  1. Past hour
  2. Well you've been generous with that Tavares transfer, so why ignore that Brittain was rumoured to be going for £3.5m? Also why do we have to literally balance the books? We haven't spent any money for absolutely years.
  3. Fair question but if he hasn't it then begs the question if he's not in their long term plans, why not cash in?
  4. You forgot Dennis. Entirely understandable though.
  5. If you count wages saved for Woodrow; for completeness…ACD, Beck, Dennis, Sanderson…
  6. That's how I see it. If Arsenal get anywhere near £2mil for the lad he'll be gone.
  7. We didn’t even get a free kick if my memory serves me well.
  8. “Sister fisters” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Literally just spat my brew out laughing at that! 🤣
  9. Did you write this after Ismael's comments?
  10. So, revising, and given all kinds of variables: All the following based on transfermarket (yes I know) and all subject to other factors: In Sidnei Tavares 23 –midfield –Portugal euros 2m Lewis Miller 24 - right back –Hibs (Australian) euros 860k Dion de Neve 24-midfiled –euros 759k Ryan Alebiousu 23 right back – euros 576k Sean McLoughlin-28-centre back-Hull euros 575k Axel Henriksson – 23- euros 860k Total expenditure = Euros 5.63m (£4,906,290) Out Joe Rankin Costello 25 charlton euros 870k Tyrhys Dolan 23 espanyol –free (wages saved)? Andreas Weimann 33 derby free (wages saved)? Danny Baath 34 derby free (wages saved)? Callum brittain 27 Middlesborough ??? Jordan eastham 23 free (wages saved)? Cauley Woodrow end of loan (wages saved?) Euros 870k plus whatever Brittain brought in (shall we be generous and say euros 3m?) Total income = euros 3, 870,000 So we need at least euros 1,760,000 for evens If Baradji is to come in, say euros 2 mill? Then we need euros 3,760,000 Therefore, some outgoings required. Trav, Pears, Buckley? Netting say (be generous) euros 4m. And voila a tiny surplus for some light bulbs. (Not factored in all sorts obviously eg. SWAGs salary, reduced player wages…)
  11. With a huge boost to his pay packet to boot. 1 year with the classic 12 month option.
  12. I can’t stand any of them. One of the worst trends on social media in recent times.
  13. As we start to look towards loans, spent a bit of time reading through Brighton & Liverpool’s fans forum to see who they were predicting to go out on loan given our history of loaning their players. Abdallah Sima - (linked with Norwich loan) is one likely to head out and although listed as a left winger, he is right footed and can play centrally or on the right and has a pretty good eye for goal. Jayden Danns - Fairly injury prone and didn’t feature at all on loan at Sunderland because of injury. LFC fans feel he needs a full season in the championship to develop. Both could add that goalscorer we badly missed last season. Just a few names to consider.
  14. I think the exact opposite, I think they're extremely tacky and cringe. Appeals to a different generation I guess.
  15. Is it just me or does anyone else like these player announcement videos? I think they’re really classy… unlike the sister fisters down the road.
  16. That's a good question -what are the club's top 5 priorities?
  17. Suspect one of the other midfielders already here will be a direct replacement for Travis when he goes as well. Otherwise agree.
  18. I think there is an expectation from the management team that Cantwell steps up his goals tally this year, add to that Kargbo and the new lad I would wager that is where the Weimmann/Dolan goals are expected to come from. Not saying I agree that it should be considered a like for like swap but that's the way I see it at present.
  19. Didn't he only sign a 1 year deal though?
  20. Yeah I agree with this. No club has a god given right to top flight football or any type of success, but if you trust the people at the top are doing their very best then you can accept when you fall short. I think Steve Gibson is the best example of this at Middlesbrough. He must have been there about 30 years now. They've spent most of that time bouncing between the top and second division, they've won a cup and played in a European final. The last few seasons they have been bang average, mediocre. But fans aren't protesting and booing him, because they know he loves the club and will do whatever he can to at least try and bring success.
  21. Miller and Henriksson definitely appear to be better signings than the ones that have come in earlier in the summer. Just a shame Miller is a direct replacement for someone and not actually an attempt to build on and improve the squad. Pleasantly surprised that Henriksson has a decent length of contract.
  22. A striker is actually critical. Ohashi is good, will get goals as will Gueye but not as many but we need more. If one is injured, we're in big trouble.
