  1. Past hour
  2. That just shows how shit all the others have been. The bar's so low it's buried about 2m underground.
  3. To mirror Andy's comments, I'm not sure I want to know how you've got this information.
  4. Today
  5. Defensively, we look really weak, in terms of being at the top level. Stones and Walker were stand outs of the defence we had, they were key for Man City amidst their dominance. Stones just simply cant stay fit anymore, his involvement at City in the last couple of years has become massively reduced as a result. Walker was so important but his main asset has gone hence why he got bombed out and left to Burnley. Shaw was also important and his body has long since given up on him. The likes of Maguire and Trippier werent at that level but they themselves are out of contention. What we have now is really underwhelming. Rice is a really good player but finding a suitable partner to sit and protect the defence and use the ball well is a problem. Wharton is the obvious choice but until he is allowed to step up, is fit to step up and proves it then we cant assume. Anderson did well today but it was Andorra and im not convinced that he is a holding midfielder at all. We do obviously have some good players in attack but as we agree there is a big imbalance. Our best 2 players are probably Bellingham and Palmer and if you try and squeeze them in together, then one would be out of position. All the options out wide beside Saka are far from being top class.
  6. They were and all the fans stood together as one : There's only Simon Garner !
  7. Those were great days. And I really do miss them. What we have now is a fucking insult. Andy Kennedy. Steve archibald. Ossie. Chrissy price. Try gennoe in goal. Marvelous days. Some really great players. And a much better support to the club
  8. Not sure about his age at the time, but David Raya is the only one I can think of. For all the propaganda about 'becoming men' by going off to the fifth or sixth tier (George Pratt's just gone to Chorley to play "regular" football for "a month" (note the contradiction)), it appears unlikely that many, if any, will return to be Rovers first teamers. Montgomery is favoured by the manager and he was at Chorley, but not sure he'll make the cut long-term. Players like Darragh Lenihan, Scott Wharton, Hayden Carter and so on, cut their teeth at L2 and then L1 levels. Then, players like Travis, JRC, Nyambe, Buckley, broke into the team/squad without going away on loan, as far as I recall.
  9. Blackburn Council = Don't want a nightlife, don't want a busy matchday crowd, don't want a thriving market. Do want - parking fines, mass house building, anything the ISSA brothers demand. Maybe if the club didn't invite so many away fans the problems wouldn't be as bad.
  10. You cannot argue that ! But, what is twice nowt ?
  11. I disagree personally on the quality point. England have a very good available players, for the first time in the last few years a lot of players playing abroad in Champions League teams. I haven't seen a lot to suggest we are far behind other European nations in quality except Spain who are in a bracket of their own. Walker retiring is a big loss but most of the other players you mention (Maguire, Henderson, Shaw, Trippier) don't think is a significant issue. I would not say any of those are better than what we have. Stones on his day is a step up, but he's still got fuel in the tank. When Kane retires (after this world cup?) that will be another challenge. On the English attack being too similar I do agree... lots of players who want to cut in or play at number 10 makes us very narrow and not get in behind. Only really Gordon who wants to get to the byline. We do need to figure out how to address that. Kane always wanting to come short doesn't help. As for whether Tuchel is the right guy... somehow we have only managed to play 5 games since he took over 300 days ago so it's too early to tell really.
  12. Tomori only started 19 games last season in the league, White predominantly is a sub full back for Arsenal and Hall seems to be 3rd choice in the full back position at Newcastle. Unfortunately, we have a really weak choice in terms of defenders across the back line. We did have a solid defence but it has gone with time.
  13. Agreed- which is more likely too- canโ€™t imagine Rovers offering him a contract as wouldnโ€™t have made sense, although them lot donโ€™t do anything that makes any logical sense
  14. Like Iโ€™ve said, I donโ€™t specifically have a problem with Rhodes in the role, he COULD be fine. But I feel like a club of our stature, utilising a relatively new role (previously an in-house responsibility of other staff) we would get someone who at least had experience of coaching or scouting, let alone the actual role itself. Even purely thinking of ex-players, Dunn, Neill, even ex-academy Keith Brown all have more qualification than Rhodes.
  15. I could not agree more, we had not a pot to piss in, but we had a far superior team, to what we have now.... Just maybe our scouting system and manager had more idea than the ones employed since 2010 ? Data running rules over footballing ability today... I just want Venkys Out, end of! I long for the days of Garner, Sellars, Hendry, Moran, Gayle etc etc We had far better footballers in those days.. Than this shower of shit we have today and the alleged legend Gestede would not get in the team.. A poor mans Jimmy Quinn! I forgot about Simon Barker and Alan Ainscow was three times the player Forshaw is! Venkys Out!
  16. Doubt that. If thereโ€™s one area where I would back Gueye over most people itโ€™s his penis
  17. You havenโ€™t seen enough to judge the players weโ€™ve replaced more than half of our first 11 with, yet in the sentence immediately before *checks notes* have decided the window could have been a 7/10?
  18. It's never heard of a loans manager before. And my first thought was that it was a completely made-up role and completely pointless. Admittedly we're have our struggles inputting passwords or whatever in order to register player transfers. But a specific person who actually does the paperwork for all of our loans? How many players do we loan or and how many in per season? Averaged over nine months, about one, maybe one and a half, per month. What else is he going to be doing or is it just that? We can afford someone to just look after loans but we can't afford a club shop in town or a matchday program. Bring back the late eighties, I was happier then
  19. That's a very specific piece of knowledge, which raises questions that I'm not sure I want the answers to.
  20. That cameo at Bramall Lane made me ill.
  21. I'd imagine it's a typo and should say wasn't.
  22. Dennis to Antalyaspor? A little strange sentence in the article regarding Rovers: "The 27-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Sky Bet Championship club Blackburn Rovers. The forward was offered a permanent deal after failing to make much impact at the club." https://dailynewshub.ng/transfer-emmanuel-dennis-set-for-antalyaspor-move/
  23. Which some loan managers don't but they have player experience of loans.
  24. And found an ex-player with no particular qualifications for the role. Some โ€˜searchโ€™ that was.
  25. Well clearly not otherwise he would have had a club in the last 12. Injuries stopped Wickham being a quality striker.
  26. Surely we can replace Gueye with a traffic cone?
