Ah in that case let's take the men's team to semi-pro too. The other common response seems to be "did you ever watch the women's team", in which case let's reduce our youth teams and under 23s as well. -

Read comments on the LT chat site yesterday. There were about 10 comments on this development and all of them approved it as a sensible decision! Losing money, low crowds etc. -

''The idea being to show & display that the fans remaining are the heart of the club and we aren’t going anywhere. Protests in the ground are absolute futile, so let’s spread love not hate for the white & blue 💙" Just what the feck is going on here? -
Thinking again of that game Waggy, we had no tickets we simply turned up on the day, paid in cash and sat in whatever stand suited us, surrounded by Everton supporters who never bothered us (possibly because we were outclassed!) Those were the days!

I think they look awful and are wholly a European / South American thing. - Today

For those fans joining me in the Riverside for the first time from other sections of the ground please have very low expectations of both amenities and atmosphere 🙂 If you like a pint at half time you have no chance of being served without missing half the first half. They man the kiosks with a single 15 year old who seems to change every week and has no idea how to pour beer or take payment. If you need a number 2 don't even bother the toilets are freezing with floors and paint peeling off the floor and walls. Also the hand dryers are from 1960 so hope you like wet hands in the middle of winter. If you have sat too near the front and it's windy you will be soaked, also mind the peeling paint all on the steps as it's super slippy. Also if you want to exit via the Darwen end they seem to now regularly close it so you have to walk all the way around the ground. Welcome to the shitshow!

We don’t have the same numbers or enthusiasm as Wednesday but if you’re willing to get something off the ground feel free. I’m just basing this on my own experience - there is little to no real support for a “protest” in the ground. If there was it would have happened already. Also they came out of the shadows in response to Glen’s work calling them out in the media. The “Pasha Out” banner was great but it came after this and was ultimately futile as the parasite is still there. “Support the team not the regime” would be a great message to have on a Tifo or Flag though. I just think the overall message needs to change from hating Venkys/Pasha to the fans being 100% committed to still supporting the club regardless of the chaos behind the scenes. -

I don't think protests inside/outside the ground are futile. Wednesday fans have shown this season, you can make clear your backing for the team and your disgust for the ownership. The yellow card protest, turning their backs in the 10th minute etc - yes, the club can try to dismiss it as just a few angry supporters but it keeps the pressure on them. We all saw how uncomfortable the Pasha Out banner made them and they felt need to finally come out of the shadows. One clear message, change the format of protest each time: Venky's time to go. Support the team, not the regime. -

Care to explain why? I’m opposed to the word “Tifo” as it’s essentially just a flag but I do believe they galvanise the fans, look great on TV and help to create a positive atmosphere in the stadium. The idea for this particular cause being to show solidarity & strength and not willing to back down against the poor ownership and running of the club. -

The Brereton deal was certainly an out of the blue one but the fact he saw out his contract and left for nothing wouldn't have gone down well with whoever might have stumped up that money. I'd have expected high profile sackings for that one unless it's the stuff of persil non bio. Rhodes i know it was touted big Barry stumped up but they paid for him 2 mill a year so that leads me to think it was parachute money. Gallagher i reckon was Mowbray's present for promotion but we'll never know as they were providing bigger budgets overall back then. Pre pandemic though their core business was flying so i assume profit/tax write off money in India was flowing more freely than it does now. That's obviously before any investigations took root.

Surprise surprise, phase 1 season tickets end and they start to piss the fan base off again. -
Went to that one, can't remember what stand. I thought there was such a gap in class then I could never imagine us coming back there 20 years later and winning! We did think we'd scored first but it was rightly disallowed for a push as I recall.
