  1. Past hour
  2. Goosebumps. Better to have loved and lost than never loved at all. Extraordinary player with a single minded approach to scoring, winning, and being the best. Shame the Walker family didn’t like football after Sir Jack passed away. 😢
  3. With new (and half decent owners) I reckon that feeling would return in an instant.
  4. The news of Guehi and Glaser's departure from Palace plus Mateta being available for sale surely means Adam is on his way either in this window or next.
  5. Hope you see a shot on target in the 90 mins tomorrow anyway!
  6. Far too many Newcastle highlights for my liking in this
  7. Always surprised has nasty folk can be about good people doing their job in difficult circumstances. It's some kind of societal sickness.
  8. Nypan on the bench again tonight for Boro. Another loan deal we could possibly do the old swaparoo with? AM and not played well for Boro so far but highly rated. Not sure of the details in the deal with Boro.
  9. If the option to make Baradji permanemt is watertight then that deal can wait until summer for me. They need to be concentrating on another striker and a left wing back now
  10. Having started watching in 74 I'm of the generation who grew up in the darkest times the club had known up until that point. 3rd division for the first time in the clubs history, low crowds and no money. And yet there was always the knowledge that the people running the club cared, even if we didn't always agree with their decisions! There were several flirtations with the top flight along with a brief return to the 3rd division. Some memorable Cup moments as well. It was all so different to today. The key thing was there always a sense of ambition - Duncan McKenzie and Howard Kendall, wheeling and dealing in the transfer market, engaging with the town and fans. Now it just feels like supporting an empty shell. I live in Bath and couldn't work up the enthusiasm to go to the Bristol and Portsmouth away matches. Haven't been to Ewood since before COVID. I still care about the club and pray Venkys fuck off soon but I worry that I'll never get that sense of belonging back.
  11. Today
  12. He's seemingly also banned from saying 'think' or 'thought' (fink & fought, managing to sound like a toddler in the process). Anyway, hopeful we do make The Moose a permanent signing this window. Whilst he's still clearly not fully up to speed, he's shown why we were keen to take him even pre-operation. Bags of potential in that one, I fink.
  13. https://youtu.be/NDDXa22PmF4?si=rB0fhgmlc7zGzhzv Can we get this young man back, he's highly thought of from some of the greats 👍🏻
  14. Agreed - did a transatlantic with them for work last year (via Copenhagen) and they were spot on.
  15. I read VI's comments about settling into Bodo as the player wanting a move.
  16. Yes I think it must be something like that. I mean Bodo play Man City next week and in Madrid the week after. We play Swansea on Tuesday then Watford at home. Not really much of a comparison 😂
  17. Is he not banned from Brockhall STC 🤷‍♂️
  18. Can't say that I'm looking forward to this one. A 4.30 am start from Ewood and not a ground that we generally do well at. I'd be delighted with a point but a defeat would put a huge amount of pressure on the Swansea and Watford games.
  19. In fairness the transfer has suprised most people in Norwegian football including the Bodo fans. Bodo usually beds in players for several months to get used to their high-intensity training and tempo. Their coach is famous for not rotating the squad and Jørgensen have seemingly performed admirably in his cameos of the bench (4 goals in 10 matches in 300+ minutes). There could be something in the player not settling and might have pushed.
  20. But despite the ice they are all happier than here and at least he'll be used to tiny home crowds.
  21. People often think Blackburn is a difficult place to settle in. Try a town of 42,000 which is a 16 hour car journey from Oslo and further north than practically all of Alaska.. It is far enough inside the Arctic Circle that at this time of the year, the only "daylight" is caused by refraction by the Earth's atmosphere for an hour or so each day. When he signed it was probably brilliant sunshine at midnight and warm enough to venture out in a light sweater.
  22. I found the timings quite strange too. Bear in mind the Norwegian league also runs March till November so they effectively had what half a season out of him and a few champions league performances. 4 goals in 10 league appearances doesn't suggest he was awful there? He was their main/most expensive signing too by the looks of things. Bodo have played 2 friendlies in Jan and he was on the bench in 1, he started the game on Tuesday which suggests he was in their plans. Was it an offer they couldn't turn down? 🤔
  23. The longer the contract the more time you have to pay the fee over and also base a chunk of it on add ons. Also it can compensate a bit for a lower wage 'we can't give you that much over 2/3 years but we can give you this much over 4 years so you had the security' That kind of thing that they've done before with the likes of Armstrong and Gallagher although bigger figures involved obviously.
  24. All manner of things really, less traffic jams if you're lucky, less driver hours, less diesel etc As you say meals and snacks on the bus and straight to bed when they get there but you're going to be leggy in the morning not doing much until you get to the ground and do pre match. I know Eustace had them walking up the sea front at Plymouth last time we were there.
  25. The latest was they were "in talks about making is move permanent" or words to that effect Given that the option was already agreed in the summer, & doesn't require any talks (it just needs activating), I would assume there is no news
