  1. Past hour
  2. I seem to remember a night match at Ewood when the crowd was calling for the introduction of wee winger Johnny Price to give us some width and balls into the box - Johnny was introduced but our 6 feet 4 inches centre forward (John O'Mara) was taken off!
  3. Not BS at all. Pasha, Gestede, Owen all have the same connections to people that have been running the club down for 15 years. There is nobody at the club who actually cares about Blackburn Rovers FC. All decisions are taken for the benefit of others.
  4. Two of our released U21s have now found new teams sin the National League North (6th tier) Lewis Bell moved to Marine after a loan spell there last season Rhys Doherty is now at Kings Lynn Town
  5. "I don't necessarily pick the best players, I pick the best team," Alf's words when Jack questioned Alf over his inclusion in the 1966 World Cup squad.
  6. Probably one of the must gutting bits of news since Szmodic left. Brittain was an intrinsic part to the team just others don't follow suit now.
  7. Initial Gueye reaction is oh no followed by we have just signed a guy with a long throw and we are selling the guy whose head will be aimed for... Then realisation Gueye won't be starting unless Ohashi is injured. There is no doubt Gueye is a cult figure who has bonded incredibly well but let's see what the offer is.
  8. I don't agree there's a deliberate plan to get us relegated. There's no plan of any kind but to continue to exist for some reason without any end point in mine. They simply don't care.
  9. Never seen so much interest in the minutes on here πŸ‘
  10. We desperately need strikers in, not to sell them. Selling Ohashi or Gueye would be worse than selling Travis or Tronstad for me, at least we have plenty of options in midfield. If we did let either go, given the fact we're threadbare up top to begin with, it could only be construed as a deliberate attempt to make sure we are relegated imo.
  11. Perhaps waiting for the minutes is part of Gestedes exciting summer ?
  12. Today
  13. Gueye is the player imo in the squad who could do an Armstrong/BBD/Szmodics and have a really exceptional season. He has all the ingredients, totally unplayable on his day. I would really want to keep him. That said... UAE clubs do need to sign quite a lot of random smaller players to make up the numbers with big money players, they will be offering a higher wage also with zero tax. He may speak arabic too coming from Senegal. Sort of feels plausible to me.
  14. Sometimes it doesn't even need "decent cash" to be on offer
  15. Just a regular reminder - decisions are not being made for the betterment of Rovers, the squad or with footballing considerations in mind. Decisions are made based on savings and unlocking £££ and nothing else comes into it. If decent cash is on the table for anyone they will be sold, if that ruins our squad and season so be it.
  16. The time is right the day after the meeting rather than a month down the line…
  17. It just beggars belief we would even contemplate selling Gueye a week before the season starts. If he goes it’s got nothing to do with improving the team and is simply more money into the black hole. We have already removed our 2nd and 3rd top scorers from last season without replacement. We know nobody else in the squad will contribute much as they have been here long enough. Is Hedges going to bag 10 goals and 10 assists? Travis? Tronstad? De Neive or Kargbo have no record of either. Brittain was our only crosser of a ball and now he’s going. The only person who has potential to contribute more in goals and assists is Cantwell. Unless the plan is to 0-0 our way to survival then we need to get some attackers in ASAP not sell any.
  18. 'We're selling ole,ole,ole,selling ole,ole,ole..selling again,selling again,selling ole,ole,ole'!!!
  19. There could be other people in the shadows, who could benefit from his sale, especially to a Saudi club who would pay an over the top fee. Probably bull shit but never say never at Ewood!
  20. Not if he's told from above that we owe future instalments and don't want to or can't pay them.
  21. If we are talking Β£800k for him and he goes, it can only be because Ismael doesn't want him in the squad. We'd be selling at a loss.
  22. The initial fee quoted for Gueye when this BS first came out was c800k. Nobody is paying millions for him so there is no point whatsoever selling but this is skint Rovers where the budget gets cut summer on summer and what happened last year has little bearing on this. So anything could happen.
  23. For me, having a plan B is a means of changing the way a team is playing, during a game that isn't going your way. Gueye is ideal for this. It does not mean that Gueye is a replacement for Yuki if he is not available. What we need is a similar player to Yuki for when Yuki is not available, and keep Gueye for the plan B tactic. Ideally we get a better player than Yuki, and Yuki becomes the back-up, with Gueye the plan B ( I doubt very much that the last bit will happen ).
