  1. Past hour
  2. I wonder if we had to convince a league to accept us? We clearly have no intention on trying for promotion, so the league below was well within their rights to tell us to jog on.
  3. That’s got to be the most ironic post I’ve ever read. 😊 .!
  4. Correct but the money will disappear into paying bills and another good players is gone. We lose players now because they aren't offering favourable terms early enough that much has been clear for a while. We were used to having players poached every now again its always happened but the past few years we are now active sellers, not trader, sellers.
  5. We're the bargain shelf of the Championship, turn players into premier material at the academy, then along come the other clubs to snap them up at a bargain.

  8. March 2025 - https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25026507.travis-contract-latest-blackburn-landscape-new-deals/ 'Travis nor his agent has not held any discussions with the Blackburn Rovers board about extending his stay. He is relaxed about the situation though and remains focused on the final eight games of the campaign' "Yeah, of course I would like to stay. I've been here most of my footballing career. But yeah, like I said, no one's said anything to me. "That's football. It is what it is. I think football is football and if it's not here, it'll be elsewhere but I'm not focused on that. April 2025 - https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25098586.sondre-tronstad-makes-blackburn-rovers-contract-admission/ Sondre Tronstad has not held talks over extending his stay at Blackburn Rovers but would be happy to sign a new contract. Tronstad is focused on finishing the season strongly but reiterated that he would be happy to renew his terms at Ewood Park. "Yes, I'd really like to be here. I'd really like to play here in the future and years to come," Tronstad said. "I like the players and fans, the club in general and the league. I would like to stay. I haven't had any talks about a new deal. I'm open for it, really. Can't find the Brittain one, maybe I've imagined that but suspect he's in the same boat despite certain claims suggesting he's close to a new deal here.
  9. Back when we complained about it we believed part of transfer funds received would be put back into recruitment. Gestede has made it clear that the budget is set and it doesn't go up when we sell a player.Id rather these players stayed for the season and leave on a free if the money received for them just means the owners send less over
  10. Will pass judgement once the window is shut but history tells us it's gonna be another long summer.
  11. If Britton doesn't sign in the coming weeks be cause of wages sell him if offers are good most people on here giving out that we lose players for free when contracts are run down. If he's sold in the summer because he hasn't signed a new deal the club have done exactly what we've been wanting them to do for years
  12. Do you have links to those interviews, by any chance?
  13. Yup asset stripping through negligence. A properly engaged owner with less money would make a huge difference just by planning ahead, making the key decisions at the right time, being creative with resources when needed, building a relationship with the fan base to boost crowds and income. We are always on the back foot unable to plan.
  14. Yeah agreed on this - makes us feel like we have the whip hand but from the players perspective must make them feel that the club isnt playing fair, just putting off deserved improved contracts. If we are not able to offer competitive deals for established players the only option we have to keep them is offer improved deals early while they look attractive to the player. As soon as we are within 18 months of the contract expiring we are buggered.
  15. Do you mean because the first statement was raw? That was exactly what was needed. A raw, dogged, straight to the point statement, no bells or whistles. Said everything that was needed to be said. It was the first one. Since then they have developed and included more insight and information to Le Grande Venky Cirque
  16. Exactly, they are so transparent. Numerous people have posted this time and time again over the years it's so predictable. It's infuriating that some people are just so thick they can't see their tactics.
  17. Maybe he’s assuming we are only as clever as he is.
  18. Rovers, at the forefront of equality 😁😁
  19. That a great picture, packed Riverside, a few sat on the wall and The Manxman pub in the background, superb Herbie.
  20. (So long as the statements are coherent) I just don’t see that as an issue myself. The club are blanking the coalition because they’re running scared, not because (for example) their syntax might not be perfect.
  21. The statements went across 27 different sets of eyes, and were reviewed by each of them too. They were then reviewed by two journalist before finally being released. The media has ran with every statement issued word for word.
  22. The only reason the other two went was because one said he didn't want a payout and we actually received money for Eustace Nobody's taking Ismael off our hands and he has a 3 year deal, if he has us in relegation to league 2 in October 2026 they might pay off the rest of his deal as there will only be 12/18 months left on the deal.
  23. The 'years options' are proving to be both a blessing and a curse in Rovers case. Yes we have the security of another year but it means they leave contract renewals too late because of that security and by then it's too late because agents are already at work alerting their players to what kind of wages and signing on fees might be out there.
  24. Celtic will collect their participation trophies like they do every year so it's not going to make any difference to them but for the likes of Aberdeen and what not it's a great opportunity to cement themselves as the other team in Scotland. Who knows, the SPL might return to the glory days of being a two team league.
  25. It is Eid on Saturday in India, for the Muslim population living there. It's likely he has gone to spend time with family there over Eid. Alternatively, it may be that Glen's regular updates to Pune have prompted them to call him in for talks. If it is the latter, there are only one of two things he could say to them that would be acceptable, in my view: 1) Either, he tells them "I'm out", as the pressure is getting too much for him. This would leave them in limbo, "confused", and push them closer towards the exit door, IMO. 2) Or, he advises them to call it a day and sell up. Nothing else is good enough. All this talk about developing Academy players, giving them 3,000 minutes and selling them on is for the fairies. Big Sam even said as much to Rudy's face, when he told him the Academy shouldn't be the main focus. JDT wanted experience for a reason. As did Eustace and as will Ismael. You win eff all with kids, quite simply. If they want to play the numbers game, fine. Here's one for them. It has been 4,770 days since we were last in the Premier League. 4,770. Why don't they find some shame regarding that stat? Do something about it or piss off...is my message for those in Pune and for Pasha. They aren't arsed about that and many other football matters...so the message is clear. Piss off. Regardless.
  26. I agree Glen does some sterling work to affect change it's just the statement from the coalition a group of people trying their best was poor gramatically
