  1. Past hour
  2. Low and behold there is NO reference to White Shirts being our first kit in the Annivesary book..just OUR famous Blue n White Halves. What a Cock up.
  3. I’d initially heard it could be a long-term setback, so it’s a relief that things aren’t quite as bad. The international break definitely works in our favour. One encouraging sign is Pears’ eagerness to get on the pitch the moment the injury occurred. That kind of hunger shows he’s driven to play and likely keen to silence any critics. He clearly sees himself as the rightful number one, so let’s hope his performances back that up. It also works in his favour that he can now focus on preparing to start matches rather than warming the bench each week. I imagine he’ll be buzzing in training, full of confidence. Saying that, let's hope Toth returns quickly and injury free. He's been brilliant so far and hopefully continue his form when he's back.
  4. Not answered my question: So even if it was very briefly a badge for some players, in possibly a white shirt, why has the entire anniversary season been built on that mere foot note, not 148 other years of history and achievement? I.e said achievements in blue and white?
  5. Thanks Tyrone - best post so far on Hedges.
  6. They stopped shareholder and Consultation Meetings under the excuse of Covid and have never even mentioned the possibility of them resuming. So perhaps one question needs to be why the Fans Forum meetings are able to take place but the others cannot. It is abundantly clear that we have now reached a stage where there is no longer even the facade of this being a fair, accurate, representative exercise. The alternative minutes posted on here yesterday clearly display an obstructive, confrontational and unhelpful group of people running Rovers who are clearly uncomfortable with and reluctant to share important information even through this limited channel of communication. The suggestion that the sit down cosy interview with Gestede, Ismael and Owen at the end of the summer or the outrageous ones with Gestede, Pasha and Waggott earlier in the year are somehow evidence of their willingness to engage, both occasions being behind closed doors, in house interviews with prepared questions and editorial power held by them suggests they think such bare minimum efforts are good enough. The comment about 'signing 10 players' as though that represents backing from the owners - naturally ignoring that more than that number left the club requiring their replacement in any event and ignoring the millions of pounds pocketed in fees in the process. Just an outrageous attitude, group of people and they really ought to be ashamed of themselves. Then to top it all off we can't even get agreed accurate minutes of the meeting out afterwards. Best off giving it up now and waiting until they are willing to take this seriously.
  7. OK...the badge first worn by (some) of our players 😉 (I do admire pedantry BTW...it ensures accuracy...🫡)
  8. I agree with this entirely - the kit consultation group (that was almost entirely ignored) made this exact point...I wanted the Bob Crompton shirt for our anniversary kit...we might have to do a BRFCS version then eh ? 😉
  9. It was only awarded to players who had attended the said private schools,it was not the Clubs first Badge Ian.
  10. Because it has been documented (albeit only in writing) that it was our 1st badge...
  11. It certainly wasn't a criticism...it was an observation that we seem to be looking for a stick to beat the club with & I suspect you too are exasperated at the circular nature of this discussion 😉

  13. Huge blow for both Toth and Rovers given the way he has established himself. Although MRI scans are highly accurate, I was told by a leading NW Orthopaedic Surgeon in a consultation that circa 20% of common injuries are missed or misdiagnosed, commonly those issues in and around tiny structures and even with ACL's, it's sometimes difficult to tell the difference between a minor/partial tear and a full tear. Until the surgeon gets in there...............!!!!! Would be amazed if only 4 weeks and getting on for 8 weeks feels more realistic.
  14. Very pleased for him....except for when its an AFCON year and we lose him for a number of weeks.
  15. Not if we have to release him for AFCON in January, it isn't!
  16. Nigeria are after Alibousi playing for the national team, can only benefit rovers.
  17. What have other teams to do with Blackburn Rovers. Your own team getting a result, is all that matters.
  18. Very bad news. Pears has been capable of being okay for a few months at a time, so obviously I'm hoping for the same now. Most important though is that even if he does, we shouldn't make the same mistake that we did with Kaminski once he was back and let Pears keep the jersey. Toth is clearly our number one now.
  19. Yep, very strange rabbit hole they’ve gone down.
  20. Wouldn't he need a work permit? I thought we saw him at full time with Damien Johnson
  21. Just my opinion but if we played 140+ years in blue and white. Let's have blue and white as a shirt on the 150th year anniversary. It’s like someone organising my funeral and needing a photo to represent my life, and they choose a picture of a girlfriend I dated for a year instead of my wife of over sixty years. Utterly baffling. 🤣
  22. It isn't unusual to find odd errors in names in old newspapers It is possible to fit in a football pitch at the top of Lynwood Rd just behind the Dog Inn - but the slope gets steep once you get close to Higher Bank St and Sacred Heart School ( I used to do a paper round there in the 70s), so I think it much less likely than lower down The are quite a number of references to the Baptist chapel being built on part of the Rovers ground, together with the original name of Wellfield Rd being "Rover St". I'm sure the ground was on the lower section below St Silas Road which has a much more gentle slope. The OS map for 1895 (surveyed (in 1892) when Rovers had already gone shows where I'm sure it would have been. Building had already started on what would become Lynwood Rd and the surrounding streets. Sacred Heart School wasn't even built by this time - none of the buildings there could have been part of the ground.
