  1. Past hour
  2. Val says it's because we're a possession based team. Passing it forward risks losing possession, and we can't have that as they can't put "kept more possession" in the data on the end of year Powerpoint.
  3. Another long trip and another ground on which results have been mixed to say the least. Once again, travelling down in hope of a point and I think there is more chance of that here than at Ipswich. As for team selection - that's anyone's guess. However, I think the experience of Pickering and Ribeiro ought to be used more at the moment. Would be happy to see Pratt back in the team but I suspect Cashin plays because of the loan terms.
  4. A few of these are possibly harsh, but it's a challenge when you have restrictions on nationality. Wahlstedt Miller Duffy Daily De Neve Petrovic Goulon Etuhu Chris Brown Rigters Edinho
  5. Jorgenson won't start because he doesn't know the system. Mainly because he is a striker and the rest of the team don't know how to pass to one of those
  6. Only difference imo was Hanley was 6' plus but otherwise he was brainless as well and a liability at times but at least he was a tough lump with presence.
  7. Friedel Alebiosu Nelsen Samba Neill Tugay Ferguson Bohinen Duff Bellamy Shearer
  8. Carter off and 4 goals conceded. Reading hadn't won a game all season
  9. Rare picture of him apparently making a save there. Must be AI.
  10. Toth is a league above Pears, who was a league above Wahlstedt.
  11. Inspired by the sister forum, I thought we were also due a thread on migrants activity in Blackburn. On that basis, the rules are below: Blackburn Rovers best 11, but you can only have 1 player from each country. E.g. no Neil and Emerton! I have taken inspiration from Big Val and gone for a 5-2-3. Showing my generation, and putting some faith in the engine of some players.. Raya (ESP) Emerton (AUS) Samba (CON) Nelson (NZL) Givet (FRA) MGP (NOR) Tugay (TUR) Jermaine Jones (USA) Duff (ROI) Shearer (ENG) Bellamy (WAL) As a bonus round, I'd also like to see the worst XI
  12. Can’t believe we got a million for him. Absolutely woeful.
  13. Today
  14. It’ll be heartening to us all when we’re relegated that we would have won the ‘hard done by’ league.
  15. Rosenborg look to be signing Wahlstedt from AGF for €500k. Making a loss on the €1m they paid Rovers.
  16. They've been swapped and changed about that much Itheir styles are all merging and we're getting this hotchpotch system were people haven't got a scooby what system/style they are meant to be playing
  17. Agreed, some of the best away performances came form playing that way with more of a press and then counter type style whilst trying to keep possession for periods as well. This all out relentless press that hes switched too just isn't working for a number of reasons. Get back to using the ball and playing a bit of football with the help of a better suited system with players doing what they can manage. It's becoming as daft as JDT's relentless total football from your own penalty area. But whilst it isn't as wide open at the back it is creating nothing whatsoever up top.
  18. It's as much the strength of the bench as the first 11, nobody is getting a rest,Ohashi being the most obvious example. Morishita is a big miss.
  19. The push on Ohashi looked just outside the box so VAR would have been no help in that instance, plus it'd definitely have given them a pen for the foul by Cashin
  20. Reminiscent in looks of a shorter Grant Hanley and play when Hanley at his worse. At his best, Hanley 10 times the player Cashin is.
  21. Head coaches don't have the gumption for that kind of old school manager think. They have a formation blueprint and stat sheet for themselves and the opposition from their team of ipad men and they follow that. their idea of thinking out the box is play a new young midfielder up front because his running stats are good and if he gets Championship mins his value will increase. If he does well there and scores or assists it'll go up even further. Rinse and repeat for LWB, RWB etc, that's all that matters.
  22. I wonder who decides enough is enough? Rudy will drag his heels because he is one of his own. Plus it makes his position flaky. Problem is that if we bin Ishmael then we will only pick up an out of work manager who will want assurances and a hefty bonus to keep us up. And there is a reason they are out of work All money we apparently don’t have. That’s before the long term contract pay off money for “Ish” and his team.
  23. If we are so obliged to play Henriksson and De Neve etc, it's frustrating that we continue to not play to their '1 trick'. I'm not saying build a team around them, but De Neve's 1 outlet is to out pace a man and put a cross in yet. Henriksson is pressing players etc. Seeing as we intended to start the season with a 4 at the back, you'd think sitting deeper and hoping we play in the break with pace (including new lad) and battle for the ball (Ohashi and Henriksson) would suit more. The more adept footballers like Tronstad, Cantwell and Baradji could work to that where as currently we're asking limited footballers to adapt to them and it's killing us
  24. winning 1-0 at half time, Batty
  25. Neil Young - World on a String
