagues ahead is some overstatement. Alebiosu is decent, no doubts. Brittain is much better in regards to technical ability, Alebiosu looks almost clumsy but still gets past his man and has a knack of digging out a cross when it looks like he shouldn't be able to. Chaddy, that pitch is a bowlers paradise. It doesn't favour either batting side, nor does it help Test cricket. If the pitch gets anything better than a "poor" rating, then I'd be dissapointed

I think our league position tells you everything you need to know about the summer window. The idea that the majority of our signings have been good and only a couple didn't work out doesn't really align with our swift downward trajectory from playoff hopefuls to survival hopefuls.

The county game needs massive reform and reorganise. Less games, better pitches and playing at the right time. Who are the better batsmen then already in the team? The top 3 batsmen in Division 1 are players who have played test cricket and failed. Do we go back to them?.

He’s still the best centre half I’ve ever seen in the flesh. When the Rothmans Football Annual published their best British 11 Mike was in it at centre half for several years and that was at the tail end of his career. He had it all ability wise. For a tall guy he had incredible leap. Not many tall guys jump very well. I still think his best days were at Rovers, when he went to Spurs they reigned in his attacking instincts.
