  1. Past hour
  2. Agreed. Seven transfers in a brief period of time, now, we are starting to see some good fruit. It’s still early, but I don’t see the team stink it up this season or get relegated. Perhaps hold down its current place on the table. Maybe better. Let’s see what happens when the waves of injuries hit- it always happens.
  3. Was it the use of the word shite? 🙂
  4. Watford eyeing hyam - according to Nixon.
  5. Agreed. Perhaps realised that his mate is going and not much he can do about it so better just get on with it? Body language much better. Needs must I guess for a pro. Shop window too for next year?
  6. Just come back from next doors watching Leeds (he's a Leeds fan, from Portsmouth) I bought the beer, he bought the Chinese takeaway delivery, I got the best deal watching him cringe 😁
  7. Here's a thought. We get into playoffs but don't go up. What's wrong with the project, we nearly did it. On no money. Pasha and Gestede are great. Let's continue the project. What are you all moaning about. I'm shivering.
  8. Games like today make you realise why you still keep doing away games every other week. This was a superb performance, a real team effort with everyone making a contribution. For the first time this season we started on the front foot and with a high press and what a difference it makes. The new players are slowly bedding in and doubts I had about Alebiosu and Tavares were swept aside today. Both looked very comfortable at this level. McLoughlin looks a very good signing, younger than Batth but just as good in the centre of defence. He looks a real bargain. I must admit I had my doubts about Cantwell as a captain, but he rose to the occasion and gave his best display so far for the club. He was unplayable at times today and took his goal very well. Hedges showed why Ismael continues pick him. He worked hard throughout, scored a goal with an exquisite finish and played an important part in the second. The bonus was the return to form of Tronstad. He was simply outstanding from first to last and completely bossed the midfield, particularly in the second-half when Rovers took complete control of the game. We still need to strengthen, although I was pleased that Montgomery put the Bradford game behind him and looked the part when he came on in centre-midfield - his proper position. One or two more performances like this and I might start revising my view of a bottom half finish.
  9. I just have to applaud your grasp of the English language. Thanks!
  10. Time will tell, won’t it. If it’s the making of him then fantastic.. but there’s a reason why a quality footballer (in his peak years) like him is here as he’s had a few false dawns in his career.
  11. And so... a great win, all agreed (and I do too.) And so, not missing any of the outgoings, incomings an improvement, all an upgrade, all pulling in the right direction. Er, ok, can I get back to you?
  12. You're the one completely missing the point. Cantwell was absolutely shite last season and was also frequently unavailable through various alleged called minor injuries. Today he showed what a quality player he is and what he is capable of when he puts his mind to it. We need to see that version of Cantwell every week not the lily livered half arsed version we saw last season. Strange how quickly opinions on players change, when he was mysteriously absent v West Brom everyone assumed he was on his way and at that point hardly anyone was shedding a tear. He was even shite against Bradford. Now one good game and one exceptional one and he's the greatest player in the world. Im actually one of those guilty of quickly changing camps. Im really looking forward to seeing what he can do this season IF he can keep that up.
  13. Knowing this lot they'll probably try to cash in on him in the next week or so...
  14. I’m with dallyduncan (I think it was that poster) and was going to post as such before the game (honest) ie. classic Rovers –logic suggests a struggle away, but we give them a tonking. Amusing really. These boards were in full blown pessimism of late (and not without reason). Hedges? Shite. Kargbo? Head down, shite. Montgomery? Shite. Tavares? A bit shite, can’t go a full game. Cantwell? Shite, show pony, flatters to deceive. And up we pop today, classic Rovers, they all click and play to their full potential. Long season. Pessimists and optimists will have their days. But no mistaking the shite at the top. Most agree there (although some ignore it and are happy to espouse the club orthodoxy). For the record, I’m sure you realise, I’m of the pessimistic slant. You’ve gotta love today but really just a plaster on gangrene. I get it that some can focus on what goes on at matchday and screen out shall we say political machinations (and I can do that too). But the canker is always there for me, always taking the gloss off. Apologies for such churlishness and I certainly don’t underestimate the effort of the lads on the pitch.
  15. Just had a feeling about today. We managed a week of somewhat drama free at Ewood aside from Travis not being around the building. Players appear to be pulling in the right direction which can only be a good thing. A few people saying Hull were bad but I think we made them look bad, the constant harassing and closing down led to mistakes from Hull as they just didn’t get the time to play. New signings are settling well. I am impressed with Alebiosu gives you the directness you want from a modern day right back although defence work needs just a touch of work. Sidnei looks very calm and composed which is what we have lacked in the middle for a long time. Travis was too headless chicken like and limited what he can do with a football, Sidnei so far looks like he is going to be an upgrade. All in all a very good day, bring on Norwich 🔵⚪️
  16. EI about 4.5 hours ago. There's the Ryan Hedges we know. Hendrikson laid it on a plate for him - that's an impressive miss.
  17. Way to miss the point. Both have/had long hair and wore hair bands. One has been criticised for it, the other hasn't. ROFL.
  18. Yeah because there's been absolutely no difference between Tugay and Cantwell in his time here, the last couple of games excepted. ROFL.
  19. Winning 3-0 is brilliant, it was a fabulous team performance overall....but we are still allowed to call out poor pieces of play where players should've done better...it's ok to do that y'know, we are allowed. Go back through the match thread and I'm sure you'll find PLENTY of it even when the score was at 3-0. The 'having an agenda' against Gueye take was just....odd to me. Want nothing more than all Rovers players to be a success.
  20. But, in fairness, he stood out today, as being quite awful..
  21. Completely agree - even when the output wasn't coming off for him, he's always worked really hard whilst he's been here. I suspect some have preconceived ideas/opinions of TC, based on what they've read from Rangers fans / etc. I even read a derogatory comment on here the other day about him wearing a hairband. Like it ever mattered when Tugay wore one.
  22. Today
  23. No one actually cares. You could always start a counter chant for kier starmer if it bothers you so much. They can chant for whoever they wish. What about the days of ‘oh Jeremy Corbyn etc’ Either way its very tiresome
  24. One thing i have always said on here is that I dont think you can question Cantwells work rate. I think he leaves it all out there, sometimes everything he tries doesnt come off and he might drift in and out of games from a creative point of view. Often think its a lazy criticism to point out his work rate because he's classed as a "luxury" player. He has lead from the front and by example the last two games. Whether he is the sort of character to do that when we're in December/January and we have Saturday/Tuesday away games I'm not sure, but his work rate isnt and never has been in question for me.
  25. Brittain is a better footballer, technically. Alebiosu is a much better athlete. In this league of cloggers the better athlete usually wins out.
