The referee saw it in real time at normal speed and (correctly imo) awarded a yellow. It wasn't a "clear and obvious" error and VAR shouldn't have intervened. They aren't supposed to be re-refereeing the game.

A very fair summary imo. Given how much running these players were doing from minute one, I wasn't surprised about the fatigue later into the game, as we dropped back. I think there is a concern that our opponents generally seem stronger with their fresh legs, while our own substitutions often appear to weaken us. Partly injuries and partly these transfer windows that weaken a manager's hand ( even if he does collude.)
