Understand, however unearthing one gem from an unknown league and supporting them to adapt and fit in to our squad is one thing, we are buying a few players with no championship experience and likely they will be our starter's going forward, high risk and I think we may be doomed -

Unfortunately that cunning plan will involve shipping out any proven quality and/or experience we have because of their "unrealistic wage demands", and replacing them with young players from overseas who will cost half the amount. Of course this doesn't necessarily mean that they will be worse, but it is certainly a distinct possibility that they will be. The whole "project", resembles the downgrading that Huddersfield performed a couple fo years ago that lead to them being relegated to League 1 where they didn't even manage to finish in the play offs If Rovers are not in trouble this season, then both the coaching and especially recruitment teams will have worked a miracle -

This sudden new narrative about us unexpectedly and unluckily being "in transition" is absolute rubbish. It's always been claimed since VI arrived that the aim was to add more pace and power to the squad so there's nothing new there and RG also said during the car crash interviews that the number of players out of contract was an exciting opportunity to reshape the squad so again the possibility that players might not be extending their stays has been known for some time. Looks like the recruitment/retention of staff hasnt been going as well as expected and they're starting to panic a bit. -

It’s a write off statement to say “wait till you’ve seen them in action”, and there are lists of obscure European (and further afield) players we, and others have signed over the years that have been great. That doesn’t mean it’s not a risk btw, I’d agree with that but I still think there’s potential in the approach. Tronstad and Ohashi - both very good recent examples of signings for peanuts. Whilst I’m sure people can say they have different pedigrees, some players just work with managers, systems etc. That Dack (thought it was relevant because he’d mainly played 3rd/4th tier when we signed him) article I read earlier summed up his form for rovers, his love for Mowbray and the way he was paired with Danny Graham played a big part in his (and our) success. -

Hang on, that clause in the regulation is saying he will receive the higher of the points he is eligible for, not that he will receive both sets of points he is eligible for in table 2. So it isn't 12 plus 4, it's just 12. Am I missing something? Is the 12 for league quality and the 4 is for actual minutes played, so they're in two different tables? -

Eustace seemed like an arm around your shoulder man manager. His falling out with the hierarchy was obvious, maybe he created an us vs the big wigs mentality within the team. Then when he left and they brought in a manager who seems the complete opposite, it's likely those that had expiring contracts thought I'd rather not be managed by him, I'd rather move on, hence the eagerness to go to Derby with him. This happens at organisations all the time, team loves the manager, together they hate the hierarchy, manager leaves and many of the team are eager to go to his new job with him. The fact that they were so close to the play offs and missed out, probably helped in justifying their love for Eustace and dislike for those above him. It's possible Eustace is stubborn and wants everything his way and that Birmingham saw that and sacked him. It may explain why he was prematurely sacked. It would also explain why he left us so high up for a team so low down. So yes we are a mess, but its quite possible the above is a big part of why none of those with expiring contracts want to accept a new contract. Not saying it's definitely the above, but it's plausible it's part of the reason. -

Very true. And there's me waiting for the '20 million a season line to change to can't put 20 million a season in anymore due to being under investigation by the Indian govt ! Wonder why the commentators could always slip one in but no mention of the other.... -

The amount of money Venkys have chucked at the running costs has continually deflected them from being singled out in recent times by media etc although it's still generally acknowledged in football they are shite owners. What really puzzles me is when we do regularly make the headlines for some latest nonsense why don't the media and the authorities take a closer look. Ask the real questions of just why this continues and what are they doing it for especially with all the recent stuff thats come to light. There are a few rotten ownerships around but on a consistent level for 15v years now these lot take some beating it's like they've just put the club and fanbase in an induced coma and are determined to keep it there whatever the cost. We are an absolute shell. -

And they've not even fronted the cash to pay their own bills the last two years - it's been player sales. Plus it sounds like they're holding that £147m 'debt' over our head - a loan they can call in at any time and completely sink the club. -

Only that i saw someone from Bristol on X a few weeks ago saying Dolan had been shown around the training ground. Seems like half the teams fans in the Championship are claiming he's signing for them but it could just be agent tittle tattle trying to drum up interest. Just think the fact that Bristol City is a bit left field and was never mentioned anywhere else it might actually have legs, if they pay well they'll be in with a shout certainly.

This is not the Blackburn Rovers I grew up with and was proud to support. Not a pot to piss in during the 70s/80s but always pro active with the fanbase and happy to welcome you into Ewood. The bond with the Township was strong and solid, unbreakable. Now just a cold, distant, vacant shell that I barely recognise..Just horrible what is unfolding before our Eyes. Every day that passes I simply hate these Owners more and more.
