  1. Past hour
  2. I also filled out the survey. How long is it staying open for, and when will the results be fed back?
  3. He did ok with the previous squad back end of last season after a awful start so it's fair to say he might have done ok with that team this season. However it's obvious with better squads and backing at WBA and Watford he delivered nothing but average at best returns. So just like Coyle and one or two others he needs a good squad just to be average. So we can only deduce that's all they want at this club but being the cretins they are they can't provide him a good squad. So what in gods name do they expect, this is another experiment dreamt up by businessmen, agents and financial people NOT football operators. Doomed to failure from the start unless something just clicks as if by magic.
  4. Also other contemporary sources of quite possibly the first ever game played at Church which states that the team wore blue and white quarters.
  5. I can accept the club failing and the team performing poorly. I can't and won't accept when those things are done deliberately by choice.
  6. Ismael is a symptom, not the disease In any business, the culture starts at the top - above him are Rudy, Suhail Pasha and VENKYS Nothing gets better until they’re gone #VenkysOut
  7. So did I. 5 times 😊
  8. Apparently SW is on gardening leave until well into 2026. He must have been on 12 months notice.
  9. Parsons, surely info from the Clubs earliest Books/ Historical references should be used here: Its Blue and White Quatered Shirts.
  10. End of the day the only protest that will raise any awareness is one of two options 1. Total boycott - Not happening 2. Cause so much disruption that the game gets abandoned - Also not happening
  11. No evidence to suggest that the team ever played in those colours though. The date of the foundation of the club is also up for debate.
  12. There’s a group of us that’s been attending longer distance away games for many years - not all games by any means but picking the ones where we enjoy going or maybe a new ground where we’ve never been before. Probably 7 or 8 games a season. It’s always been a fun day out for a few old codgers, on the road or by rail, even in the worst times. We’ve been to one game this season, and I can’t see us going to another one. The feeling has gone, killed off by the constant mismanagement of the club and feeling that it is all so pointless (literally). The relegation last time was bad enough but this coming one feels terminal and one that the club will not recover from It’s sad but all good things come to an end I guess. Maybe it is old age but we’ve come to an agreement - we don’t enjoy it any more. The problem is there’s more and more of us drifting away, and the fanbase gets smaller with each passing year. The missing fans won’t be coming back - and they’re not being replaced by younger ones who probably think they’ve better things to do with their time and money than support a failing and most likely dying club

  14. In order to reduce our dependence on advertising income we are trying to diversify our income streams and initiatives such as the new online shop & subscribers are two such methods. The costs of running the site creep up inexorably each year and so knowing that we have a loyal base of subscribers helps us to plan with greater certainty & that enables us to add great new features e.g. the shop, the Match Centre & behind the scenes stuff like better hosting, improved site security & podcast software. We really would like more subscribers, so for every subscriber that is ACTIVE on 31st October we will enter you into a draw to win some really great prizes. These include:- 1. A fabulous unframed Gail Myerscough print of the BBE turnstiles (as seen in our SHOP page) 2. A tee shirt of that design in a colour/size of your choice 3. A mug with that same design on it You can sign up for just £1.99 for the first month - £3.99 per month on renewal or for the best value £39.99 for an annual subscription - so support your favourite Rovers fan site & subscribe today. Thanks everyone…COYB.
  15. There's a legend that part of Sacred Heart is what was the old pavilion, but I really doubt it, it would have been wooden for a start more than likely. Maybe send Time Team round?
  16. I'm like every one else, I feel like a vital part of my life has been stolen from me. There's a huge void which nothing else can fill. It's like bereavement. .
  17. The minutes of the first two meetings were printed in a Rovers programme in December 1909 as part of a series of articles on the club's history.
  18. Yeah, the technical deficiency across almost the entire squad is a massive concern. These guys need a manager to coach them in the absolute basics and make sure they stick to it. The type who can get the best out of very limited players - kind of like the manager we literally had before the current one. Ismael is for sure not that man and never will be.
  19. Anybody here have a chess.com account? If anyone would like a game my username is noggin_java.
  20. The minutes of the very first meeting of the club (9th November 1875) contained the following: 4. That the colours be : White jersey, blue and white skull cap, trousers optional. Proposed by H. Greenwood. Seconded by R. Higson. The minutes of the meeting the following week (15th November 1875) contained the following: 1. That a Maltese cross be on the left breast in blue. Proposed by W. Baguley. Seconded by A. Constantine.
  21. Today
  22. Love how the "apology" was blatantly written by somebody who has basic literacy skills as opposed to Duffy. Assume the club had a word with him and provided that statement for him to post.
  23. I'm now based in Somerset. I get to 4 or 5 Rovers games a year. For convenience and, to be honest, increasingly due to disassociation with what Rovers has become, I attend a few Exeter City and Bristol City home games each year. Neither feels anything like the same as watching and supporting Rovers. The Bristol City games in particularly make me feel like I'm cheating on a lover!! I'll never feel the same emotion at any other club I watch but, to be honest, the less and less that Rovers feels like "my" club, the less that extra buzz really matters. Its sad but I feel like I'm fighting, with diminishing success, the loss of love for something that used to matter so much to me. One day, I suspect that politely clapping a local team that I don't love as much but who's ownership doesn't treat me, as a supporter, like an idiot will be enough for me to just stop going to Rovers, altogether and to simply listen out in hope for news of ownership change, but little more in the meantime.
