Since Chaddy isn't here to say it, I must remind anyone with a 5 O'clock alarm that they must realise that this is the way of the world now and what the clubs wanted.
-
Really?! just look at the video above. Think he's be a terrible option, seems a yes man so 100% see him being appointed.
-
Yes not having a dig we are all just so desperate to have something, someone or just anything to actually get behind.
-
Ainsworth is an idiot.
-
Forgot about him. Like him, would have had him at one point but his star has fallen somewhat I'd say. Smacks of preparing for life in League 1/2 long term. Could be better, could be worse.
-
Gave us this which is amazing, but yeah, we've had enough embarrassment as it is.
-
Grant Anley?
-
Please lord no. Graham Alexander is an interesting one.

The January 2026 Transfer Window

He was I didn’t say which bench, I saw him on a bench in a bus stop in Cherry Tree. (and yes I was misled by sky sports team sheet) -
Chaddys reaction to an ex dingle like Alexander would be quite something.....
-
Failed really badly at QPR.

Gareth Ainsworth!?

Graham Alexander? -
Ainsworth?

If we want someone who's been round the block 29 times, been sacked from more Clubs than you can shake a stick at, and done absolutely nothing worthwhile in forever then surely Steve Bruce must also be on that shortlist. Surprised you haven't endorsed him as well.

Not claiming to be in the know but I've just been coming back from work in Bolton to Wilmslow where I live, and seen what I thought was Savage speeding into a shoe shops car park. Took a while to catch up but sure enough managed to catch him. As I got out my car he's got a shop assistant helping him. This little boy is carrying 7 pairs of white trainers for him to his car. As Savage was sat there doing nothing he had ample time to tell me he won't be coming to Ewood - so take from that what you will.

I saw Ferguson play a few times for Scotland and he was top class. Nearly at the Graham Souness level. I was thrilled when he signed. What went wrong I don’t know. I thought he was just starting to look the part when he broke his kneecap. After that it was downhill.
-
I mean yeah, that's why I said heart over head - he's not the answer and it would very likely be a legacy tarnishing appointment. Sorry, perhaps I should be clearer when I post these things.

Barry Ferguson... jeez I was one very excited (Rovers mad) late-teenager when he was signed. Thought he was going to be a superstar for us in that 2003-2004 season along with Brett Emerton and Lorenzo Amoruso. The pain of losing Duff and Dunn felt naively minimised in August... Could be a fun sub-group topic: "Players you were irrationally delirious we signed". I would have Barry Ferguson, Brett Emerton, Benni McCarthy, Morten Gamst-Pedersen and (oddly - with more mature arousal) Lewis Holtby in my top 5. Now lemme think about managers that have given me even minimal excitement since Mark Hughes... 🤮
-
Watford and Leicester are looking too arent they? and so far we've had Reading and Forest Green fucking Rovers having to do 'hands off' pleas via social media from their managers... An agents dream this... but also depressing.
-
But Hughes hasn't done that ANYWHERE since here 20+ years ago with still a modicum of Walker Trust backing for a few years. It's pie in the sky stuff to even dream he'd do anything with this lot now. Bet365 behind him at Stoke, done nothing since.
-
Not knocking Hughes but it took him the best part of a season to turn us round after he took over from Souness. It was a slow process. At the time he said the players weren't even fit.

2025-26 Relegation thread

Makes it a bit more interesting anyway. Have to say, think 6 points instead of 9 is exceptionally lenient. Be some very disgruntled Clubs if they go down by 3 points or less. Let's hope we're not one of them. -
We need someone to do what Hughes did when he first came in - pick a team up, make it tough to beat and keep us in the division. I get why the idea of getting him back in appeals - hell, heart over head I'd have him in a flash. What we need to find is the modern equivalent. Of course being a division below where we were then does limit our pull somewhat. Is Savage that guy? Bellamy? Do they absolutely have to be Welsh for it to work? IDK, man. IDK.
