  2. Venky’s were “badly advised” to buy the club by Suhail Pasha. Venky’s were “badly advised” to go into partnership with a certain agency, by Suhail Pasha. The agency recommended by Suhail Pasha then “badly advised” Venky’s to sack competent people, employ incompetent ones, and decimate our squad. They eventually took said agency to court, but allowed former employees of that agency to install Owen Coyle, Paul Lambert, and Tony Mowbray. Without said agency advising, they decided that Suhail Pasha could come back and do the advising instead! His most recent advice to them has been to tell them that all the crowd unrest was due to Steve Waggott, it was Waggott the fans didn’t like, not them. And all the fans were really pleased that he’d employed a club legend like Rudy Gestede - who could run the footballing side of things way better than Broughton or Waggott. His latest advice, which will no doubt turn out to be bad, is that they can cut costs to the extent that Venky’s won’t ever need to put another penny in to Rovers sooner rather than later. There is one man more culpable than any other for the state we find ourselves in today. More so than Steve Kean or Jerome Anderson. And he is still here being allowed to make catastrophic decisions. Removing this absolute scourge has to be the priority.
  3. I think on the topic of tall athletic players, it has something to do with the energy and press but also to win the ball more across the pitch and defend set pieces. Maybe even be a threat ourselves. I like Baradji as a signing. Injury is a concern but the deal makes sense. I wouldnt turn on Travis, he's been a great servant and someone I've enjoyed watching and its hard to see him go but sometimes you need to try something different to realise the path to move forward. Baradji and Tavares both seem more mobile and athletic to not only put the tackles in and keep things tight but to also get us up the pitch. Travis and Tronstad have often been a wall and a great pairing but it does then limit us going forwards. Did find it funny that Val gave a BBC interview about not wanting loans and an hour later we announce a loan signing...
  4. Im guessing that you dont think that the account is someone high up on the inside and it is just a remarkably accurate average joe who happens to both know everything and just happens to put a lovely spin on it at all to try and make the club seem like its coming up roses?
  5. A good player =/= a good captain. I'm not going to write him off as a captain just yet but based on his history of a Rovers player so far I don't see how he is a logical choice at all. Well, apart from the fact we're pushing anyone who would be a better choice out of the club.
  6. Its a risk and I can see both sides. Maybe it will cause him to step up and grow up. He is a really important player for us. But he certainly doesnt show as a natural leader. Tronstad would be the obvious option and I suspect would have been given it if he wasnt destined to also leave by next summer at the latest.
  7. For a club that doesn't care about it's fans, they don't half go the extra mile to make them feel better.
  8. And all is well in chaddyworld. They could do absolutely anything and you'd either be happy with it or try to pass it off as normal. On Cantwell, him getting the captaincy is right down near the bottom of the list of things we need to worry about but just because it's happened doesn't automatically make it a good thing. I can't think of anyone less suitable personally but each to their own.
  9. There can be more than one answer. Results have been pretty woeful since he joined, their fans dont like him and hes trying to get players to do things that they arent good at. The whole thing looks totaly disjointed, like the coaching is really poor and the players arent behind him. He did well to get the West Ham job, hes not a good manager.
  10. rumours are doubting whether Nuno will be in charge for the Palace game.
  11. So one of many that I named that you are being pedantic over. My point is still valid.
  12. sacking Potter isn't the right answer, actually signing some quality players for him. That West Ham squad need 3 or 4 quality signings. A quality centre back and holding midfielder is a must before the window but what do West Ham really expect as a club? what their plan?
  13. Not answering my question but ok.
  14. He's failing as things stand then, I think it's fair to suggest.
  15. To be fair Shearer and Sutton have spoken up regularly and had quite strong pops at Venkys in the past.
  16. I haven't seen much of Barrett, Goddard or Honor. Can you what qualities each have please?
  17. If I remember rightly, there was a horse manure operation in Brunei which had Swiss, Italian and English noble men at its helm. There was supposed to be a documentary on it where they showed how they collected and shovelled huge piles of shit, but it didn't happen for some reason. Sorry, I digress. The talk of Switzerland and Italy from earlier on bought that memory back to mind. Back on topic, I wish we would sign more players from that region. It is an untapped market with potential gems to be found. We've seen how they have done with Schar, Rodriguez, Xhaka, Embolo in the not too distant past. I guess there's still time for Rudy to surprise us over the next week as the window reaches a crescendo. To be fair, he is right. This is when it really gets exciting. In the final week of the window. Sad as it is, but I will be glued to this forum until the window shuts. I just know it. Bring on deadline day! I like the look of Baradji, he has ability. However, I would have been happier if he was being added to what we already had. Not as a Travis replacement. That is taking a risk. On a side note, Baradji and Mafoumbi have the same agent. Not that it matters, but this probably made it easier to sort out the ESC slot situation, I guess.
  18. Morris didn't joined late unless June is late now.
  19. barely deserved equalise for derby though im`e surprised bristol city did`nt go for the kill in the 2nd half, the game would have been over at 0-2
  20. Whats your gut feeling on whether he will prove to be a successful or unsuccessful Rovers manager?
  21. wrong actually. I thought Ismael was wrong to make that triple sub on Saturday when we did and where we were on the pitch, and who came on. Ismael isn't in my good books or bad books actually. Results will determine that but I do think Ismael was right for answering the question he was asked.
  22. Take on board that it wouldnt have been reinvested anyway so its fairly moot and I also agree that you cant compare different players. But my logic isnt based on other players. Its based on our weak negotiating position. In the summer, having played more games, without us being so desperate, he or indeed any player is worth more under those circumstances. How much more, I dont know, but more.
  23. Goddard, I also quite like Sol Honor
  24. I stand corrected. But he was still in the squads wasn't he? Look If you think we would have got 30 million in the summer then good for you but I disagree and I have given my reasons why
  25. Ive just listed a number of fitness issues. Players joining late, players who are injured/carrying injuries and players who didnt have a pre season.
