  1. Past hour
  2. Dolan was in the first team on £300 quid a week and i'd stake my house on he ain't on more than 3500k now and was offered nothing resembling a wage he can get elsewhere 2 years ago. Complete fantasy stuff that he'd turn down a big pay rise in order to sit out his contract FOR TWO YEARS, absolute nonsense. Fact is Rovers WILL NOT pay their academy grads a jump from small to big money the examples now are there for all to see. Good luck to him he might double his pay at Derby but still won't be on big money because they don't have it. However remember these players have seen the inside of Rovers they have dealt with the people there, they know what gets said inside the club and we don't. Where do you think Derby intend to try and head in the next few years as opposed to Rovers ? Again the evidence is rather obvious.
  3. I have no doubt we haven’t or we have low balled him this isn’t a defence of rovers this is more a question on Dolan and whilst all players should be confident in their ability to play at a higher level I don’t think Derby would have been on his or his agents radar. I reckon they would have hoped for better in footballing terms. Financially he’s clearly going to be better off so good luck to him
  4. Perhaps the deal he was offered was not befitting of a player of his level. So many players here dont sign deals put in front of them (or the ones we even bother to do that) and his last contract was signed a good while ago when he has just broke through so it wouldnt be a surprise if it was a wage offered that was not reasonable and we havent bothered to offer one since. I still cant see him going to Derby personally.
  5. From tomorrow Rovers won't be paying the wages of the out of contract players including loans. How much will they be saving on the wages of Dolan, Batth, Weimann, Woodrow, Beck and Dennis?
  6. Not disagreeing I’d say that’s a fair assumption but my post is specific to Dolan….his interview about playing highest level and being more ambitious etc doesn’t scream Derby to me…batth and weimann are in their last year/s of football so familiarity would be key
  7. Derby might be his highest level…
  8. Maybe these players fancy going to Derby because they loved working under Eustace last season, were gutted when he left and are keen to get back working with him? That would mean more serious and longer term consequences and implications to him moving to Derby but hey, at least we've now got 'alignment' between head coach and work experience head of football and some compo banked for Eustace and his staff Happy days indeed.
  9. Gregg tried in 2023 and was told no because Dolan went solo and had no agent and then moved to a different agency people are right to jump ship from here I just find it laughable that Dolan in his interviews states about playing at the highest level etc and then moves to Derby….only my opinion of course and at least we get comp
  10. Alan Biggs is a well respected, Sheffield based journalist who has had the inside track at Wednesday for ages. It looks like today could be huge for them in terms of their immediate future.
  11. Just for money? Derby are skint. The difference is their owner still wants them to progress and backs his manager as much as he can. There's no evidence other than the words of liars on the Venky payroll that any serious efforts have been made to keep any of our players. Most of the players have admitted this in public in the last few months. If we had really tried the odds suggest that at least one of them would have signed up. The fact that 0 have signed tells me that we aren't trying.
  12. Why what on earth happens when they retire? Do they get taken out to pasture?
  13. Agree, it looks wrong when viewed from the side, either mainly all white, or all blue.
  14. Dolan is an honest pro and I don't blame him for seeking other adventures, and he'll probably start a lot of games under Eustace at Derby. Think he'll disappear like Nyambe did.
  15. Money is the driver to everything sadly. But I disagree on your comment about Eustace, I think he'll be one of the main reasons why he's go there...Otherwise, why else would he go? (No offence to Derby). He'll have plenty of suitors and bigger opportunities than them. I would have thought Sheffield united or West Brom would have been somewhere he goes. Let's see.
  16. and can you blame him? A manager he likes and respects and a club clearly with more ambition than Rovers who are backing their manager and making good on the promises made to him. A no brainer.
  17. What's wrong with that? Everything else seems too work on the basis of the free market---supply and demand. A footballer's life is a short one, why shouldn't he get the best deal he can? Not as if there's any reward for loyalty at Rovers these days is it?
  18. If Dolan goes to Derby it’s just for money I don’t want to hear about Eustace or ambitious owners etc it’s purely a money based decision. We have tried with him for 2 years even Gregg the egg couldn’t get him to sign on
  19. No surprise, at least we'll get a compensation for Dolan in that case. Survival signings.
  20. That is exact where I get to when I have the energy to think about them and some supporters theories. Your second paragraph is correct too in my view but I would throw in the word arrogant.
  21. Today
  22. Twitter rumour (so take it for what it is) gathering pace that Dolan will sign for Derby, along with Weimann and Batth.
  23. Ismael's only remit is the same as JDT'S in his second season. To stay in the championship and develop players. Ismael knows that, so unless he's secretly harbouring ambitions of a play off push, I can't see him walking away from "the project" and of course, the clowns running the circus won't sack him.
  24. Pears you're absolutely right on, if anyone disputes that they need their head testing. Absolutely nobody at this stage however can really compare Toth based on 6 appearances, a third of which he kept a clean sheet in, 1 funnily enough against Kaminski's team who didn't. Give it at least another 10 games or so and we might be able to form a better comparison.
  25. Yesterday
  26. Perhaps that is because they have a large, passionate fanbase that won't turn their back on their club?
  27. Really surprised Kaminski has ended up at Charlton? I can only think they have a few bob and could match his Luton contract.
