Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
K-Hod replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Ismael is absolutely shite at his job. Problem is, so are the people choosing his successor. This is a really bold statement and not one I ever wanted to have to make about the club I love, but: I have absolutely no confidence in the competence of anyone in a senior role for Blackburn Rovers Football Club and Athletic PLC. Could probably extend that to people in positions below those senior ones too. Not a shred of competence knocking about. -

Without a doubt ! And the Derby 3 or is it 4 ? Ismael says it is a better squad , should be sacked for that alone ! -
Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
Eddie replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
He's part of one of our problems. Our biggest problem is the owners and the incompetence of our senior leadership. Until that problem is solved, we have no chance of being a properly run football club. However, we now have a second problem, which is a lack of quality in our manager and our playing squad. Both of those have been caused by problem number one, but we saw under Eustace and JDT that a good manager can reduce the impact of the bad ownership and senior management. Any good manager will eventually leave, but we don't have to be totally resigned to the fact that we will have awful managers until our owners change. Ismael is an awful manager. The tactics he sets us up with never work. Our players don't seem to be on the same page. He also never makes substitutions or changes during a match that positively impact the outcome. In fact, most matches he just stands on the touchline and watches matches drift by. He shouldn't get a pass just because our owners and various 'heads of' are sinking the ship. He is watching the ship go down, and, instead of throwing lifevests into the water, he is standing at the helm steering us directly towards an iceberg. -

Listening to his interview he has basically just written off this month due to injuries and doesn’t seem assed about results or performances till players come back. -

The January 2026 Transfer Window
Bbrovers2288 replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
We all knew we were under the cosh with injuries and last minute player sales, we all knew we had to get bodies in very quickly once January starts, we are sitting with 2 dubious transfers on January 17th. Writing is on the wall, the gamble of gestede hasn’t worked out like we all knew and we are done for. I can’t even get angry anymore , it’s laughable how it’s all happened and been allowed to happen. Football is dead to me -
Strong chance we start the boycott game in the drop zone, going to be lots of in fighting. If only the players had the same fight

I am afraid after today if there was not a depressing thread about how disinterested you have become with this lot i would have had to started one. -

This guy wouldn't still be in a job at ANY other club. -
As soon as we end up in the bottom three, we won’t get out of it again. Not with our meek surrender monkeys. Seen more fight in a pacifist.

I am sure , he has said for the last 3 seasons ! Difference is, this manager is a clown !

20 games left. 20 games. And coming thick n fast they'll be over in a flash. This team needs to give itself a long hard look in the mirror now. Everyone else can see what they aren't doing, why can't they? I'm no championship manager but there's a clear lacking in leadership of the pitch and on it. They weren't all fresh ready to go they all looked fooked. Is the training to much? Is it too intense? Because I don't think anyone bar our GK looks like a 90 minute player. Honestly can't see it from any of them. Disheartened, pissed off with everything. 17th January still on 2 signings. We need reinforcements and we need them now while we have a stretch of games we're we can potentially pull points. Because we arent going to get the chance again this season in this league. -

Lad steps up from academy, no commission for an agent or their pals. Guy signed on loan for a modest wage contribution and maybe a loan fee, agent gets commission. There is no other sense in it other than that by bringing in that guy to play above Pratt. Their is a budget and they are finding ways to spend it and get their %. -

If we go down we arent coming back for sometime with this squad. All the better players will leave and we'll be left competing against likewise quality in league 1 remaining there getting ribbed by absolutely every team that comes our way. -

Norwich were always going to get out of this, so it’ll probably come down to us or Pompey and they’ll have far bigger cajones than us. Doomed, I tell you. -
