  1. Past hour
  2. 210mm I may go to the Club Shop (it is normally shut when I am able to go) and buy an item and ask (pay for) for a plastic bag larger than A4. That should be interesting. Seriously though this is pathetic from the Club. They are the experts in pissing off fans.
  3. Not sure how people are against this one really. Looks a solid deal at £2m (we got £1m for JRC and Buckley remember!) He scored 1 in 2 in the Danish league. Ipswich just spent £17.5m on a striker whose scored 1 in 4 in that league. Played in the Conference League, scored 9 goals for his country, who are hardly Brazil. Top scorer for Madrid youth team and made the first team squad for Champions League. His 5 goals last season for Gent came from only 16 starts (his minutes work out as 13 matches). If he banged in 20+ at Gent he’d be going for £50m+ to a Newcastle type (they’re paying about £5m a goal for this Woltemade lad).
  4. For me it’s quite simple-you don’t overhaul a whole squad with the roll of the dice without tested Championship players being part of core changes. To say we are going into the unknown is an understatement l-exiting maybe. Theres excitement and there’s completely unknown! For me there’s too much sweeping changes and not just players but club staff and that sets alarm bells. Those that had any affiliation Rovers and could questions behind the scenes issues aren’t there. Who would now question the hierarchy. Too many factors that aren’t being questioned for my liking but maybe im in the minority!
  5. Well in terms of the numbers of players signed this window has truly surpassed what I thought we could feasibly do in a summer. Too early to say if theyre good players but we've bought the right positions anyway. Maybe one more midfielder to round things off.
  6. I’m getting a bit frustrated with the ‘you can’t see the bigger picture’ type posts. We all know the owners are terrible, we all know things aren’t rosy behind the scenes - just because a post suggests they may be excited or intrigued, doesn’t mean that everything else is forgotten. I love this football club but after a crap week at work, it’s nice to look forward to matchday and cling on to a bit of optimism about some transfers. I’m not going to caveat every slightly positive post with ‘but I know the owners are crap’ or ‘we haven’t invested anywhere near what we have brought in’. I know that, we all know that, and me adding it to a post won’t do anything and will just drive me insane. We are in the situation we are in and unfortunately that doesn’t look like changing any time soon; that might be apathy, who knows 🤷‍♀️
  7. Eddie, I’m not really disagreeing with your post above. I’m not keen on revisionism –this stuff about the old playing guard (and managers) were never going to take us anywhere. I just think that is harsh. They needed backing. On the new excitement –I get it: you just knew previously we wouldn’t make it, but we also knew that it wasn’t entirely down to the lads on the pitch –shenanigans off the pitch were responsible. I don’t like the idea that the new plan is a footballing masterstroke –it is financially driven. I don’t like the idea that if we don’t get in the top 6/promotion, then it doesn’t matter because you have to give the new plan time or it’s not fair to judge after one season (how long before we judge?) – that would just be as you say same old but on a slimmer budget and workforce and with Pasha more firmly in control. Ultimately, what is it that will rid us of these owners? I don’t think we will get promotion with this new model (there’s a stick to beat me with if it happens). So that means same old but with higher turnover of players (agents lovely jubbly). I know some would take relegation if it got rid of the owners. On the new sense of excitement. I get that too. I will certainly be going to the game with a sense of intrigue and interest. On a match to match basis, we all like to see exciting football, wins, goals etc.
  8. Looking forward to today's match which is usually a bad sign.
  9. Have I just seen Finn Azaz has been signed by Southampton for £15m, yes 15 million great british pounds, whilst Ipswich have signed a lad for £17.5m who has only played in the Danish league (worst record than Gudjohnsons lad there too). How much did we sell Adam Wharton for again?
  10. Bit harsh on Danny Graham haha.
  11. U18s are away to Man City, 11am kick off score/update I think that is Chris Sambas kids starting for City

  13. Diaz would actually suit Eustace's style i think so if he signs hopefully big Ryan punts him into touch early when we meet. Ben will disappear then.
  14. It's pay on the day Decent place to park as by the time you walk up to it after the match you get a clear run to the motorway Also has a good beer garden for a drink before game
  15. Yeah I dont think they are a "bit naff". Its hard to know how to read into his Iceland stats because aside from Turkey, his goals predominantly come against countries ranging from poor to out and out minnows. But then again, he plays for a poor country. He scored an excellent finish against Scotland. His goal record in Denmark is pretty good to be fair. Although it was one season and followed by one when he failed to make the step up into the Belgian league. But again, it doesnt seem like he was a guaranteed starter I dont think his record overall is overly encouraging, the signing definitely strikes me as a punt, which is the market especially with a striker that we are entering at this level of fee. I would rather have someone like this than no one at all, which is what I feared would happen, especially as we only have 1 striker capable at this level. He is only quite young too, so hopefully he can really push on now, assuming he joins.
  16. From this Scout Report I would say he's exactly what we've been missing for years. Maybe even since Rhodes left
  17. Think you're being a bit harsh on his record for Iceland and in Denmark. It's true I can't say they're 'brilliant' as such, but your choice of words seems to imply they're a bit naff. Perhaps it's not meant to come across that way. But his record in Denmark is almost a goal every 2 games. Which suggests a 20+ goal return over a 46 game season, which is very good. His record for Iceland would translate to about 12 goals a season, which is still fairly solid and what, 3 goals better than any of our players did last season?
  18. I'm not sure I'd agree the Championship is a step lower than the Belgian league. It has some clubs that are better than Championship level, but a few clubs that would likely be more like League One standard.
  19. Hey mister, al watch yer motor for a pound!!
  20. Things could have got better if managers had been backed and then you would have had your sense of hope and entertainment. Those players you mention were taking us to that promotion push, just needed backing. Things did seem to be getting better under JDT (entertaining too) but matters off the pitch put paid to that. Agreed, that it is going to be fun (at least initially) but not so sure that if it doesn't work, we will be in just the same position as previously. Fewer assets to sell off?
  21. That name change to Derby Rovers is pending.
  22. It's important to understand that the step up from the Danish league to Belgian league is quite big. He'll of gained good experience for the championship which is probably a step lower so hopefully he will perform. What he's achieved at his age is pretty impressive.
  23. Today
  24. I was never comfortable with his attitude to be honest and that's what i mean by not wanting another like that but i know nowt about this guy to be fair. Of course if they are scoring and their confidence is high then nobody cares about attitude the arrogance is working for you. When it's backs to the wall as it often is and those lesser players around you are having a tough time then the onus is on to step it up and lead by example. The Siggy types, fit or not, don't do that.
  25. Siggy just clearly couldn't handle the physical side of the English game, this lad looks more of a unit though so fingers crossed. Im thinking he'll be like Gueye but with brains and better technique. I also wouldn't be suprised to see Leonard and Gueye leave before the window shuts now and another forward come in Personally id be sad to see Gueye leave though, I think he's a great option to have on the bench(in the squad) But feel he's probably on too high a wage to just be a bench warmer
